Nothing against Jack or Jennifer but I think their story is done- unless they're ready to make Jennifer go crazy, which I always thought would be fun to watch. If the show needs anything right now, in terms of characters, it's a villain, imho.

I think Jensen would make a good Jennifer. I never saw her as having enough edge to play Vicky (AW) but she does have enough edge/goody goody sweetness to play Jennifer.

But why bother bringing Jack and Jen back now? They just left.

Well this does not surprise me considering there were so many hints of Matt returning. His little ad lib to Alice saying "See you soon" and we know Hogan and SN want him back. Hogan wanted to write for him. Also, Matt himself didn't rule out a return.

I am surprised though about a recast Jennifer. The story J&J left with was the perfect setup for Jennifer to be presumed dead or something offscreen. They could have them investigate something and have Jennifer die and Jack return alone. There would be more story that way and less risk of failure in regards to a recast. I love Jensen but I don't know how well she will work with Matt. Jack being alone would be great because we could see him be a single dad dealing with life without Jennifer and then slowly find love again with someone like Billie. Jack without Jen has more possibilities but whatever it's fine by me either way.

I don't see this happening until early 2007 though.

I don't think I'd like it. Don't get me wrong, I want Jack back. But they'd HAVE to kill Jennifer or something. otherwise, it would mean their incredible journalism job as big wigs in London went bust. And I don't want to see them fail after landing such a HUGE break like that. I mean, it's VERY impressive.

I hope this is a big fat lie! Jack and Jennifer returning so soon would be so pointless. What was the point of sending them off? Matthew Ashford as Jack is welcome back anytime by me. Given Jensen Buchanan's talent, I don't want her to come onto the show as Jennifer. Melissa Reeves is Jennifer and until she is willing to come back, they need to keep Jennifer offscreen. Why can't we have Jack without Jennifer? There are so many possibilities for Jack without bringing Jennifer back. To me, Jennifer has always grounded Jack and the character was never able to explore other options.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for this to be true!!

Matt Ashford as Jack just BELONG on DAYS IMO and with a new headwriter and all of his friends and family still in Salem, it just makes sense. Sheffer would have did wonders for his character.

If we have to recast Jennifer just to get Matt back, then I am ALL for it. However, I agree not right away, maybe in the 1st part of 2007, but let them be of-screen for a few months THEN bring him back with a recast.

Its not like them leaving was a permanent thing, it seemed more temporary to me than anything ESPECIALLY with Abby staying behind!

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.
