Members Adam
Does Kay clear the air as to why she is not headwriter of AMC or another ABC soap? I am to the point where I cannot go on one of these "insider's" say so.
Administrator Toups Posted June 14, 2007 Author Administrator Share Posted June 14, 2007 Some quotes by Kay in SOD: About B&B: - "It's truly like going home again." - "I called Brad and told him I was looking for a job." - "I believe his dad is smiling down on this deal because Bill would've wanted me to stay with his team." About Y&R: - "A difference in direction was desired and I think the feeling was that those of us committed to Bill Bell's vision were not going to effect those changes." - "It was very difficult for me to change and adapt, so it was a good decision for me to leave -- but it was still very painful." About ABC: - "I'm very grateful for the time I spent there and there was nothing unpleasant about the experience, but it was a universe where stories are told in a very different way. I was trying to look through a Bill Bell kind of lens and, under the circumstances, it just wasn't a very good fit."
Members Adam
Thanks Toups for the tidbits. Doesn't Frons and ABC get the Bell type of storytelling is what the majority of AMC fans want? Bell and Agnes were very similar in their visions. Fools. Congrats to all the B&B fans. No matter what position Alden holds, I am sure you will see great influence. Members Sylph
Amcfan, start watching B&B. The best show ever created, hahaha, I just love the feel of the show, because of Stephanie's magical window and view on LA from that window, the orchids, the "love tension", chamber atmosphere... Members Sylph
I wonder why Jim Houghton stopped working for B&B...

Nothing on ABC anymore resembles anything of Agnes's genius or vision, sadly. Shockingly.
Members Adam
Oh nobody knows that more than me and other long time AMC fans. That's why I am saying Frons and ABC need to realize their "storytelling" is what is driving away the viewers even faster. If they had seen what Alden could have delivered AMC just might get back an once of its former self. But of course they are too blind to see what's right in front of them. Idiots. Members aMLCproduction
With all that said. Abc is entering some scary times. Lord have Mercy. I see no hope for any of thosse shows. Every one is now pawns of Frons. B&B is getting good. This is my first time wacthing daily and I do enjoy it
Members heatherwebber
ABC has been bad times and lousy shows for some years now especially dreadful GH. The executives in charge don't seem to care.

Members Chris B
Glad that it's been confirmed that Kay Alden is going to b&B. WOuld love to see the full interview. Obviously somebody knows those Y&R writers are good if almost all have been picked up by B&B and are in demand. I hope we can see the changes with her soon and I want more balance! It's really a shame AMC didn't take her. So what if she has too much Y&R in her soul, thats what all the soaps need! Classic AMC was one of the greatest, most compelling soaps of all time. It's lost all of it's class, most of it's talent and all of it's respect. I know some people watch and say it's getting better, but I just don't see it. The characters on the frontburner do nothing for me. I'll never understand what people see in Ryan, Annie, Colby, Greenlee (both), Sean, Amanda, Del, etc. These are all mediocre talents and they're dominating the show. Members sheilaforever
So much for LML's antics not being true, pah... Thanks Toups. I'm so glad I jumped ship and am no longer watching the show once known as Y&R. B&B It seems the show is cleaning house for all the Y&R arrivals. Now that Janice Ferri Esser is wring A LOT scripts it seems to be evident that John Chambers is no longer part of the writing staff. This means that Tracy Ann Kelly is the only left original B&B writer. All the rest are former Y&R calibres - apart from the brilliant Patrick Mulcahey of course. Can't say I'm dismayed - the dialogue is getting better and better and every day. B&B rocks these days.
