AMC After 35 years of viewing..

:( I can honestly say after 35 years of viewing of AMC that I have finally been taken to the desert where there is not one character being shown AMC at present who has any real rooting value for me.

I had my old favorites Tad and Dixie( gone in their rooting value)

Erica (mired in the unaborted fetus)

David (back in Dixie mode)

Adam (lost in the realm of Kwak)

and the rest of the characters run in one big gray blob.

I pondered long and hard how this dilema has occurred. The end result of this rumination is that these characters have all been blenderized. They have become a pale imitation of what was once unique characters. It was the characters that drove the story and not some plot driven machinations. How sad to see my calgon moment served up as a blenderized blob on the canvas of my day. I guess that I will just use my Tide pen and clean this blob away by stopping any and all taping. :(

You summed everything up pretty well.

I feel your pain.

When I started watching AMC as a preteen, my fave characters were Ellen & Brooke. I liked strong heroines who tried to do the right thing and always perservered. Later faves included Jenny, Dixie, and Bianca. Currently, the show is lacking anyone with a sense of morality. I think Frons believes bringing back Bianca will fill the void, but I'm worried if McT doesn't leave soon that Bianca will turn as selfish as Dixie has.

I don't like TV shows of any genre that have nobody to root for!

It's sad. I don't even recognize my old favorites! They are all acting out of character. Characters acting out of character! One or two at a time I could understand but AMC is like PV on crack. It makes sense that the camera is shaky.

How far and for how long must the ratings drop before something is done about AMC?

Actually I thought David got more destroyed cause of Dixie than KWAK, and now the same thing is happening to Zach cause of Dixie, and Kendall's being destroyed cause of Ryan, same thing happened to both Greenlee and Kendall last year at the Ryan realm.

Jackson's being destroyed thanks to Jonathan, and so on.............

I quit watching this show a couple of weeks ago and haven't missed it, there's enough depressing stuff going on in real life; no need to be depressed even worse by a Soap. I wish that I had quit watching while Madden was buried alive..... :(

AMC is pretty much in the same quality category as Passions now, at least Passions has Tabitha and Endora as comic relief........

Here's to hoping that something changes at AMC, and the show gets back to what we all know it can be; until that time comes I can't watch it anymore.

It's so hard and sad for me to believe that this is the same show I used to run home from school to watch my tape , even when D&E weren't on. I always sat in class thinking of what was happening, and what was I missing. I couldn't wait to go home and watch. LOL

Now, I fear thinking about what's happening on AMC. I don't watch. Nor will I ever (as long as Josh is in PV) and I don't miss it. :(

I disagree about David though, I think from the sound of things, he's finally starting to be the David I remember him to be. But good lord did this trip to Dixieland mess him up.

Erica Kane as I know, love, and adore died the day they made her utter the words that Josh is her aborted child. Period. Everything that Erica Kane stood for, was taken away with one sipe of the pen. And now she's nothing but a walking violation, trying to get her aborted/transplanted f'ing miracle fetus to love her. Gag me.

My mom had AMC on in the delivery room when she was having me, and I was born during an Erica scene, so some might say that this show is in my blood. A part of me. Losing it was almost like cutting off a limb. But I refuse, refuse, to watch this happen to AMC. I'd rather remember it for what it was in the 21 years of my life, then think of it as it is now. :)

I was actually looking forward to erica getting to know her son until they added that !@#$%^&*] babe to the storyline. I'm now disintersted.
