What's wrong with Beyonce's voice?

Beyonce may seem stuck up, but atleast she ain't like those other singing celebrities who show their va-jay jay in public and act stupid. Go Beyonce, do your thing.

From TV Guide Online:

Dreamgirls' Oscars Strategy Hits a Sour Note

With the Academy Awards season nearing full swing, there is already some controversy surrounding the campaign being waged by the yet-to-be-released Dreamgirls — namely, Paramount/DreamWorks' decision to position Beyonce Knowles for a lead actress nod, and relegate Jennifer Hudson, touted as the heart and soul of the pic, to supporting. "It's ridiculous," awards-show guru Tom O'Neill (TheEnvelope.com) tells the New York Daily News. "Dreamgirls is [Hudson's]movie. She owns it." Does the Idol alumna herself feel spurned? "Jennifer doesn’t see it as an issue," a friend tells the News. "She can win as supporting actress, where she has the strongest chance."

I find it very hard to believe that they would think Beyonce has a chance of being nominated or winning an Oscar for Lead Actress. If she's even remotely better in this movie than her others... it's because the role doesn't seem that far from her own life (and it should be hard to mess that up.) Now, if this one critic isn't liking it... then what does it say about others and those that actually get to vote? If they don't like it either, then it will do more damage than help for the movie.

Now, I never seen Jennifer Hudson act, but if the buzz is correct (which is more about her than Beyonce anyways, and since that is the case...) then they should stick with pushing her, Jamie Foxx and/or Eddie Murphy, and the movie for a spot in the awards.

I don’t think Beyonce will get a best actress nom, but I think it was smart to put Jennifer in the Supporting Actress category. It will increase her odds of betting a nomination, and scoring a win.

The academy is less critical of “musicals” in supporting categories (i.e. Catherine Zeta taking home the Oscar, and not Renee, for Chicago).

Not to mention Queen Latifah also being nominated for supporting for Chicago. They're smart to keep Hudson in the background. And since Reese Witherspoon won last year for Lead Actress, the Academy may not want to nominate another singing role in that category.

Plus if Meryl Streep is nominated in Lead, she will surely walk away with the award. I haven't seen ANY of JH performance so I can't judge her at all, yet.

For Prada?

I love Meryl, but I'll be shocked if she wins for such an un-Academy movie.

From all the buzz it belongs to Helen Mirren.

Spare me, Mulder. Get over yourself. You're not my mother so don't scold me like you are. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled. In my world, she's a trashy skank. In your world, she's talented. Who cares.
