  1. I think the Kim of the GL Rauch Love Goddess days cared very much what everyone thought of her. She liked to ignore the critics but she cared. Now I think she is in a different stage in her life and likes doing regional theater and her family and doesn't care anymore and good for her. I could see GL if it was still on with a budget, having her as the oddball matriarch, like Bert Bauer with a pint of Jack in her, getting in everyone's business and I think Kimmer would be fine at this stage with being support and not THE STAR, and I think it would work quite well. Josh and Reva should have been support way before GL went off the air. They would need someone like Holly or Vanessa to balance her out as the sane other matriarch. Whomever said Deas did more damage..(well not Deas but Buzz) HELL YES.!! Though his domination was only a few years they were so HELLISH and reminded me of the worst of GL! GL back when Real Reva was running around was more balanced but remember it was filled with a cast of characters and actors who were just as strong with writers and producers who recognized that. Back in the day there was Bev, Maeve, MG, Parker, MKA, etc. Rauch and MADD either were too lazy or two afraid to step away from the formula... Josh and Reva break up, make up get involved in a weird situation and do it all over again. Rauch viewed the rest of the divas as too old ..MG, MK, so they were sidelined.
  2. Pam always wanted a red head for Reva. I can see that but can't imagine anyone but Zimmer of course. Yea, I doubt Kimmer is a homophobe. I am gay and at that point in "history" would have taken my 15 year old kid out of something like that..we forget how fast the world has changed and 15 is young to take that on. Though I think he would have been better then the annoying Luke we got. I wanted Shayne to be gay just to see Reva not like it (a twist the mom is reluctant but the dad is not) and blame herself before becoming the most obnoxious PFLAG mom on earth! Newman was so good with the younger actors that it would have been interesting. GL never needed a central heroine and, at their best both Reva and Harley were not heroines..they were complicated conflicted women..well until Rauch and Wheeler came along and made them perfect...(I actually like Wheelers Reva better then Rauch;s she came back down to earth a little.)
  3. I forgot Josh being drugged by his "shaving cream" and being outside the door yelling..."I love you !" to Cassie! I remember when we all made fun of it and its nice to know the actors felt the same way...RN:"Not my best acting" Uh, no one could have made that [!@#$%^&*] work.
  4. Yea, it was B&E and their "Story that has never been done on a soap before" mantra...(i.e. a major character is behind it all, not a day player.) I think it paved the way for Days later making Marlena the "Salem Stalker" I liked it too, but it just ended so badly, something Newman alluded to in the dumb jumping through paintings storyline. "It was fine, until I joined you jumping in and then it was just stupid." The NR storyline could have been saved if it wasnt for as Maureen and Zimmer laughed about..."I kidnapped all the kids and I was serving them hot chocolate or something." Holly threatening the moms was good and the "accidents" went a bit far but could have worked, but they had to go for the BIG ending and of course, Reva saving the day again...(it should have been Ed, Ross or even Fletcher.) I just wish someone talked about the stupidity of the island and the mob.
  5. Great..this is as close as its going to get of me wanting "my" soap people to be in a room drinking, talking about the shows and watching the paint peel...Kimmer..thank you! Everybody looks great..LK looks amazing, MG/RN look ageless...Kimmer looks great and love her voice and laugh.,.,miss it, and her sense of humor..and really how cool and gracious she is..(love her saying MG would make a great Juila Sugarbaker in a remake) Makes me angry what they did to Ross and what GL could have been if it had stayed on...he truly was the patriarch of Springfield. Loved the shout outs to Charita and Larry, who in college we all wanted as our dream grandparents. Absolutley loved the take on the crappy storylines..with Newman dissing the clone and Zimmer rolling her eyes at the whole thing...and hilarious "jumping into Cyrstals boobs to jump through time!"And MG talking about the "show dwindling down" and KZ nodding her head! More..More..I would love to see GA,MOL, JE, BC, the first Mindy, Lisa Brown, PS, MK ,and yes, even Deas on the next one.
  6. That person should have used the last name.."Chamberlin" instead of "Reardon" cause that was when Van was at her petty bitchiness! I remember after 9-11 and they had Hastings, as himself do a "Were getting back on our feet, heres to the first responders" speech at the end of an episode. A friend of mine called me and said..."Its going to be okay, cause Bob Hughes told me so." I feel everything's going to be okay cause Bob Hughes looks and acts great to this day!
  7. I loved the cast's obvious affection for Don..especially Kelley tearing up and saying he "smelled good" ( I knew he would) and reminded her of her dad. After watching that I felt like someone wrapped me up in a big old comforter!
  8. Yes..I thought Don looked and sounded great! And I have already forgotten certain people I worked with from ten year ago so... I loved how "normal" all of them seemed. I loved that Maura has the china from the Snyder kitchen, that someone mentioned that damn swing door to the bathroom on the Snyder set that bugged me for some reason, Maura having a beer...Scott saying "Hi dad!" to Don..Martha seeming the most serious and long winded of them all, her friendship with Hubbard..(as much as Lily annoyed me their Mother daughter chemistry was the best..sometimes Lily would have that look on her face we would give all our Mom's like "Mom, again with this???" ) The mention of Kathy Hayes being a prude but the most hilarious was the BH story of his underwear, and Kelley chiming in, "That was Helen Wagner every day!" and everyone cracking up...Nancy Hughes prancing around in her underwear. And damn, Kelley is doing well for herself..did you see that honking ass house behind her..I know she lives her in Chicago on the north shore so that aint cheap real estate. I am such a dork it made me feel so much better!
  9. That reunion was just what I needed during this crazy time in the world. Though I can' t could have gone all my life without hearing about Helen Wagner running around in her underwear!!!!
  10. Yea, its too bad they sold the rights to CBS so they could buy the RKO studio to set up shop there. Those Arnaz kids would have been billionaires! But again, who knows if the show would have been so huge in syndication to this day if CBS didn't own it and able to make money of it. Which leads me to ATWT..I don't think there was anyway to make money off of it or GL so CBS would not have been that interested. Also, remember, the clone was Babs Bloom's idea and the show really started tanking the more the net got involved.
  11. I had the hots for Deas Tom back in high school...I will forever be embarrassed that I thought a younger Buzz Cooper was hot!
  12. As an Buzz hater I felt he was always OTT. I can't blame this on Zimmer when we had to sit through Buzz on top of the diner chewing what scenery wasn't on fire..though agreed, Buzz did really go into over drive with the windmill arms during his Zimmer time. There was interview Deas did where he said Bruce Barry told him to tone it down, and from that day on he didn't really get into it. Oh...poor baby! I do think part of it was that Buzz was HIS character and more ripe for going over the top then Tom, a legacy character, nice guy lawyer from the midwest. Plus, I don't see Wagner, Fulton, Hastings, etc putting up with his screen hogging. I can't even imagine him in a scene with BevAlex and the looks of annoyance she would have had.
  13. Damn, Deas was so good in this..what happened to make him chew the scenery and for me to detest Buzz?? Colin is great too...the producers made a huge chance in recasting both of them. This Dee is snooze inducing.
  14. I never knew why they didn't just write Frank out at that point...he was so popular,? Frankie D was such a great actor.? What is wrong with writing popular couples out when one leaves..if the shows were so geared towards super couples instead of writing "characters" who happen to be in a relationship...both should go. The Eleni recast was bland and Frank as a character faded into the woodwork. Post Long Curlee writers and producers, especially Rauch, never got that Reva was never a sex goddess, she was a passionate women with an unapologetic earthy sexuality and had a good heart but made really bad choices, Reva's main problem was that men (mostly Josh) just saw the sex part and not that she was real whole person. She was not the Sex Godess that all men fell for as Rauch made her.
  15. I love the courtroom scene, and Lisa looking like she thinks she is in a 1940s Joan Crawford movie! I love that Elle and Bob are there to just looked shocked and mumble to the person next to them..though the thunder was annoying as hell and should have been left out. Lucinda should have been there to ground that in Lisa's face.."You thought it was me..and it was the maid, that he was DIDDLING on the side!" I wish Marland would have kept Lisa's McColl family..it was fun.
  16. Your right...I remember the promos..."Lisa's back and she is in the middle of MURDER!" with Eileen's dramatic close up of disovering Whit dead...(though how she could tell the difference...)I didn't think of that until later. Weren't they going to kill Lisa instead of Whit and that is why Fulton came back??? (or so she says...) Why would you kill Lisa and keep the boring Toupe with Dentures as we used to call him on?
  17. Yes, that was the house she lived in with Nick, which was kind of weird..but they totally remolded the house and this being Marland, he wrote that in. Was this after Whit was killed. Lisa is kind of cold to poor Jay who had his mother be revealed to be a murderer. I keep imaging how Fulton would play these scene. God crying Craig! I know there was a market for it but he was such a wuss crying all the time....
  18. I love watching the Bauer boys as action guys LOL.. Was this what Rauch was trying to copy when he had Matt and Josh try to scale that San Crud wall to "save" Reva??? Mike was always kind of sanctimonious..(would have loved him and BevAlex together...when he would discover her shenanigans "Were you just blackmailing Reva"?) Alex "Uh, no she was trying to share a recipe of hers, but as I have not developed a taste for skunk I had to pass." ) but Ed, he just looks like someone you want to eat some of his home made lasagna with in the Bauer kitchen and not let the night end there. Marland would sniff at that and say "Chubby Chaser!" : )
  19. That promo would have made me watch even if I had no clue what GL was. And I might say Ed was looking very DILFY in this commercial, something PS never was..Marland was a dumbass for that. I only watched a little of the Doctors before class and Zimmer was a site...its too bad she had to be REVA all the time..she played conflicted bad girl great..
  20. I liked that Lisa was acting "kooky" to disarm people, including that guy who she bribed...(I love it, thats a Alexandra Spauling move right there.) I think it was wrong for Marland to take away her family...it was cool that she finally had one of her own to meddle with. But really Lisa, that mansion is uglier then hell! I never understood why no one questioned how Betsy came back with not only a new face but an actually brain! HA...interviews with the cast say that Santos Artega was the opposite of Pa Hughes and always had younger women and married one. Now THAT would have gotten Oakdale riled up
  21. Lisa had a lot of fun stuff to do during this time, right after Fulton's return and Whit was killed off. She got to scheme against Lucy, investigate the murder, fall in love with Bob again, meddle in her children, step children and various young people living at the mansions life, etc. The show was sloppy and all over the place at this time but fun...(Betsy's hair made her look 45.) Also, Lisa was about to call Lucy a bitch in that line about the dog.
  22. Wow..I forgot how "pretty" Frank was back in the day. He played a good normal guy but they never figured out he couldn't do the angst or angry young man thing. I remember he and Mindy being kinda sexy together..much better then annoying Rusty. I wonder how Maeve would have worked with RR's Alan. In the later years I would have killed off Matt and had Van in the Alex role..asserting her power at Spaulding.
  23. I always thought that of Jonathon on GL...he always seemed that he would be up to be with anyone, but not for fun but for sick kicks and power over them...kind of Reva's sexual ID turned inside out. Holden would have been great as that also but soaps always had to do a boring gay storyline like Lily's kid where everyone is so bland.
  24. LOL..that was because it was located at the bend of the river, but yea, it was weird..they didn't say, "I'm stopping by Reva's house to blackmail her.." it was..."I drove past REVABEND...and saw Alan's limo parked outside!!!" It was like it was Southfork or something. They had to get rid of the Lewis house as it was falling apart. That set had been around since the early 90s as Van and Billy's house and they didn't have the money (the show) to maintain it.
  25. I wish some writer would of thrown in some Easter Eggs, and have Roger be behind a new residential developement called "Selby Flats" (so Alex could steal Khan's line "Sound like skid row!") or when Philiip had his really stupid plan to knock down Company (did we ever know how he just acquired the mortgage) and rename 7th street Five Points... And Victoria Foxton..you stole my heart with that gif of Chelsea being electrocuted when touching the mic...if only that happened each time...
