Well I had it on today in the gym - and I will say one thing. I wasn't bored to tears - which is a miracle!

But this whole Will/Gwen/Jade/Adam storyline is way too similar to the story that Passanante wrote over at AMC. Think Tad/Dixie/David/Leslie ;)

I think today's show was really good, I hate what they have done to Adam, but the acting was great by Matt C. and Jen Landon. Today really kept me tuned in it had a real good drama feeling to it, I just hope we are nearing the end of this storyline so we can move on finally to something else.

I'm sorry to piss in anyone's cornflakes, but I'm so tired of these single-storyline "special" eppys. Yeah...sure, today was intense. But, imo, it's a case of crying after the milk's already been spilled. (spilt?...whatever!)

The half-assed explanation of Adam's abrupt personality split still makes no sense. He was more attracted (and I believed) his attraction to Jade way more than Gwen. He'd just broken up with a long-term girlfriend, and his dad died, so Gwennie became the light of his life? GMAFB.

His disgust for Will? Well, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Hello...not only was he lusting after Gwen, he set Will up for stealing his own bonds, then was going to leave Casey to take all the blame. Brother of the year material he ain't.

The only thing that made sense was his complete disgust for Gwen fueling this revenge. As he was ticking off all her transgressions, I couldn't help but agree with him...Gwen continually plays the victim and just expects to get away with it.

And the worst thing of all is, I don't feel an ounce of pity for her, whether he rapes her or not.

It was nice seeing Babs/Tom/Margo, but Margo looked like an idiot, Tom had the Whiplash Moment of the Day pleading with Margo not to put an APB out on Casey (after months of being the most disappointed in Casey? after years of being Mr. Law&Order? You can't be serious!) And the Babs/Iris stuff was nearly cringeworthy. Babs is blaming Maddie for Will and Gwen running off? I guess Paul isn't the only psychic in the family. And what a waste of Iris...prancing around stupidly dropping hints that Will was gone. Uh, hello....don't you think Iris would be smart enough to want Will gone for a long time? The longer she's gone, the less likely he's going to get the trust back.

And I swear to God if I get another door being locked from the outside to trap someone, I'm gonna scream! It's ridiculous.

I am too upset about Adam being trashed to appreciate this and I don't feel any sympathy for Gwen. ATWT has great actors and they can produce some good individual episodes or scenes, but I'm tired of the motivations making sense. The foundation of all these "payoffs" is just pathetic.

Just watched it and LOVED IT!!! This was like a Friday episode!! I hardly FFed through ANYTHING, and these days I FF through almost everything. Jennifer Landon is such a great actress. It's time for Adam to die for real now.

I loved them putting Jade into the story (except I HATE her hair....I like it straight better).

    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.

    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.
