DAYS: Sheffer Out!?

Stranger things (Renee Jones' firing, Shayna Rose's firing, Joy Biscoe joining the cast, etc.) have happened on this show as of late, but I don't see this one joining that group. I don't even think Corday is that stupid. He's spent years trying to get Hogan onto this show. He finally has him, and what, he's going to fire him? I'm not buying it.

After Summer would make sense, if Hogan was contracted for one year.

As for B&E, They are the ones who got me hooked on GL, and I loved The City  Why does everyone think they are so bad?

At any rate if this is true....

Pops the cork off the champagne (Of course I'll probably be celebrating alone as most people think he is a saviour :lol)

ETA: SO now everything is Corday's fault? LMAO Just a few days ago it was NBC's fault for pushing the younger crowd on the frontburner? I guess it could be Corday & NBC's fault. Of course Hogan should take no blame, he is only the HEAD WRITER afterall.

He's good at writing action stories, but he needs to work with an older writer to guide him on the family and couples aspect.

Budget cuts and disappearing vets have tainted his run at DAYS. People got their hopes up and for the most part weren't satisfied. Mix it with wishful thinking (Days will take over B&B in the #2 spot! WTFEVER!).

Don't get me wrong, Hogan has his faults, but if you compare his stints on ATWT to his current run, his DAYS material is much better. Hogan has a great supporting team to keep him in check, but when you have an EP who has proven time and time again that he thinks he knows what's best for the show, what can you do?

If Corday does not find some money to pay so that the vets will get some airtime, it does not matter who writes for the show (so long as it's not Reilly).

Sheffer has very little to work with. Reilly gets 4 damn years to destroy the characters and the show, and Sheffer is not given the chance even though his hands are tied behind his back?

Corday is a complete moron! The writing is not DOOL's problem right now. It's the lack of the couples the audience has loved for so many years!

Corday really is an idiot!

Let's also remember Hogan is doing IWTBASS for SN.

Corday wouldn't do this after not even a year. If this was about Hogan quitting, maybe I could see it because he may do that in response to Corday forcing things on him and so on. Him being fired makes no sense and without an actual source I can't even come close to buying this.

Whoa, Rick. I disagree about the B&E thing. As others have mentioned, FOUR shows have ended with them as head writers. Is that a good thing? lol.

HOnestly, I hope it's not true. And if it is, then it's Corday admitting defeat and doing a very "TV" business thing by hiring them just to be poetic, and keep the trend of their show's dying due to just their writing.

Either Beth Milstein or Sherri Anderson.

Brown and Esenten are just terrible Head-Writers. The only thing I've ever seen them do right was THE CITY and most of that was the acting and the flashy sets.

Sheffer, for whatever reason if it is Corday, the network, or his own writing, is just NOT bringing in the numbers lately. But bringing on trash like Brown and Esenten isn't gonna make the ratings rise either. Mayeb Corday is bringing them on to revamp DAYS when it is cancelled so he can keep Corday generating some kind of profit.

I have a hard time believing this. We could all throw out random garbage if we wanted to. Where is this coming from?

Like others have said, Hogan is not the problem. I don't know if it's NBC, Sony, or Corday, but I don't believe for a second that the garbage spewn out of our TVs for the last two months was Hogan's idea. Sorry. The stuff he did a few months earlier is light-years ahead of this crap. Why would he serve up Long John Silvers when he's capable of caviar? It doesn't make any sense. We've seen what he can do. I'm team Sheffer all the way.

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
