Basically to stick it to JR, basically make him his new son, which will be part of his revenge for JR. Then JR will have Adam ousted from Chandler Enterprises in retaliation. Plus Josh will probably see this as a way of getting closer to Babe.

Yes, McTavish was notified & shown the door immediately. With writers, they never say "You have four more weeks left to write and then you're done." They break the news to you and the next week you're not invited to the story meetings. Megan was fired suddenly, so suddenly that ABC didn't have a permanent replacement lined up right away.

And just as a reference

Writers write 4 weeks ahead of tape time

Tape time is about 3-4 weeks ahead of airtime

And so McT's name will be gone from the credits by the end of April.

I hope you are right. The Josh as a Chandler thing then will be a Megan item. Since it probably will happen within the next few weeks.

Although I think Josh being "adopted" is ridiculous - adults can be adopted in the real world. Mostly it's for reasons of money, i.e. so the adult child can collect inheritance.

Josh is Adam's new son?! I know Adam has disowned JR, but this is ridiculous! I guess that’s really sticking it to JR, though.
