  1. Yes. You and Carl filled a status update of mine with recs. I have two pages worth of commentary from both of you. You'd be shocked at how many cat videos I've watched this week just to keep from crying. I'm all about Cole & Marmalade.
  2. LOL! I still have your and Carl's recommendations. I put them in a Word doc just so I would be able to pull them up at a time like this.
  3. I'm just going to have to save that for when I'm stronger. Maybe I'll watch it in between reading the CIA torture report and the Cleveland Police abuse report. Or maybe I'll just watch cat videos and Classic Doctor Who episodes while draining a bottle of vodka because I've hit my limit on humanity's ugliness for this week.
  4. Yep. She's the perfect victim.
  5. If he leaves a full written or videotaped confession then that would be alright with me.
  6. I wonder how many other "famous" women we'll hear from. First was Michelle Hurd, now Beverly.
  7. Good thing she did too. She knew enough to stop drinking and start making a scene. Somebody with no experience with drugs would've been a lamb to the slaughter.
  8. I've taken my fair share of sedatives. Believe me, that's true. Remember, she was drinking what she thought was coffee. If I gave you a coffee and after a couple of swallows you started feeling like you were drinking wine, wouldn't you know something was up? Also, you need to remember he dosed drinks with the intention of rendering the woman unconscious as quickly as possible. He was probably double or triple dosing them. I guarantee that if I gave you three or four Ambien, you'd be sick in five minutes and out in less than ten.
  9. Well as I read the comments on Beverly's piece, I get to take heart in the awful knowledge that my low opinion of Cosby's defenders was accurate. Sigh.
  10. I hope you're right. I'd like something in this news cycle to not live down to my expectations.
  11. This won't change a thing for Cosby's defenders but I'm glad she came forward. They can't claim that she's in it for the money or that she's angry because her career didn't take off.
  12. There were lots of bad decisions made by many of the women Cosby assaulted that doesn't make him less of a rapist. Clearly Cosby got a thrill out of rendering women helpless then having sex with them. It's obviously a power fetish since he had plenty of consensual sex on the side yet still felt driven to act out this particular scenario. There are plenty of people who probably would've indulged this fetish with him if he'd asked. Granted there was no internet back then but he was friends with Hugh Hefner of all people. Are you telling me Hef couldn't have hooked him up with someone willing to indulge in that form of sexplay for fun or for a price? But apparently consent takes all the fun out of it for Bill.
  13. Agreed. I have no problem understanding why someone wouldn't come forward especially in the age of social media. One of the assertions I find most nauseating by Cosby's apologists is the whole "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" line of thinking. I suspect that most of Cosby accusers/victims would've loved to have had their day in court but a lot of people worked very hard to make sure that would never happen. Even the prosecutor who chose not to file charges has gone on record saying that he believed the accusations but didn't think he could win a trial. That doesn't mean I'm letting him off the hook. His cowardice made it possible for Cosby to go on raping. But you can't blame the women for not coming forward because they did, but the prosecutor and Cosby's people made sure the charges would never see a courtroom.
  14. Well the LA PD is investigating one case that happened with the victim was still a minor. Apparently, that affects the statute of limitations in ways that I'm not clear about. On top of that there's a civil suit. So hopefully Cosby will finally be forced to go on record, be it in a deposition or open court, as will his accusers most of whom I suspect would be overjoyed for their day in court.
  15. Yeah Cosby's done. He may never see the inside of a courtroom but his days as the elder statesman of comedy are over. There won't be anymore fawning interviews, TV shows or books. He can keep touring but there will be no forgiveness. He will live out the rest of his days known as a serial rapist.
  16. Both. Numerous accusers have said that they blacked out after he gave them a glass of wine. http://www.vulture.com/2014/09/timeline-of-the-abuse-charges-against-cosby.html It was the 70s.
  17. Are you under the impression that there are special "women only" drugs for cramps? There aren't. Women take the same thing for cramps as we take for headaches and sore muscles. You've never asked a friend or coworker for a Tylenol?
  18. I just love the headline on this... Accused Rapist Cee Lo Green Defends Accused Rapist Bill Cosby
  19. I think she handled that well enough. She got a little to deflective but I think she did a good job of showing how conflicted the people who knew him as a good guy must feel right now.
  20. It's interesting to see people say that we shouldn't believe Janice and the other survivors because their emotional, mental health or substance abuse issues make them unreliable yet those people refuse to consider that maybe their issues are partially caused by the fact they were assaulted.
  21. You're wasting your time. It's impossible to push your way past the right-wing persecution complex. The only thing tougher and more impenetrable is Wolverine's skeleton. That said, I'm kind of glad that Lauten got her own criminal past dragged out there for the world to see. I get tired of people on both sides who retcon their own dirt then proceed to pass judgment on others. How many times do we hear people on their high horse start with "When I was a kid....." then follow it with tale upon tale of how perfect they were? So anytime that hypocrisy gets ripped away is just fine with me.
  22. Yay! Is it cherry picking time again? Excellent.
  23. Cosby will never come clean. He'll die obfuscating and dodging. I remember reading that some of the women are filing a class action suit against him. I hope that comes to pass if for no other reason than everybody having to go on record. Cosby's deposition alone would be fascinating material for any profiler.
  24. Fortunately, that's a decision we're all allowed to make for ourselves.
  25. I'm not talking about his personal life. I'm talking about his professional life. I'm talking about the horrible way he treats the people he encounters in the process of doing his job. We've seen writer after writer come out about Cosby being mean and abusive during interviews, cast and crew members of his shows are finally coming out to say how poorly he behaves, the fact that he wanted NBC to tell everyone to watch the Cosby show during the LA riots shows a stunning level of narcissism. Now add in the way he's repeated attacked and shamed other comics for their language or subject matter. Or the way he tried to get that AP reporter to sweep his [!@#$%^&*] back under the rug by saying that it would affect the reporter's credibility. Cosby's legacy has been holding himself up as an example of what other people should aspire to be. That deserves to be ruined. If I were talking about his personal life, I'd mention the fact that he's a cheater who tried to throw his own kids under the bus to save his own skin but he's hardly the first to do that. Regardless of whether you're looking at his personal or professional life, Bill Cosby no longer deserves the respect, affection or status he's benefited from.
