  1. Pretty much - I don't care what the rules are as such, it just has to be somewhat entertaining at this point.
  2. It helps that Ben doesn't have a long history with John (they've barely interacted) + it plays into the stroke John had which led to him having outbursts. So it's not completely out of the realm that Ben would believe her and even think it was possible because of above factors.
  3. They're keeping Sami at the Horton cabin? Pretty sure Sami can just kick a wall down at this point to get out then. I assume it's Lucas that's kidnapped so we can get more Lucas / Sami trapped scenes.
  4. Great that they're adding back a bit of the Horton house - I guess it's that Peacock money at work?
  5. Well, it'll be Duke the bears fault for dressing so provocatively and being available if she does.
  6. I guess we could hope for a Kate Mansi / Marci Miller situation where Ron finally ends up writing the character more in line with the original portrayal once he's seen the OG actress in the part. Like other people have said, ED's Kristen was never psychotic or most of all that impulsive (like stabbing Victor). Insane, yes, psychotic, no.
  7. I think they might be saving his guaranteed appearances now that Sami returns?
  8. I think that was the issue - it's not wrong re-visiting it, but they couldn't have everyone be THAT naive again; the first time around it sort of made sense because no one knew how far Sami (and Lucas) could go, but the second time around they really should've had a hard time with tricking people. I mean, even Ron had people being clued in that Sami and Lucas were up to something this time around.
  9. I think the character just quietly moved out of town. Not sure if it happened on screen or off screen between seasons (LR died June 1992).
  10. I guess Vanessa on Love of Life is a major one here. She never had children of her own, but step-children I guess.
  11. I think they were always going to be rather short runs, at least Our Kind of People since Monarch was always coming. I guess if OKoP had somehow been a huge hit they might've shuttled off Joe Millionaire and put Monarch on Thursdays though. Big Leap is dead as a doornail, but I'd say a season 2 is a toss-up at this point for OKoP. Really depends on how Cleaning Lady and Monarch performs.
  12. Melrose Place's original idea for the season 3 cliffhanger was that Kimberly was supposed to kidnap Sydney and fly a small plane into the building - because someone then crashed a small airplane into the White House lawn in September 1994, the idea was nixed. Of course they then went with having Kimberly blowing up the building and then had to delay the explosion to the fall because of Oklahoma...
  13. We've discussed Mike's problematic SORAS-ing a few times in this thread, but either way, he's infamous for being SORASed in the early 70s to a late-teens/early twenty-something and then remaining vaguely "twenty/thirty-ish" through out the 70s to the 90s when he was finally paired with Carrie and rode off into the sunset. Roark Critchlow did reprise the role in June 2010 so they haven't forgotten about him as such, but I think due to his messy history they kind of end up ignoring him.
  14. Has Rafe had any real personality traits though? I don't think I've ever truly placed Rafe in a box as such... more that Sony/NBC/Corday likes Galen Gering and likes to keep him around. He's an odd utility character that normally wouldn't last two weeks and here we are over a decade later.
  15. Oh that ending was sneaky.
  16. Nothing will ever top Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story. If she even tries I'm sure Deidre will have her booted from the show.
  17. 100% this. It also made all interactions with Lucy really awkward since they couldn't really mention the fact that they had screwed around.
  18. This is why it's stupid to announce you're leaving. BTW, this isn't an airport.
  19. Here's an oldie - a broadcast episode from January 13, 1967:
  20. Yeah, I just don't think the writing for this show is very good if we're being quite frank. I'm surprised because I thought Empire and Star were solid, even if they could get messy.
  21. I mean, in a way it makes sense since she willingly let herself be possessed to save Doug. I guess the logical thing to do would be to run for an exorcist, but I assume she might be afraid the Devil would just possess Doug again? I agree they could make her motives clearer here.
  22. Yeah, exactly. If I had seen DS during the original run - ie no way to rewatch, possibly missing episodes because there was no real way to record them and if you missed them, you just missed them, I'd probably just have assumed that David befriending Adam happened on an episode I missed. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if I eventually would've *remembered* it happening since out memories are so malleable and your memory can fill stuff in. I know for ages it sounded like we actually saw Addie push Hope's baby carriage out from harms way on DOOL, but apparently the actual scene was her going outside and everything happening off screen as an example. But the way people talk about it you'd easily believe it happened on screen.
  23. I've often wanted to start a discussion on that very subject, but I've never been sure how to put it down without sounding like a right tit. But it's a thing I've always wondered about - how many of those great stories we hear about in oral history of soaps actually happened? But English isn't my first language so I have no idea how to put down a proper discussion about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  24. Will "Always Say Yes: The Sami Brady Story" be available to stream on Peacock?
