Game Shows
Buzzr is a regular part of my latenight TV viewing. Brenda Dickson was in a couple of episodes of Match Game the other night. Richard gave Gene the whole rundown of her storyline with Phillip and Kay. I also enjoy What's My Line? It's so charming to me how formal the show is with the tuxedos and gowns. Being on television was a big deal in those early years, when people still got dressed to go shopping downtown or to take a flight. It's also really sobering to watch the episodes right after the deaths of Fred Allen and Dorothy Kilgallen.

Fifteen
We have an old Fifteen thread buried somewhere around here. I was a huge fan, appointment TV for me Sunday evenings after church. Of course Brooke was my favourite character and I was heartbroken when she didn't return for season 3 and we got this basic Brooke bitch replacement who had a bratty little brother. I don't know if they're still available, but I'm pretty sure the entire series was up on iTunes. I met Ryan Reynolds at a screening of Van Wilder in D.C. and couldn't help but mention Fifteen. We had such fun mocking the accents when I was in 7th grade.

Old TV clips - misc.
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the piece. Read the Wiki where it's mentioned that Simon's wife's early death brought about his exploration of more serious issues in his plays. Did you watch Fosse/Verdon? I don't think we even have a thread about it here. At any rate, I highly recommend it and the Verdon-Fosses' relationship with the Simons is rather prominently featured.

And yet more news about our Erika... She'll be appearing on 20/20 this Friday discussing former OLTL castmate, Rebecca Schaeffer (My Sister Sam) who was killed by a stalker in 1989. https://michaelfairmantv.com/erika-slezak-to-appear-on-20-20-special-on-oltl-alum-rebecca-schaeffers-murder-that-changed-hollywood/2019/04/07/ Fairman needs to proofread before posting.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
That was sketchy when Adam gave the doctor a picture... from that [!@#$%^&*] eating grin on his face, I could've sworn he'd given her a pic of Steve Buscemi.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
Yikes, I saw the recap from last week... Adam shoving Alexis into the fire was brutal and absolutely irredeemable. It's also completely unbelievable that Alexis wouldn't communicate to someone, somehow that Adam did this to her. Having her wrapped in bandages and unable to speak oddly reminds me of the veiled woman they had enter the courtroom before they'd found their Alexis in the original series. In tonight's episode, Adam and Jeff had some lines about being cousins, and there was a line about Fallon sleeping with her cousin (Jeff). When was this revealed? Did Blake say something about Dominique being his sister? I had to run out mid-episode, and when I got back, Sam was talking to Cristal's brother about him also being gay... what the hell did I miss??

Some audio of that has survived, there used to be a clip on the AWHP. Something to this effect... Iris: (deliberately, voice quivering) I am not your child? Mac: (tenderly) Your mother and I-- Iris: (sharply) Don't call her my mother. Mac: ... we cared for you as though you were our own. Iris: No. NO. NOOOO!

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
I've had a pretty casual viewership, and it seems like the Friday nights when I was actually home to watch, the show wasn't airing. I've been a little confused by the schedule. At any rate, what bugs me the most is the way they fudge around with character relationships. Suddenly, Dominique is the Colby matriarch? And maybe I'm better equipped as a soap fan, but I don't think it's necessary to use outlandish story tactics when an actor is to be replaced. I still haven't watched all of the faux Cristal stuff, but they could've just replaced the actress. And now borrowing the O.G. Steven plastic surgery route for Alexis? The writers are probably grateful that they get to pull such stunts on an otherwise mediocre show.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Michael Graziadei (Daniel, Y&R) is in this evening's episode of 9-1-1 playing a not-so-nice dad.

Unsung
I really want to see The Jets, but TVOne is a premium channel on Verizon. 😤 "You Got It All" is my jam (and the best thing about Jaws 3). I Googled Jennifer Holliday's and found it posted (officially) on a theatre website. Was so glad to see it.

All My Children Tribute Thread
I'm all for a taut, extremely well-written limited run series. I use "series" in the British sense, I say start small, assess, make 'em wait, return with another round of excellent episodes. As much as I wish they'd harken back to the old days of After-School Specials and air some episodes on the network, I think now is certainly the right time to give streaming another go. My 89 and 90 year-old grandparents watched AMC from 1970 to it's ABC finale, EVERY day at lunch save for doctor appointments and vacations. They said they probably wouldn't watch it online, having to sit at a computer. And they didn't. They've never seen any of TOLN's episodes. I go to their house now and they're laid back in their recliners flippin' and skippin' all over Netflix and Hulu. What a difference a couple of years makes.

Yeah, I've noticed that the ends of certain scenes are cut short in the Italian edits. With two episodes edited into one, the show is really whizzing by. CJ loved playing Myrna, I wish we could've enjoyed her for much longer. I can't imagine that the show wouldn't have aired a title card when she passed, though I wouldn't expect to see that on an Italian edit.- The Joan Collins Fan Club

Marj Dusay's first scene as Myrna. It's interesting how in the Italian dubbed episodes, they always announced Marla Adams as the actress playing Myrna in the episodes where she covered for Carolyn Jones. But when Marj took over, they made no announcement, she was suddenly listed in the opening credits and that was it.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
Yes, you're probably right. Geesh, reminds me of how PBS airs two episodes of Eastenders on the weekend, it'll take FOREVER to get through a serial at that pace.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
I just caught the tail end of a Sunday episode. Judging by the fashions, the presence of Carolee Campbell, the appearance of Althea, and the closing theme music, I'd think these episodes are from the late '60s. I could be very wrong but hearing that different closing credits music really made me think it was earlier than the '70s- The Joan Collins Fan Club
- Best/Worst Network Promo Campaigns
I loved OLTL's "What in the name of Love?" promos in the mid-'90s. This warmed my heart. I just wish it'd had a better outcome. From my own YouTube channel, a trader sent me this years ago on a great tape she edited for me.- Any Capitol Fans Here?
Tyler McCandless is Air Force, he's introduced in the primetime premiere flying into Andrews where he's met with a hero's welcome. That got me thinking about his reception at the Capitol which would have aired in daytime the following week. I'd only seen clips, but lo and behold, the full episode (dubbed in Italian) was recently uploaded. The sequence on the Capitol steps with your dad begins at 45:17 💛 Here's a picture: - Any Capitol Fans Here?
