Two and a Half Men: Discussion Thread

Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother (those are the Lorre shows right) seem to be fading a bit so that may apply even more pressure.

I do feel sorry for the cast, but they - aside from Holland Taylor and Conchata Ferrell - are so incredibly untalented, they're probably lucky to have a job.

Not HIMYM - I think it's Mike and Molly. HIMYM is doing better than they were years ago and TBBT is only down because they moved to a new night and now they have to go up against Idol.

Well, Chuck Lorre has two other successful sitcoms on CBS, so if Two & A Half Men doesn't come back next year, he can either shift focus to one of those or launch a new one. Which makes me wonder, if CBS gets fed up & pulls the plug for good, will they shift Big Bang back to Monday's next season? It would screw up their plans of expanding the Thursday Comedy Block to two hours (which they want to do), but would stabilize Monday's. Even without all this drama, show is likely going to end soon anyways (next season will be season 9).

I do feel for everyone else who works at the show.

The show is still doing very well in the ratings. But this sucks since I see the show. So only 4 shows were left to tape?? Man they still had all of March, April and part of May.....I say hire someone else. I say kill of the character and bring in a brother to fill in the role. Sheen is a hot mess.

Yup..and they arent doing that bad against Idol.

Big Bang is a Chuck Lorre show, but How I Met Your Mother is not, Mike & Molly is the third Chuck Lorre show. I think you move Big Bang to Monday's @ 9, it would be back around the levels it got last year. It's ratings have slipped mostly cause there are less people watching tv at 8 & now it's up against American Idol (which it's actually holding up well against).

It's fascinating to see a show that is so generally crass and unpleasant play out the same way offcamera.

They should write a book on all the backstage sitcom battles. I remember hearing about some of the big issues at Make Room for Daddy, Welcome Back Kotter (apparently there was a huge war with Gabe Kaplan and the woman who played his wife, and everyone had to take sides), etc.

I would love to see the show just die. I have no idea why the show is so huge. I don't like, but don't mind how crass everything is, what bugs me is how mean spirited *every* single element of it is. I just don't feel any joy in watching the characters.

I wish someone would step in and commit Charlie Sheen. He sounds completely out of his mind on some substance or another and yet no one is forcing him to get some sort of help. Yeah, I know you can't make people get clean, but it seems like he is completely irrational at this point. Something has to be done before he accidentally kills himself.

Who wins in a crazy fight: Charlie Sheen as heard on the Alex Jones Show, or fictional rapist Todd Manning?

At least Todd has his teeth.

^Zing!

So, can anyone get it straight. I've heard from some sources the show has been canceled. Others that the production for this season only has shut down.

Which one is it?

Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure it's just this year and the show will be back next fall. It makes a ton of money, so it's not going to go down easy. I think they would even try to make it without Charlie.
