  1. Yes! The little that they gave us with Emily vs Tyler was great, so I hope there is a full-blown rivalry. I wonder if they'll ever go as far as having Daniel actually have sex with Tyler. It's not strictly necessary for the story but would be, to say the least, shocking. Can't wait to see Tyler get crazier and crazier.
  2. Just caught up with episodes 5 and 6. This show is perfection, with the slight exception of the whole Declan/Charlotte thing (but they're not horrible, just less interesting and entertaining). I love that they took these past couple of episodes to deal with the fallout from all the previous episodes and to set up a whole bunch of other stuff. Emily/Daniel and Emily/Jack are both frigging fantastic, and I'll be happy whatever course this takes. Emily and Victoria continue being the two baddest bitches ever. Love Frank's sexy voice. Frank beating up Lydia was shocking soap at its best, just like when Tyler beat himself up to make it look like Daniel attacked him. He sure is gonna try to rape him one of these days, isn't he? Loving how Emily's revenge is spiraling out of control. I was so afraid for Nolan, but we know he's sticking around. I wonder what Frank will do to Emily!
  3. Haven't seen last Wednesday's episode yet (Grrrr) but an AWESOME spot for REVENGE just played during Housewives. It was seriously great.
  4. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
  5. Wow, Emily, you crazy bitch, how fucked up was it to lock Michelle in that container, just like you were locked up in an asylum? Brilliant stuff! Everything is coming together, gelling more than ever. I am slowly liking Declan more each episode, though not because of the actor but because of the writing. And Tyler... am I right in getting gay vibes from him? It seems like this may be the classic triangle with one person being an evil bitch only, this time, it's a guy lol At least I hope so. I really do think each episode gets better and better. And with the news about the pickup and the better ratings, I am very happy!
  6. A great episode. It is SO enjoyable watching Emily get her revenge. And it's funny that both REVENGE and RINGER had their heroines have a nightmare in which their true identity was revealed. As well as something to do with jewelry that connected them to the past. This is getting more and more twisted and I'm loving it. Declan won some major points for not sending Charlotte the video, though I have no doubt this will come out later. Oh, I think most of those are seen as soaps even by the people who run them but the problem is that, because of the bad humor and the stupid music, they often fail as both soap and comedy. It's just jarring how the tone shifts from funny to dramatic without any of them seeming legitimate most of the time (and I'm saying all this despite loving most of the shows you mentioned!). According to the creator, after this REVENGE cycle ends, another one will begin, then another, then another. Not sure how they will handle it. Maybe it won't even go on that long! lol That was such a great little moment. Victoria is such a nasty bitch. But she was also humanized a bit. LMAO! It was a pretty amazing move. A great episode. 7. I wrote a review for the first episode of Season 6 as I'm watching it for the first time. Dunno if anyone's interested, but here it is: SEASON 6 EPISODE 1: BUYING TIME You have to admire the way that they plot this show. In essence, not much happens in this episode (especially if you compare it to the frenetic pace of Seasons 4 and 5), but the slowing down is extremely essential in depicting the myriad aspects of that terrific Season 5 cliffhanger. As it is, that one event has led to several plot points: Karen's shooting and surgery, Abby's kidnapping, Gary's reaction to it, Val and Ben’s shaky relationship, Diana's confrontation of Mac, Greg’s political moves, Laura's involvement; everyone’s swept away by this one cataclysmic event and the episode wisely chooses to depict each and every aspect they can. Particularly touching was Mac's journey. There are several wonderful moments, such as when Michael stands next to Mac. Mac realizes that Michael needs support and hugs him. Later on, Diana throws Mac out of the house, only to find him at the hospital and tell him she is willing to give it a try. Mac hugs her as well. There are also those glances that Mac keeps giving to the kids, full of guilt and self-reproach for what he has done to their mother. And, of course, that heartbreaking, bawl-your-eyes-out scene were Mac goes into Karen's room and silently whispers that he loves her and that he’s sorry; it’s to do with “Laura's Theme” playing loudly, tugging at the long-time viewer’s heartstrings and reminding them of The Lie and Sid’s accident, as well as that single tear rolling down Mac's eye. Touching stuff. Talking about touching, quiet scenes, there is also one where Val is looking at babies, when Ben finds her. It’s not exactly explained, but it seems as if Ben instinctively knew where to find Val. The ending is not so nice, however, since Val has no other option than to explain that she still has feelings for Gary. Of course, the episode has its fair amount of action-packed stuff: The apprehension of the (wrong) limousine, or that terrific scene where Abby manages to call Gary only to be interrupted by Olivia and not get the chance to tell him where she is. Olivia was very close to becoming a Booger because of this but you can’t fault her motivation. What kid wouldn’t run to the phone when they know their kidnapped mama is calling? But maybe Olivia should be more worried about the fact that her brother has a new face. (Sneaky). Speaking about new things, I enjoyed the fact that, while kidnapped, Abby still found the time to stop by for a quick haircut. Greg also has a new haircut. At least Karen doesn’t. In the meantime, Laura's floating around, irrelevant and relevant at the same time (which has always been a big part of her charm). Cathy surprisingly calls her and Laura offers to have her back. In a sweet walk-and-talk scene (I still get lesbian vibes from them. They’re especially strong from McCashin and I can kinda see her doing that on purpose. But I’m probably just making that up.), Cathy tells Laura that she is tired of being a recurring character and wants to settle in the credits with some new abusive man who will give her tons of storyline (shhh, I don’t know this!). Weirdly, Alec Baldwin is in the credits but doesn’t make an appearance. Neither does Lilimae! Not, that is really weird. Oh, and we don’t get to see the cul-de-sac at all. Like, weird! The ending scene is soap opera genius. Simple and to the point. Lee, who has been camp even when unconscious, settles into a terrified look as she asks the rude-then nice-then rude-then nice doctor to tell her everything about her case. In a brilliant move, we learn that there is one bullet fragment lodged too close to the spine and nerves, which will move (we don’t know when), will cause numbness, paralysis and death. Somehow, this prospect, this threat that could materialize at any moment, is light years more exciting and terrifying than a straight-out paralysis. I cannot wait for the moment were Karen first starts experiencing symptoms.

  9. I really love that article because it captures a lot of my thoughts as to why I love(d) Y&R. There are a few points I wouldn't exactly agree with; for example, I don't think it was ever uncomplicated. How can you say there's "too many possibilities" and also claim it was uncomplicated? And, also, about it not being a tapestry... Hmmm, not sure. I always felt characters were appropriately involved in each other's storylines and there were always strong friendships. Finally, continuity... Yes, the weird time jumps can be jarring but I have a feeling continuity was based on how well the stories were plotted, no character changes or forgetting of events that should not be forgotten.
  10. WHAT? lol I'm glad I'm not the only one, it was very eerie. Damn! And I was so excited lol But I'm sure it'll stay on.....! I wonder if it would be best to just end it after the 13 episodes. I really enjoy the fact that it's not the typical, haha, full of irony, whimsical soap that ABC makes all its shows be. It's straight out, serious soap.

She finally made a video for Someone Like You and it's breathtakingly beautiful and shot.
  12. Four episodes into Season 5 and I am absolutely. loving it. The new characters so far, Kyle, Taylor and Samantha are amazing, each of them unique in their own way (well, Kyle maybe less so, but he's great to look at). The pace has slowed down a bit, there's more character moments, it's well-plotted and it has synergy. Really happy about it until now. Not too excited about Samantha being paired with Billy. She's so light and fun and I feel he's going to drag her down. But Taylor is brilliant. Lisa Rinna's the [!@#$%^&*] (I never thought I would say that!) and the way they're playing with her and her past with Peter is brilliant. Just cannot wait to see where this goes.
  13. God, I am really, really loving this. Emily Van Camp has proven that she is perfectly cast for this role. She is absolutely amazing. Loved the way she got revenge from Bill, that was wonderful. Felt bad for Declan--I am not the biggest fan of the actor but OK. Daniel... such a sweetheart. I could stare at his sweaty brutish look all day. Nolan was amazing. I am really liking him. Such a great, fun character. And I enjoyed the Frank/Victoria thing. Is it just me or does it feel like there's some kind of something going on between them, romantically? And they also alluded to some dark secret; I don't know if that's connected to the REVENGE plot or something different. By the way, I had the weirdest experience watching the episode. Some of the music reminded me of Alexandre Desplat's music for HARRY POTTER 7 and 8, which is weird in and of itself. But, when they cut to the title sequence and the title came forward on the screen just like the HP ones, I was freaked . SO weird.
  14. Yes, that was on purpose, lol So, it got 13 million viewers? Wow. Hope they keep it up.

    ^Freaking amazing.
  16. What is this craziness? Bravo may cancel NYC?
  17. Started Season 3 of NEW YORK. Changes galore! Lu Ann--crazy, oblivious bitch. I'm shocked that Bethenny is all of a sudden hated by all and not "in" with the clique. Still love her, though. Ramona--I can't believe I used to not like her. She's amazing. And she looks wonderful. Any of you experts can tell me if she indeed didn't have any plastic surgery? Because she looks great. Kelly--I spent a whole episode not hating her! Surprise. Jill--I spent a whole episode annoyed by her. Also, surprise. Alex barely registered--and I didn't even realize Simon was not there!
  18. It's part of the plot!
  19. Because it actually has potential and it's a very enjoyable, solid hour of entertainment. Van Camp and Stowe are amazing in it, there are some interesting characters/faces and it is very nicely shot. Will it catch on? Maybe yes, maybe not, but at least it stands a chance. I think previewing the pilot like that can definitely cause good word of mouth.
  20. Just saw the pilot; it was great, dark and very promising. Emily Van Camp absolutely, totally rocked it. I love her character (there's a scene towards the end that I really enjoyed, character-wise). Even though the general concept of the show has been done before in foreign soaps, it felt fresh, fun and exciting. And very nicely shot--there were some slo-mo moments that were totally captivating, among other greatness. Madeleine Stowe was also great. A perfect balance between evil bitch and real person. Scenery was beautiful and the writing sharp--nothing mind blowing but produced excellently. I really am curious to see how, and if, this evolves. Will be reading the script as well to compare!
  21. Emily Van Kamp sucked horribly on BROTHERS & SISTERS but she seems to do well with better writing (i.e. EVERWOOD). But chances are she will blow this. As for the show, the trailer was quite the pleasant shock. ABC has been doing all its primetime soaps in the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES quirky "comedy" mold so it was a nice change to see a trailer that suggests a more serious, dark series. Let's see, and hope!
  22. If I remember correctly, they postponed the actual explosion for the beginning of the next season. And I agree, it really did work for the best. That ending was cliffhanger genius. Meanwhile, just finished Season 4. Was the Richard cliffhanger shocking if one was unspoiled about it? I enjoyed the Jane/Sydney stuff and it was a fun episode, but Jo/O'Malley? Ugh. Not terribly excited with Kimberly's condition but it was OK. The most exciting stuff was Amanda marrying Peter and then finding out that's not him! I had no idea lol Will be starting Season 5 soon.
  23. I finished Season 2... I now love love LOVE Ramona. I love her Ramona/Ramina incarnations. She's so much fun. Bethenny continues to be great; she's fun, honest, tries to stay out of [!@#$%^&*], reasonable and has that undercurrent of sadness that is very appealing. Absolutely great. Jill is still fun as well. LuAnn... well, the cracks are starting to show. Alex turns into a whole different person when she's with friends, listens to them and gives advice. While I do think she and Simon have a great partnership, he seems to feed into her worst self. That bordello house was outrageously bad. And Kelly... my God, can this bitch be any more delusional? She really does not get it, does she? Though I was shocked to hear that she had this whole stalker crisis going on while the show taped. Nobody deserves that. Speaking of the reunion, that was crazy. Absolutely crazy. I guess if it works for the people who post more regularly, it works! It just seemed to be a bit chaotic and confusing... but, then again, so are the Housewives themselves. Season 3 starting veeery soon.
  24. Oh, dear.....!
  25. Yes, I'm now up to episode 5 and she seems more comfortable and is loosing up a bit. I like that he is being slowly integrated into the show and doesn't take up too much time immediately. Soaps should take note of this! lol What a difference an episode makes! I've been seeing Ramona with a very different eye lately and I quite like her now. But with all this countess crap LuAnn has been pulling, telling Bethenny she hopes they airbrush her for the cover of the magazine etc... What a bitch! I went from loving her to wanting to kill that Aristocratic Ho! Does she get worse than this? OMG. Alex had this scene with Bethenny, where she listened to her problems and gave her advice and she was SO likeable. And then she turns around and does stuff like not move out of the house for a little while so that the kids and she and Simon don't have to live in a death trap while their house is being renovated. I mean, how STUPID can you be? And, on top of that, they're writing a book on child rearing? WOW. Btw, this one-thread-for-all-the-shows is a mess!
