As it is already pointed out, lung cancer has a very bad mortality rate. I have wondered about that all along.

If she has decided to leave, it comes at a bad time for soaps with all the departures and bad news this year. I just hope that GH was dumb enough to fire her.

What is the deal with all actresses over 40 being either ignored or fired? I'm a guy but when have the soaps ever been all about the guys? We need a balance and are slowly losing it.

^^ I wouldn't be too quick to believe this. The rumor of her demise has been greatly exaggerated on a number of occasions. Supposedly, it's been denied on her website.

No denials are on her website for this rumor yet. I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss it either. I'd hate to go on believing the rumor is invalid and by the time she's "officially" let go, have no chance of saving her.

WTF!?!?!? NLG is the only good thing about GH, at the moment. If she's gone, I'm gone. Seriously, I hope this is just a rumor, because Nancy's the only strong female actress GH has right now. However, I'm sure Frons wouldn't hesitate to pull the plug on and over 40 actress.

I don't think even Frons is dumb enough to let Nancy go. I think he has to see the importance of her on GH - esp. since he had to okay Hillary Bailey Smith getting a 4 year contract on OLTL. I am still shocked by that one.

I once enjoyed David Canary but not so much anymore. And it is not the way he is written anymore - he has just been there done that so much type character. Every female relationship he has ever had ends up the same way. So if he left it wouldn't bother me that much.

There are. NLG signs her contract on a yearly basis. So every year, there are rumors that she is going to leave or GH isn't going to renew her contract. Take it with a huge grain of salt.

Wow. I *HATE* Guza but would be stunned if this were true. Guza was a writer on Santa Barbara back in the day and apparently loved NLG's Julia. Plus, she has always publicly defended him and his writing. Seriously, Alexis is probably the only female -- apart from Carly -- he enjoys writing for.

But... it's ABC and Frons and GH. Color me unsurprised.
