  1. It's a bit odd that nothing has surfaced from it considering the popularity of Peyton Place - hell, you'd think the prime time special at least would've survived somewhere.
  2. I can see Jamey Giddens fitting into Ron's writing team. Take that as you will.
  3. I'd assume that the bottom line is that daytime has always been about being able to churn out a product on daily basis with a very set budget (even when there was a budget). While there's obviously been very creative people who've come from daytime, it's not exactly the place that encourages creativity if you fail to deliver a product so many probably fail out under the pressure of having to deliver something daily, while a lot of people who can not only keep delivering a product but also come in under budget have an easier time failing upwards. I assume DePriest is someone who kept failing upward.
  4. Also, since you're a bit of a nerd about this viafree.se (Sweden) puts up five episodes of DAYS Mondays at 9am weekly. The recent batch of episodes are from July 2 to July 8. For whatever reason the episodes are numbered 14137-14441 instead of 14449-14453. They can be found here: https://www.viafree.se/program/drama/vara-basta-ar They also call it "Season 27", but that has to do with that they originally started airing the show with a four year delay in 1997 (so "season 1" are 1993-94).
  5. RHYMES WITH
  6. TBF, gay men are often uncomfortable with the emotional part of bisexuality so it's a bit of a given that Ron won't go there.
  7. Scandinavia too - though it's on services like viafree.se.
  8. To be fair, Tripp is basically turning into Austin Pt 100, but I'm not sure writing your male characters like JER is any kind of goal. I guess I at least haven't started wondering how Tripp even manages to dress himself.
  9. I guess this must be a scene from the final or so episode? It's Susan Sarandon's character talking about the christening of her son with Augusta Dabney (?): The music is absolutely hysterically loud.
  10. I mean, I'm happy that it doesn't seem to mean that they're a year ahead in scripting at least. I do wonder if it'll potentially screw up with international broadcasts though - I guess I'll find out and see if it airs/streams here on time in November since we're around two months behind these days. For those purposes I'd assume it would be more efficient to call it 14169A.
  11. Honestly, I wouldn't mind it if they'll just Mike Horton her a bit and let her age freeze for the foreseeable future. Belle should NOT have a 20-something daughter, so I wouldn't mind it if she's still in her "early twenties" if the character goes on a break for a few years and comes back as a recast.
  12. Weird that it's numbered #14442? Surely they can't be almost a year ahead in scripting?
  13. Pretty much - there are a lot of stories about Patrick and Larry playing "pranks" on set and while it makes for cute stories, I could imagine it getting tired really quick especially after filming for ten hours.
  14. Going by the released spoiler pics, it unfortunately seems like they just re-dressed the regular sets. I had kind of hoped they'd use this Peacock windfall on investing on sets (which would benefit the main show), but I guess Eileen Davidson doesn't come for cheap.
  15. I just don't get why they had to add that in at all. Did anyone really wonder if Theo and Ciara fucked? Did anyone care if Theo and Ciara fucked?
  16. No, that's Keith from One Tree Hill (Craig Scheffer). I noted the fact that he looked like a Steven replacement at the time when I watched it.
  17. Oh wow, that's a rarity, but having watched the European cut version they make it look way more interesting than it was.
  18. I think in theory it sounds like a great idea - why wouldn't fans of a soap opera watch a 90 minute show? Add in that overall it's less expensive to do 90 minutes of one show than to do two / three shows. It's a bit like the thinking about the never-ending expansion of TODAY, except you know, soap operas doesn't function like that.
  19. To be fair, when Alexis enters in season 2, she's not the Queen of the Universe that they would later write her as. She's a sociopathic monster who makes Krystle have a miscarriage and almost kills her out of spite and doesn't feel the slightest bit bad about it. She's dressed rather modestly instead of the later glitz-and-glamour that she would adopt once Cecil died. She was essentially a snake in the grass in season 2.
  20. I mean, considering the main complaint with Ann Marcus was that she burned through story quickly, maybe expanding it to 90 mins would've worked under her?
  21. Maybe they'll come up with a contrived way to keep Abe as the father (something something Rolf)
  22. I'm calling it - Paulina's Lani's mother.
  23. Honestly, out of all the shows I'm pretty surprised that CBS would choose to shuffle Love of Life to 4.30PM - if anything everything about it screams "your grandmothers soap" and old-fashioned even back then, so I'm not sure what they were playing at. I know they tried to introduce a college set, but it's very much a show that I feel wouldn't do well with the supposedly younger demographic watching in the late afternoon.
