I agree King. I thought they were sabotaging her too. I also voted a million times and I noticed the Jordin's phone line was still busy at 1 o'clock in the morning. (I just happened to get up at that time and thought I would try dialing.)

Same here. I thought they were either going out of their way to sabotage her, or they were going out of their way to get her fans worried enough to vote in order to save her. Either way, she definitely wasn't 'pimped.'

I guess that if people really dislike someone enough, they'll create theories and ideas in their head that are really based on nothing.

I agree. The song choices for her suggested that may be what they were doing.

Melinda was hyped from day one but there was a period where Melinda got boring and Jordin became the favorite. It was around the time of country week and Idol Gives Back. Jordin was being pimped. She also got the "pimp slot" three times this year along with Melinda. No one else got it more then once. I think Idol began to get on her bandwagon around the time of Idol Gives Back and that is when it seems Melinda lost fans. DI even had her in the bottom with Lakisha and I think maybe they were right about that since Ryan never said who the bottom two was that week. Whatever the case, Melinda was pimped from the start and then Jordin got it for a little bit before Melinda got the pimping back again this week. I and others were worried about Melinda going into this week because there was a sense that she was so good every week it was predictable and it did seem like some were bored with her.

I knew Jordin would be safe because she had never been in the bottom 3. Blake had been once and we really don't know about Melinda other then speculation. Traditionally, with the exception of Ruben and Fantasia, the person who doesn't end up in the bottom 3 ends up at least getting to the finale if not winning it. Kelly, Carrie, and Taylor never were in the bottom and either was Jordin. That bodes well for her.

I just hope she wins this title. She earned it, much like Melinda did.

Therefore, I am a member of TEAM JORDIN all the way!!

I just came to a disappointing realization.

When LaKisha was voted out, everyone assumed that Melinda would inherit all of her votes and it'd keep her safe. Obviously, that didn't happen.

Now that Melinda's gone, everyone (including myself) is assuming that Jordin will inherit her votes. If it didn't work that way for Melinda, it won't likely work that way for Jordin. She'll just have to REALLY blow Blake out of the water next week and pray to God that people vote for the right reason -- talent, not how wet their panties get.

Since it came down to Melinda and Blake, a lot of fans will feel hostile towards Blake since it's blatantly obvious he robbed Melinda of her spot. They will not so much vote for Jordin because they want her to win, but because they want Blake to LOSE.

Which he better.

While this week's results may have shocked "American Idol" observers, we had an inkling that Melinda Doolittle was in major trouble. Searches on the humble singer never took flight, and her amazing pipes just didn't bring in the Buzz.

After Tuesday's three song extravaganza, judge Simon Cowell declared that he wanted Melinda to make the finale. Although his bold opinion may have mobilized a few voters, the former backup singer still trailed Blake and Jordin in searches by a wide margin.

Over the last week, Blake Lewis pulled down five times as many searches as Doolittle. Fellow diva Jordin Sparks outranked Melinda in Buzz by a factor of four. In another important popularity indicator, Melinda only drew 20% of her searches from teens. Compare that to the 31% notched by Jordin or the amazing 55% brought in by Blake, and you'll see that Doolittle needed to do more to connect with that all-important voting bloc.

That said, we weren't going to bet against Melinda's amazing voice and predict an early ouster based solely on Buzz. But according to search interest, this result was a long time coming. And we should know better than to be shocked by the tendencies of a fickle voting public.

-------------------------------

UGH! So that little pissant Blake is getting the most internet searches and buzz? He's so going to win.

I am encouraged by the number of hosts on TV who are saying Jordin wins. In fact, I've not heard a word about promoting Blake from any of them I've listened to today. Hopefully, he is just a cliche and most fans will vote for the voice. Though, I'm not advocating that those who want Jordin to win relax about it, because she will need all the votes she can get.

    • What will actually change though? Does this mean the sets will be different too? Or how exactly is this gonna look like to the viewers?
    • I'm not sure Passions is the model to emulate here.
    • Passions had Chad sleeping with his cousin nephew Vincent, ironically played by Daphne Duplaix (disguised as Valerie)

    • I do agree that I wish there was more gay representation in terms of singles. I also had hoped we'd get a Black couple since it was a Black soap and I don't know that we've ever seen that on a US soap.  With that said, it's still early days so I can imagine we'll get that at some point. I am impressed they launched with as much LGBT representation considering how US soaps can be.
    • Thank you. I know we're all supposed to see that BTG is progressive when it comes to queer characters, but it's telling that they won't commit to showcasing gay or bi males who are single and looking. That relationship couldn't be any more traditional. Will we ever get a bedroom scene with Smitty and Martin? I have my doubts.
