I got a phone call, what was Rebecca's secret? And I'm starting to really like her. I don't think they'll kill Justin. Maybe POW or a goes MIA or something like that. I just don't think he's going to die. I loved the Sentor's crazy family. It gave him a little more life, IMO. Made him seem not so stuffy (though, he's being doing a good job of not being being so stuffy lately.) I liked Rebecca's mom losing the bitchiness too. Really great episode. Sally Field if f'ing brilliant.

I love Ent Weekly but I think their current main TV critic is [!@#$%^&*] (Gillian F--)--she gave Ugly Betty a C+ for being "goiod but overated" or some nonsense which is not hwo you review a show. However she did change her mind on Bros and Sisters (as nearly all critics who kept with it did) by Xmas calling it one week her fave show that week. SOme of her points were valid--and the show took a while for me to gell (I stayed iwth it cuz it had promise and creator Baitz is a fave playwright of mine)but I thought even then the review was a bit harsh

Brilliant finale.

As for Saul--I don't think he's necesarily gay but he did have a relationship of some sort with that guy--beign with Holly could show he's still in the closet, or was just using her to hide, or... a myriad of things. It's interesting--my mom has two high school male friends one who is now openly gay the other is married but had (the gay one has told her--and apparantly ti was obvious) a gay relationship with the other as late teens. Once he got married he cut all ties to the other--though my mom and other friends suspect there are still strong feeling shter ehe's denying--it's complicated and a neat twist in the show anyway.

Anyway if he does come out- fully--I dont' see him, at least for a long time being comfortable enought o go do gay things with Kevin or whatever :P

Eric Winters is still a bit too perfect looking and acting for me (I want SOME flaw) but I did like him much more this time. However how the [!@#$%^&*] are him and Rob Lowe SOOO perfect and "normal" and their family SOOO crazy party animals? It's true we didn't meet their parents (where were they?) so maybe they're "normal" too

Oh and way for Baitz to name drop his ex boyfriend's show Wicked YET AGAIN (he was basically married to Joe Montello the director of Wicked)

She basically told Justin that Joe didn't act alone with the kiss and that when she was 16 years old she had an affair with her teacher! Time went on and and his wife found out, as did Holly and everyone else. He moved to Chicago, she went there and lived in a hotel and they started the affair up all over again. His wife found out for a second time and the teacher killed himself.

GREAT finale. I teared up during the airport scenes. I can't wait to see what happens next fall with Justin in Iraq.

I love Kevin and Jason. Eric Winter is doing so great in this role.

Saul - I was surprised and still confused. That Milo guy was just an old friend? Why didn't Saul want him to come, and why did Nora want him to come? Does Nora know about Saul? Surely she doesn't - Nora can never keep a secret, especially after all those years. They did sort of drop the Saul/Holly thing though - they haven't had a romantic link since before Christmas break.

Not sure if I really liked Robert's crazy family - I sort of hope we don't see more of them next season.

Anyway - great show - I'll miss it over the summer!!!

Pretty good show. Shocked about Saul possibly being gay. I think he may be bi, since he liked Holly. I hope Justin doesn't die, he probably won't IMHO. I kinda hope Joe & Sarah stay together. I like Kevin & Jason together. Shame Eric Winters likely won't be back. Maybe they'll recast Jason? I do not like that the writers seem intent on making Nora and Holly friendly. They should stay enemies. What woman would befriend her husband's longtime whore?

Excellent finale to a great season, imo!

I think Saul is at least bisexual. I wonder if he was dating Holly out of interest in her or just using her as a beard. I got the impression that his relationship with Milo was not when they were in their teens but their 30s or 40s since it had been 20 years since they last saw each other.

Justin's farewell at the airport had me crying, too.

I wonder if Holly knows that Rebecca didn't really attend college in Chicago. I hope Rebecca keeps her word to Justin and tells Sarah about her part in the kiss.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I thought the Walkers jumping into the pool, where their father died in the first episode, symbolized the family coming to terms with his death and starting to have fun again. Imo, it was the perfect ending.

I just now watched the finale, one of the best finales I have seen in years! Sally Field better get some Emmy recognition and hope more people start watching next season as I think this show is TV's best kept secret.

Elaborate please; what gay things could Kevin do with his uncle!?;)

What a finale, what a fabulous show! How shall I gonna survive those 4 Walker-free months???

Unlike most of you for me the biggest shocker of the finale was not Saul. It was a nice twist I expected after the first scene of Milo but nothing compared to Jason 1) falling over Kev and especially 2) being a minister!?

I had to rewatch that scene numerous time because I was so LMAO when Kevin heard that Jason is a minister.

The McCallisters were a bit too much, IMO, to show the Walkers in a different light. NO family can be SO messed up!?

The Justin-stuff was just heartbreaking. Fantastic performances of Sally Field and Dave Annable. I also floved the Julia-scene at the beginning, thought the actress did a terrific job.

The ending was very bizarre but with the music and the context it made sense. Great finale!

Nice sideline about the finale in connection with the premiere.

- title: Patriarchy - Matriarchy

- subtitle: William holding a speach - Nora holding a speach

- changes: Kitty moves back to LA - Justin has to leave LA

- meaningful: William drowns in the pool - the family rejoices in the pool

HAHA slow to reply but I meant in reference to the person who posted Saul and Kevin could do "gay things" together (like shopping or something :P not sex)--it just doesn't seem to fit either character

Anyway for those wondering how the original Pilot for this show was--

when (from wikipedia) The Walker family had originally been the March family, and the original matriarch of the show was Iva March, who'd been cast with veteran theater actress Betty Buckley. The role was ultimately renamed Nora and cast with Sally Field.

The character of Kevin had originally been named Bryan, and had been cast with actor Jonathan LaPaglia. Like the current Kevin character, the Bryan version of the character was also gay, but had been married, and was going through a divorce. The Bryan incarnation of the character also had a child, and he and his ex-wife were going through a custody battle.

The character of Jonathan, the man with whom Kitty was involved as the show began, had originally been cast with writer and actor Dan Futterman Whom had previously acted along side each other as lovers in the popular film The Birdcage. The role was ultimately recast with actor Matthew Settle. Kitty's sparing partner on her TV show was played by, another thirtysomething connection, Peter Horton.

Anyway I've long wished the pilot would leak just cuz I love comparing things--and I guess there's little hope it will make the DVD, but someone did put up the promo with scenes from the pilot on youtube :) From the promo it looks liek all the changes were for the better (even if Kevin had had a son I think the "gay with the ex wife" story is getting more cliched than a gay guy who never was married on tv)

    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
    • Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show.  Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
    • Jon is stuck in a story that isn't popular but with Cady I feel like the issue is that she was clearly thrown in with no real purpose. I still don't understand why she pops up. I recall early on it being said she owned a spa but we've never seen it. That could've been an interesting location for people to meet. She also could've worked better as Smitty's mom, but instead we get this random agent of Dani's who pops up twice a month? A total waste. I mostly agree. I do feel like Jan could be elevated with a name soap actress, someone like Judi Evans or Kassie DePaiva comes to mind, but they're limited to who is in Atlanta. Keeping that in mind I think the current actress is fine.
    • It's great to see. My thoughts might be a little different, but for the most part, I am excited and interested in most of the storylines. Yeah, you're right. This is probably how she (Dani) normally acts. And, I do not like it!  I agree; this is another distraction while she heals her wounds. If I weren't an Eva fan, she helped me root for her even more. As I said a month ago, I hope they take their time with her modeling agency. I would love to see her face a few obstacles before becoming a huge success.
    • I like that there are a lot of local performers on this soap and I'm glad they've resisted so far on hiring too many soap performers.   Cady has been awkward on the show thus far and Jon seems to have polarizing as well. I say focus on the local talent and giving those people a job and exposure.. and leave the P & G soap opera performers in the past.
    • Who do you think would be good for the show among the ATWT/GL cast?
