  1. That's what I've been saying to all my disappointed liberal friends. The only thing that matters to me is who will name the next SCOTUS justices. SCOTUS has been one of the biggest factors in so much of what's gone wrong with our government (Citizens United, Hobby Lobby, picking apart Obamacare, etc...) that there can't be any real improvement until the composition of the court changes. I truly don't care about anything else.
  2. Bill Cosby performed in Baltimore. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2015/03/28/bill-cosby-to-baltimore-concert-hecklers-we-are-here-to-enjoy-my-gift/ I'll be honest, I'm not sure who I find more ridiculous at this point, the people don't believe the women or the ones surprised by the people who don't believe the women. "Just remain calm,” he said. “We are here to enjoy my gift." I wonder how many times he said that to some barely conscious woman struggling to get to the door.
  3. To be fair, that old fool was her husband and he was killed two days after her son and his meaningless death was at the hands of a drunk abuser who she'd been protecting because of his supposed value to the community. If that doesn't change someone's mind then they're pretty much on the same level as Tyrese. Somebody needs to tell Father Pee Pants to look at the flowers. I'm really beginning to wonder about Carol. I feel like everyone else is dealing with the PTSD of being out there, Carol is finally processing the stuff from her marriage. It's making me question her motivations a bit. When she told Rick that he could be a part of the community and be honest, was some deeply dark [!@#$%^&*] despite her light way of delivering the line. I love the idea of bringing Morgan into the ASZ. Morgan and Deanna are alternate universe versions of Rick. Morgan is what Rick would be if he hadn't found a "family" while Deanna is what Rick was at the prison before the governor showed up.
  4. That's the reason libertarianism is an unworkable fairy tale. Libertarians by default are hypocrites. They want government out of their lives but they have no problem shoving it into someone else's.
  5. Thank you sweetheart! Cornelius Smith Jr. (Ex-Frankie, AMC and my wannabe baby daddy) just posted that he will be on Agents of SHIELD next week. In the last few weeks I've gotten to see both CSJ and TDS on my screen again. Twice! I'm a happy fangirl.
  6. More Tim Stickney news. He's going to be on The Good Wife and it looks like his dreads are back. He posted a photo on Twitter but I don't know how to embed tweets. https://twitter.com/drkthespis/status/580334076634271744 So happy to see him getting work!
  7. I can't stop watching.
  8. They've done a good job shooting around Sonequa's baby bump. Keeping close-ups on her face works well for where the character is and the idea that she's practically living in the tower explains why we don't see her at the house or walking down the street. Of course that baby bump is what makes me think she's the next to go. I loved when Rick looked up a Deanna and said, "Me? I'm the problem?!" Well do you see anyone else standing in the street and covered with blood screaming at everyone? Michonne was pretty much channeling me when she clocked him. This arc has made me wonder what exactly Rick and his group are fighting for. They seem incapable of moving back into civilized society. The Alexandrians are weak but it doesn't seem to have occurred to Rick that there would be a way to make them stronger that doesn't include staging a coup. What exactly does Rick want anymore? Does he want to be safe? Does he want to get back to "normal?" Or is he just so far gone he's incapable of assimilating in to any group? He seems to have decided that he wants to stay in the world of fight or die.
  9. Timothy D. Stickney (ex-RJ Gannon, OLTL) will be on CBS's Madam Secretary tomorrow night. He's playing a cardiologist.
  10. Of course it's a betrayal. They work to create a form of government that treats you like a second-class citizen. Actions speak louder than words.
  11. He's not going to become a Democrat so I wonder what band of lunatics will get to welcome him to their family. The libertarian party? The tea party? The Klan?
  12. Except he has now. He walked into Alexandria and within one day he decided to take over if they don't run things to his satisfaction. Rick isn't the Governor yet but he's damn close. He's been getting closer and closer to the Governor with each episode. Honestly I'm not sure if they are still good people or not. How many bad things do you have to do before you lose the right to call yourself good? (I think that's one of the big themes of this season.) As for Father Pee Pants, I predict he's going to go full on crazy. Like Lizzie did.
  13. Carl, I see your guy Aaron Schock is stepping down. http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2015/03/17/illinois-rep-aaron-schock-to-resign.html
  14. I guess we can assume Morgan shows up in next episode. R.I.P. Noah. You were the first newbie that I liked right off the bat in a long time. I agree with Vee ( I'll never get used to typing that) Tyler has a long, full career ahead of him but I think he bet on the wrong horse here. I think that Criminal Minds spinoff will implode like the last one did so I wish he'd stuck around. Father Pee Pants might be crazy but he sure ain't wrong. Everywhere Rick and his band of merry survivors go they eventually end up taking over and it usually ends with lots of screaming and destruction on all sides. First it was Herschel's farm, then the prison, then Woodbury, now Alexandria. I wondered what Maggie was thinking when she heard that. After all, she's seen it play out over and over again. Carol is already deciding who should live or die and now it isn't about the good of the group but her personal agenda. Of course, the Alexandrians aren't exactly a great group either. They have no concept of loyalty. No code whatsoever. The willingness of these people to abandon each other to walkers speaks to the earlier discussion of how weak they are, not just physically but morally and psychologically. It makes me wonder about the people they exiled.
  15. What's wrong with Bill's health? Obviously I missed some news.
  16. Wow. That's...umm... Okay.
  17. And that's what makes me think this is just a ring of pedos. That guy, Nate Bell, completely lost his mind for no reason so I suspect he's had some part in all this ugliness. I desperately hope that the Feds get a warrant for these guys' computers. They are probably chock full of all kinds of nastiness. This re-homing foulness is nothing but child trafficking. Harris also runs a "Christian" day care (that receives a ton of Federal money, of course) and earlier this year he pushed a bill that would say that child care centers no longer be required to sprinkler systems. I'm terrified that he's going to burn that school down to cover up evidence. This whole thing is disgusting from top to bottom.
  18. Behold Justin Harris, the Arkansas lawmaker who "re-homed" his adopted daughters to the pedophile that raped one of them. http://wonkette.com/578685/justin-harris-had-to-abandon-6-year-old-daughter-before-she-ax-murdered-whole-family (Note: Wonkette is a bit of a satire site but the news they report is real. I'm linking there because the article links to multiple local sources.) If you've never heard of re-homing, it's a practice where people who no longer want to keep children they've adopted just give them away. Reuters did a series on the practice back in 2013. It made me look at my friends who've adopted with a whole new level of respect.
  19. Cornelius Smith Jr (ex-Frankie Hubbard, AMC) was apparently on last night's episode of Scandal. I haven't watched it and given the subject matter I wasn't sure that I was going to but for the chance to see that man again, I will. Oh yes, I will!
  20. Oh it's definitely starting up again. Hilary attracts that kind of thing because, as I said above, she's not afraid to fight dirty. I do hope she gets a decent primary challenge. Honestly, I hope Joe Biden throws his hat in the ring. I know the guy is a gaffefest but he's probably the Democrat who speaks to me most on the issues I care about. Agreed. In fact the war chest is already there. Priorities USA didn't give serious money to anybody in the midterms because they're saving it all for Hilary so I think she should just keep holding out and let the Republicans claw at each other.
  21. Same here. I'm a Hilary supporter and I'll vote for her because she's a street fighter who isn't afraid to play dirty but the idea of another Clinton vs. Bush leaves me cold because people will just keep rehashing Bill and George.
  22. I saw a story last week that said Hilary would probably declare her candidacy in April. I knew then that someone would try to dig up a "scandal."
  23. It's a day that ends in "Y" so you know what that means....time for a new victim to come forward. http://jezebel.com/new-accuser-cosby-made-me-put-oatmeal-on-my-face-pret-1689142868 (Apologies for linking to Jezebel. It just seems the have the best description of this weirdness.)
  24. It's easy to forget how lovely Danai Gurira is. That smile after brushing her teeth for 20 minutes just lit up her whole face. Daryl, whether you want to stay there or not, take a [!@#$%^&*] shower. You have access to hot water and soap and you are surrounded by your family. Take advantage of it. I really hope that Alexandria becomes a long-term thing. There's a lot of story potential in trying to rebuild a society. Like for instance, how do they deal with natural death? That old couple isn't going to live forever. When one of them kicks, they'll turn the other and then what? It's a little disappointing to see Rick slowly morphing into exactly the thing he's afraid of. He's basically turning into the governor.
  25. If Eddie Murphy can return to SNL, Meloni can come back to SVU.
