Then kill off the character. The Mickey situation needs to be addressed, and it needs to be addressed before Alice dies. Frances Reid isn't getting any younger here and what are they going to do if they don't explain before that tragedy occurs? Mickey is working and can't show up for his mother's funeral? Do something!

They really do need to address the Mickey issue. If John Clarke is alright health wise, they should just bring him back every holiday or for really important family issues. Either that or bring him back for one last hurrah and kill him off.

Who wrote today's script? I missed it. Twice.

I agree. It may be a huge issue but it is at big events and holidays. I was shocked they did nothing to rectify it at Christmas and that they simply said "Mickey was off donating clothes" or something. Either bring John Clarke back for big events and holidays or kill him off and pair Maggie off or whatever. Hell, it gives her great material and maybe even a story. It does seem like she is a part of the MABY story right now but Mickey's death would be a story of her own.

Either way, it's a sore spot with me that I feel should've been addressed months ago.

Chelsea has quickly become one of my favorite characters on the show I remember that it was just a year ago I couldn't stand her. Melvin and Pinson were heartbreaking especially when Billie said "you're my baby you're my Georgia" Hopefully they can keep this up for awhile instead of having a really good month like December then falling apart for two months.

BTW - They finally name the baby tomorrow!

Well, I enjoyed the Mabby scenes but admittedly, at first I didn't realize WHY Abby wanted to hide from Maggie. Don't get me wrong, I eventually "got" that it was because she had said she disapproved of Max, but my mind, I think, was elsewhere because remember just before the Nillie reveal? Abby WAS folding napkins with Mags, learned Nick planned to tell Chelsea so she went to Billie to let her know -- PROMISING Maggie should would return and help her later. Maybe I'm missing something -- and forgive me if I am -- but I'm pretty sure that conniving diva just went BACK to the garage, tried to get Max all hot and bothered by wearing her overalls and just neglected poor Maggie! Did we ever see her go back to help her with the napkins?! Maybe I missed that episode, and if so, I'm sorry. But if not, Abby deserves to get HELL from Maggie. I honestly expected her to open a can of whupass on her for LYING to her -- but she didn't! She's just concered that Abby is there with Max? Puh-LEEZE! The girl LIED to you, Maggie. Damn right you better call Jack to come back to town to get her ass straightened!!!

As for Chelsea, I love Chick and I love Chelsea -- but honestly, I'm PISSED off at this girl right now. Sorry, Chels, but your mom did NOT betray you. You didn't LIKE Nick back then, or at least, you didn't realize it if you did. She didn't betray you. Nick didn't betray you. GET OFF YOUR DAMN HIGH HORSE YOU SPOILED, SELFISH BRAT. Forgive your mother . Forgive Nick. Why? OH, YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT: THEY DIDN'T WRONG YOU!

God, get OVER yourself Chelsea. You are soooooooooooooooo clueless.

And Billie? Do NOT beat yourself up because your immature daughter doesn't "get it."

So, on another front, is Steve's doctor working for EJ? Because that was just evil, the way she ordered him back in that straitjacket. WHAT a hateful !@#$%^&*]!

Well, well... glad to see everyone returning to the fold and not drinking the "bring Reilly back" Kool-Aid.

This was a well-done episode. I think Darin and Ashley have tremendous chemistry, but as much as I love Hogan's work he has to explain to me why Maggie is so dead-set on steering Abby away from Max. Is it because Max befriended Mimi after all the rotten stuff Meems did to Shelle? Details, Hogie! And I agree about Mickey... John Clarke must not be doing well, either that or he's pissed at Ken Corday for that rotten stalker story. Bring Mickey back onto the canvas. Do NOT kill him, you cannot afford to do that. If you have to recast, do so and get a good recast (nothing against John Ingle, but to me he's Edward Quartermaine.)

I thought the Chelsea/Nick/Billie reveal wasn't over the top... Rachel did a decent job with her scenes and now it cleans the slate for them to slowly work back towards each other...

    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
