Next week's ratings will be interesting to see. AMC does not have a strong hold on the #4 spot. Only the top 3 are solid. I am curious to see where all the soaps land next week.

They will be down even more, because this week the basketball is on in the whole country for Today and Friday, So I would expect the ABC and NBC shows will suffer major for today's and Friday's show's, CBS won't be effected because they are totally preempted for the two days.

I think next week will look something like this

1. Y&R

2. B&B

3. GH

4. ATWT

5. GL

6. AMC

7. OLTL

8. DAYS

9. PASS

though if GH suffers enough from the basketball ATWT could move into third for the week.

CBS usually does well during the short week. I believe all soaps will go up next week. The numbers are way too low so they must go up next week.

A 1.9 for DOOL on Friday? Ouch. That was actually a pretty good episode. The show actually started improving last week so those numbers are lower than they should have been. But this is what happens when a show that has always focused on family, romance, supercouples and vets does a 180. Viewers are frustrated and confused and angry.

I'm entertaining myself right now by imagining the reactions of Corday and Hogan to these ratings.

AHHHHHHHHH!!! These ratings are awful! I feel bad for DAYS.... NBC seems to be getting its amunition for cancellation come to 2009 (or is it 2008?). Nonetheless... its sad.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder what Corday and Hogan are thinking now.

In some markets basketball was shown on the other networks last week so CBS wasn't the only network affected by basketball at the end of the week.

OH MY LORD! I cannot believe Days has stooped to a 1.9. if Passions gains on Days, it is bad.

NBC is probably so happy right now....

Days has GOT to step it up, though Friday was pretty good and the show is improving, it must if it wants to live.

I knew that CBS would be down some due to the preemptions, and if it is normal they will rebound next week because of the 3 day week. CBS always seems to do good on the weeks it is only on 3 days.

I agree that many people in those areas possibly tuned out of the other shows to watch basketball too.

I still think ATWT deserves it's 2.3. Until Passanante wakes up things are not going to get any better. Fans are frustrated. We got a brief glimpse of the way things should have been with Tom & Margo being featured more and then it was back to the norm of having the same people dominate. People are frustrated.

And as to Days not deserving these numbers when all this first started I was in agreement but since it just keeps going on and on and more newbies keep being added and more people who should be there for scenes keep getting left out - I say they do. Sure Friday did get a little better but ever heard of too little too late. After it being since the first two weeks of January since things have even been decent, people are getting frustrated and they are tuning out. One good show on Friday and then even Monday was too late in the game. Fans have gotten frustrated and even on this board many of the long time fans are tuning out. You count the ones who are tuning out due to frustration and the ones who tuned into other shows including basketball - you get what they are getting.

What good is great quality and great dialogue it is wasted on characters that people are getting tired of being on all the time or it is wasted on stories that are slow and repititious. This is the same stuff that the ATWT fans have been screaming about for months, and that even many of the fans of Days who are defending this mess said was wrong with ATWT.

For years GH fans and critics have fussed about too much Sonny & Jason; OLTL fans & critics have fussed about too much John; ATWT fans & critics have been fussing about too much Katie or too much Paul or too much of the younger set even though they admit they can act.

Well what is the difference? So Days younger set is better than they were under Langan? There is still too much focus on them? THere is too much focus on the same characters? And why does EJ have to be involved in every damn story. He is becoming the John McBain of Days except for he can act better and looks better than Michael Easton.

After awhile the only fans that are going to tune in are the die hard loyal fans who watch out of habit many times or the fans who absolutely love those characters? Look at the people who have tuned out of OLTL because they got tired of John McBain or the fans tuning out because they are tired of Babe at AMC or the fans who have quit watching because of Katie or Paul or Gwen at ATWT?

It is time that not just Days but all the soaps wise up and quit putting the same damn people on everyday or not make every story revolve around one person. Or the ratings are just going to get worse than they are now.

This is a point where I don't believe DAYS can't recover.. and quite frankly, I have made my peace that it will be over soon... Shame..

I just remembered... is it possible that some affiliates dropped DAYS and PASS, knowing they'd be gone soon? I know the same happened with SuBe and PC... by the end of those shows, many afiliates dropped it and the ratings hit all time lows all the time...

I have said before......none of the previews that Hogan gave for the big 4 are coming into play. I remember the interviews he did with SOD previewing what would be done for the big 4 and sometime in mid-January, all of that took a backseat. He had momentum going on and then suddenly all of the "B" storylines became "A" storylines.

I still believe there is a big truth behind the rumors of not having enough money to pay Kristian, Peter, Diedre and Drake. Something is up....

SOD recently stated that Drake didn't tape ANY episodes in the month of February, so we probably won't see him until April if he gets back.

DAYS cannot continue on like this. This proves more true now than it ever did, that Bo, Hope, John and Marlena is what people tune into see. Not Patch & Kayla, Lucas & Sami, Belle & Shawn and the growing newbie twofers (i.e. Willow/Jed and the new father/daughter characters joining).

The show is still having very good episodes and good storylines, but the Big 4 need to come back. I am not abandoning my show, I am not going to talk bad about it, but enough is enough. Free up some money somewhere damn it and get my characters back on-screen!!

The only thing that will help Days now is to kill EJ and have a lot of the vets be suspects. Marlena, John, Steve, Kayla, Sami, Lucas and after he figures out that Willow set the fire while working for EJ, Bo all have motives, as do Benjy and Celeste.
