ALL: Worst recasts!

If you started watching DAYS under RKK though (as many did), you might. Some who started watching DAYS then had no pre-conception of Bo before RKK and didn't know Reckell from Adam. I could see where from their POV, Reckell was a recast. And a bad one at that.

Really? Wow! I actually thought you started under RKK, which is why I was surprised by your comment. So you missed "BURIED ALIVE"? Wow. Reilly's Best Story EVER IMO. It hooked you right from the set-up.

And I totally agree with DeGrassi about Krista Allen as Billie. Forgot about her. HORRID Re-Cast!

Yeah, I missed most famous Reilly-esque storylines (Possession, Buried Alive, Aremid). I tuned in the summer of '96 when Marlena was being held captive by Stefano in the golden cage below Paris.

As for Krista Allen, again I hadn't watched Lisa Rinna back then, so I enjoyed Allen's Billie. To me, she's the best Billie to be Lauren Koslow's Kate's daughter. Rinna and Pinson look more like Koslow's sisters than her daughters, but Pinson is my favorite Billie.

i agree with what u said about pr as a recast. i was one of the people who started watching when RKK was bo and then PR came on and i was like what?! lol. but i do like reckell.. correction, i find him hot.

and wow. we agree again. i do truley belive allen as billie is one of the worst recasts ever. yeah she had the sexy vamp look, but she didnt have the acting skills. she playd billie as a one layer skank who tried to justify what she did. with a good actress, they would hav gotten the many complex layers down and pulled it off.

Robert Kelker-Kelly, althought not as good as Peter Reckell, was a good Bo IMHO. Martha Madison is the BEST Belle Black ever IMHO. Kirsten Storms was ok as the teen Belle, but Madison far outranks her in acting talent. Brandon Beemer's a better actor IMHO than Jason Cook, so in that perspective he's a better Shawn, although he's not as handsome. Kyle Brandt IMHO was the best Phillip Kiriakis. Looked more like a marine. That said I'm liking Jay Kenneth Johnson's second run as Phillip though and I'm glad he's back instead a newby in the role.

WORD. The absolutely worst re-cast in DAYS history and 1 of the Top 5 of daytime history IMHO.

Definitely Ron, that's one of the reasons I quit ATWT at that time. I loved Alyson Rice-Taylor, the original Connor. And ONE LIFE's Luna as Connor was absolutley STUPID AS HELL.

Agree on most of your DAYS choices. I still see Josh Taylor as Chris Kositchek, I'll never understand why DAYS had him come back as yet another established character. Still makes no sense to me. Steve Wilder looked like a Ken doll and absolutely wrong for Jack. Stephanie Cameron was ok as Jenn, but DAYS could've done better. Don't remember Fata as Stefano, refresh my memory. Was he the recent temp Stefano whose face wasn't shown, or maybe he was on when I had stopped watching DAYS for awhile.

I thought Ingle was ok as Mickey. Gerse is ok as Will, but now that he's older, he kinda looks weird being taller than Sami & Lucas, but in real-life some kids get taller than their parents.

I agree with your ATWT choices except for Collier who I thinked did a good job as Mike, McCouch whose a good Dusty, and I really liked Brian Bloom in the role. Mantooth I thought was ok as Hal, but of course, was NO Ben Hendrickson.

I agree on Howarth, but Trevor St. John is a very good re-cast as Todd.

I agree. I thougth at the time he was a very poor actor. His acting talent has grown as Nash on ONE LIFE.

Ridings sucked as JR, horrible acting. Paudling was NOT Bianca, absolutely HORRIBLE and IMHO fugly. Agree with Anderson as well and Kurt Caceres was the temp Mateo.

WRONG about Laura Wright, who is oen of the best re-casts in daytime history. I think Natalia Livington is a good Emily and I don't understand the Emily hate, I guess it's just the Amber Tamblyn lovers.

ABSOLUTELY to Eileen Davidson as Kelly. STUPID, and part of the reason of SB getting cancelled. And agree with these other choices as well.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.
