Who do you think is the best First Lady that you lived under and one that was before your time? For me, it is hands down Hillary Rodham Clinton that is the best one I have lived under while Eleanor Roosevelt is the best one before my time

I will say we have been pretty lucky when it comes to First Ladies. Just about every single one of them have contributed to the country in a positive way, and most are liked regardless of how people felt about their spouse.

Nancy Reagan and Say No To Drugs, Barbara Bush and her literacy programs, Laura Bush has been a wonderful, caring first lady.

Mrs. Ford brought awareness to so many issues, as did Lady Bird Johnson and the issues she cared about.

So many good first ladies, so hard to choose.

Eleanor Roosevelt would be the best before my time.

Barbara Bush would be the best in my lifetime. She was the epitome of a lady and loved her literacy programs.

Others I have loved were Jackie Kennedy, Mrs. Ford, Rosalyn Carter, Nancy Reagan and Lady Bird Johnson.

Sorry but Hillary Clinton is the only first lady I have never had any respect for and still don't.

Barbara Bush, and Hillary Clinton a close second for my lifetime.

Betty Ford, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Jackie Kennedy all before my time were good first ladies.

The best ones before my time IMO were Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, Betty Ford, and Mamie Eisenhower.

The best ones of my lifetime have been Hilary Clinton & Laura Bush. I couldn't stand Barbara- such an uppidy, uptight, priss of a hag.

But BY FAR, Eleanor was the best first lady of all-time, hands down. In the later years, when FDR was sick, she was all but running the country. AMAZING, remarkable woman, certainly a fine role-model for young women to this day.

In all honesty, how old is Barbara Bush? She looks like George Bush Sr.'s mother!

Laura Bush is a bit Stepford but I like her. Jackie O, Eleanor and Betty were greats too.

Eleanor Roosevelt is definitely my favorite. So is Abigail Adams. Betty Ford and Rosalyn Carter are also up there on my list, and Lady Bird Johnson b/c she was devoted to environmental issues.

The most entertaining First Lady, though, is definitely Mary Lincoln. OMG, that woman was crazy!! I've watched the documentary that PBS did a thousand times, and man...she was INSANE!

Of my time, though, I'd have to say Hillary. Laura seems really nice too. Too bad she's married to Dubya though.

Barbara Bush though...ehh! That woman seems psychotic. She actually attended my college, but dropped out to get married. Nancy Reagan came here too and graduated.

Wow. Interesting question. I agree with the masses that Eleanor Roosevelt is probably THE best First Lady this country has ever had.

As far as my favorite during my lifetime? Well, if I had to pick one that had the biggest IMPACT on my life, I'd have to say Nancy Reagan :o For the record, I am a Democrat and never like Ronald Reagan. But I will always remember the Just Say No campaign because, well, I'm a child of the 80's and that slogan was drilled into my head for a very long time (and still to this day).

I can't remember anything Barbara Bush did. And Laura Bush is kinda *meh* to me. I like Hilary a lot---but I can't recall anything she did other than being the focus of SO.MUCH.HATE from the press and Right-wingers. I fully support her bid for the presidency :)

Hillary Rodham Clinton :)

With Laura Bush on the bottom of my list

I agree. But I did like Barbara Bush as first lady.

Favorite of my lifetime Hillary Rodham Clinton hands down. I did like Nancy Reagan fairly good, as well as Betty Ford and Rosalyn Carter.

Fave First Ladies before my lifetime-----Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy.

First Ladies of my lifetime I hate with a passion ----- Barbara "Old Bag B I T C H" Bush, Laura "Stepford Wife" Bush.

First Lady before my lifetime I don't care much for was LadyBird Johnson, whom was always portrayed as a beatch. It's a well-known fact that Jackie Kennedy did NOT like LadyBird Johnson whatsoever and that Ms. Johnson was very snobby.

Laughing my a s s off at Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush (these people seem to be doing quite well!) as choices.

Betty Ford is an icon - no question about it, as is (before my time) Jacqueline Kennedy. Rosalynn Carter semed to be such a nice, honest lady (unlike those two witches Nancy and Barbara)

I actually liked Barbara Bush until her extremely stupid *I'm rich so I don't care* comments about NOLA refugees in Houston. Now I hate her.
