Damn - I was enjoying the new look. Maybe they'll still have some sort of different look?

Yeah....I'm hoping they keep the "film" look with the old cameras. They can do that right? These are two seperate changes that were made? I know nothing about this kind of thing...

lol - I don't know how it all works either...but I do like the film look and I even like the up close, following approach they use. It was the just shakes they couldn't control....but I just don't want to go back to square 1 with the old/tired look that OLTL and GH still uses.

Fan reaction has been overwhelmingly negative to the new cameras (with mention of it getting those boos at the fan luncheon), but IA with those who said it's the shakiness that's bothering people. It's so bad somedays I cannot look at the screen without getting dizzy. The freedom of movement the new cameras brought was good, but the shakiness was so bad it overshadowed any of the good parts.

The "shakiness" of the show is not the fault of the directors. The directors are in the booth and give commands to their camera operators. They are not on-set actually HANDELING the camera, y'know?

When did I say that the directors handle the cameras???? I’m not just talking about the shaking, I’m talking about the direction as a whole. It’s definitely different - and I don't like it. It seems with the new taping technique they've decided to try different things.

Even if it wasn't so shaky, I don't want it and I won't miss it after it hopefully fades away. For the Rhianna episode, it was fine, when you're doing stuff like that - it's fine. Generally speaking though, I like having my soap look the same way it always has, something really comfortable about that - and I like that comfort aspect (especially when I'm not getting it from the stories and writing).

Good writing and stories will save a program, not the buzz-worthy, MTV-gen way they tape or film it (or don't film/tape it), and not special effects on flashbacks (looks at DAYS).

Breathe. I was not responding to your post in particular.

What do you mean, “Breathe”? Did I act angry or something? I just responded to you.

I liked the look but I support the change because the majority of fans wanted it to change back. They actually listened. And yeah to whoever said its good writing that will make a show more appealing....

I liked both, the hand held cameras and the digital processing. But obviously in the last couple of episodes, they're easing back into using the standing cameras mixed in with hand held.
