Desperate Housewives: Discussion Thread

Last night's episode was really good. It moved the plot but also developed the characters, which is what every show should do.

I really enjoyed the Gabby/Susan drama, with the wedding plans. Susan was SO wrong for being pissed at Gabrielle. When she started throwing the flowers around, Gabrielle should have slapped the hell out of her.

Edie and Carlos are interesting, I have to say. I really felt for Edie in this episode. I'm glad they took this time to help her out and rounden out her character, instead of making her the one-note bitchy type.

The only thing truly missing about the show (besides my BREE, who is hopefully Hodge-free when she returns) is the younger set. It seems as if anything dealing with the teens on the show is dropped after only a few episodes. Julie, Danielle, and Andrew are all very good, interesting characters and I think they deserve a cut of the storylines.

How interesting, your signature, because isn't Edie pulling an ERICA, in some way? I swear, that's what this story reminds me of!!! It's insane! And Carlos is SNOWED.

I wonder if carlos will have that crazed look tom had when he found out erica was taking birth control pills.:lol::lol: I've always wondered if susan and the actor that played tom on amc were at odds that day, his anger was waaaaaaaaaaaay over the top.IMO

While I don't disagree with you about the teens, I know that a lot of people don't care about them. You could argue that younger people would tune in, or even that it's generally healthy for a show to feature a cast with wide-ranging ages. However, I post at a lot of different DH forums, and you'd be surprised at how little most of the fans care about the teens. Especially over at Television Without Pity. I've read several posts in the past where people feel that the focus needs to remain entirely on the housewives themselves. Heck, some of the die-hard fans even get agitated when the plots revolve too much around the male characters. This is just something I have picked up from various boards: and whether or not Marc Cherry pays attention to that stuff, I'm not sure. He certainly seemed to listen to viewer feedback re: Season 2.

Ooo can you give me some good DH boards to post on?

If you go to the DH forum on Television Without Pity and go to the General Gabbery section, you will have a lot of fun. The posters all truly love the show, and there are lots of great sub-threads on ratings, awards, spoilers, etc. I love it there.

I just finished Sunday's episode, and I just about died when Gabrielle told Susan "If I was a lesbian, I'd totally do you." And then the look on Teri Hatcher's face: priceless!

Felicity and Doug were terrific. Love the turn that storyline took.

I loved it!!!

I would have been pissed at Gabby too for basically stealing my wedding. Those two were great together!!!

Eddie and Carlos- I kinda like them, but I still want my Carlos and Gabby.

Lynette and Tom are my supercouple!!! I heart them so much.

Can't wait for Bree next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!! Polly Bergen (Lynette's Mom) is a DREAM!! I am in love with her and the character!!!

And what is up with Bree's bun???

I'm wondering if Bree is pretending to be pregnant so she can pass her daughter's child off as her and Orson's child, and that's what Orson meant at the beginning of the show saying that he'd love the child as if it was his own.....

I thought Julie knew about Daniele and Austin? Why is she acting like she is still friends with Danielle?

Rhiannon, I think you are right after that last scene

  • Member

Julie does know about Austin and Danielle. She doesn't know that she is pregnant though. So she probably wants to know where Danielle disappeared to so suddenly.

Am I the only one that caught that Marcia Cross still has a belly?

Oh, haven't seen the beginning, but just read a few other posts. Bree is pregnant?!?! I bet she's not really pregnant, but she's going to pretend that she is so they can explain Danielle's baby.

Exactly.

Wow that's very underhanded ... I LOVE IT. That's the old Bree! The one who wiped up Mama Solis' blood and hid Andrew's damaged car ... I totally see her faking a pregnancy to pass off Danielle and Austin's baby as her own.

LOVING the finale so far.

It's a laugh-fest. Did Marc Cherry write this episode? It feels like his.

Loving Polly Bergen as Stella ... I hope she really does stick around a while.

And damn ... GO NICOLETTE SHERIDAN!
