  1. Brady and Belle were born in 1992 and 1993 respectively - they were then aged to their teens in 1999 (so around 15-17); right now they're supposed to be in their mid-to-late-30s but are obviously in their mid 40s/early 50s. Oh yeah, it's also worth noting that Sami witnessed the conception of Belle on the Basic Black board room table and also kidnapped an infant Belle to sell on the black market. DAYS pretty much has the worst SORASing on all soaps I think.
  2. Wow, what an exciting promo mentioning taxes! Really makes me want to tune in.
  3. Well... So I guess he always meant to be Elvis, they just changed gears early on.
  4. Yup, Neil's last scene was supposedly talking to Victor about Carly and saying that he had to go and see some patients. I guess he got locked in some janitor's closet and has been there ever since.
  5. Honestly, I don't have as many problems like a lot of people have with the show - like the Devil being wildly inconsistent about his powers. I guess also currently watching Dark Shadows has made me sort of accept those kind of inconsistencies as long as the show is still enjoyable. The biggest issue I have with DAYS is that it feels strangely stale - things are technically happening but they don't really come across as changing much. As I said, a lot of it just comes across as moving chess pieces back and forth. I mean, if Ron wants to write a fast-paced soap opera with supernatural elements, I'd be down for that - just saying. Just no more huge bears chasing women with scissors.
  6. I think the issue with DAYS is that they just seem to be moving chess pieces back and forth. This is why I hoped that the devil would at least wreak some long-term havoc on the canvas and shake it all up a bit - unfortunately, everything the devil does haven't really had any long-term effects so far; I guess Paulina being revealed as Lani's mom could count into that, but not really because Paulina just went from being a mother figure to her to being her mother. That's not to mention dumb plots like the obsession with that damn bear.
  7. Well, at least the Duke gif seems to be gaining traction on social media, so it's doing something for the show I guess.
  8. They didn't save money - Ana Alicia was paid for all 22 episodes of season 8 PLUS the additional five episodes where she appeared as Melissa's doppelganger since her original contract stated specifically that it was for her playing Melissa, so they had to draft a new one. With that said, I'm not sure if the implications that Ana gives are true - Kristian Alfonso was married from 1987-91 to Simon Macauley. Sure people have affairs, but there's been no indications that it was the case here..
  9. I guess Ann Howard's fate on Peyton Place was up in the air - there are some things pointing that she was pushed by Lee Webber and some things indicating that she might've jumped herself off the cliff. Like a lot of things on Peyton Place it was never 100% confirmed either way.
  10. Well, Joe is 86 years old (turning 87 in March) - unfortunately, not everyone is Doug Hayes so I'm pretty sure he's retired as his work has been very sparse since he left DAYS. And despite being on the show for 15+ years it does feel like Neil is all but forgotten, so I don't see the point of bringing him back if they didn't do it when Sarah re-appeared. lol, it just struck me how much they de-aged Sarah as Linsey is seven years younger than Sarah's birth on screen, much less her being a teenager at the start of the 90s.
  11. Jack, DOOL. After being killed off a bunch of times and having his organs donated, he finally realises that life is too short and opens up an LGBT friendly chicken place in the Horton Town Square. But in all seriousness, I do agree with what a lot of people have said - the difficulty is that you'll inevitable say that the characters previous "love of a lifetime" pairings weren't so true at all. I think it would work best for someone who either has been a constant presence, but never really had much focus with their own storylines or someone whose "straight" pairings have failed and maybe has been more of the buddy/best friend schemer rather than the passionate love of a lifetime thing (Lucas does fit here, as did Sami before the EJ pairing took off). And don't get me wrong, I like Lucas and Sami and don't necessarily think all soap pairings have to have that intense "love in the afternoon" passion.
  12. I don't think it's impossible that ABC is actively looking for a female-appealing prime time soap as such - I mean, Promised Land seemed like such an odd outlier to order when they actually had hyped pilots like Triage, National Parks and Epic. I wouldn't completely rule out them taking their time to look at the Pine Valley script with the co-vid chaos of the last two years.
  13. Thank you! My thoughts exactly. The story of someone who is older coming out of the closet after a long marriage isn't the issue. The issue is that it's being done because Kevin Spiritas is gay and that it retcons the nice aspect of Nancy/Craig's marriage (ie a man who is attracted to plus-size woman). I think a lot of people are often hyperbolic when it comes to soaps in general these days, but this truly does suck.
  14. To be fair, this exit created more drama in the sense that Xander moved on with Gwen because he thought he was dumped by Sarah, but at the same time he wasn't. So there's actually a love triangle there that's at least somewhat complex where no party is exactly wrong (well, except for Gwen for keeping Sarah's whereabouts from Xander). I don't mind them taking a while for Sarah to return tbh - I just hope this isn't another case where Sarah will end up popping in and out of the show a la Ali Sweeney.
  15. Maybe DiMera's have some sort of evil gene that just randomly quicks in at one point, you know, like the stupidity gene on Simpsons (which only affects the males)? So EJ's just been waiting for this moment...
  16. Bombed in the ratings. 253k viewers and 0.04 in the A18-49 demographic.
  17. It certainly doesn't help that he threw so much behind Queens only for it to do so disappointingly. Add the bizarre push for Home Economics on top of that. Pretty much only Abbott Elementary and the Steve Harvey reality has done ok from his launched shows.
  18. Interesting. I assume it'll deal with the current day decline of soaps too.
  19. I'm just happy we have a courtroom set again! From watching Peyton Place during the pandemic, courtrooms are always good for drama!
  20. Doesn't surprise me that Montgomery (born 1933) was also considered - it's obvious that Krystle was never meant to be that much younger than Blake as the age never really came up when you look at it. Of course, by casting Linda Evans (in her late 30s at that point) they could do a pregnancy plot, but it was always about the lower-class secretary marrying into a wealthy family - not the young hot trophy wife that we see in todays modern media.
  21. Does this mean Trask is put on contract? I like her and the show needs non-Horton/Brady/Dimeras on the canvas so I'm happy.
  22. I don't think it's surprising that they developed it with Linda in mind as she got her start on The Big Valley and Dallas very much had western undertones in it. With that said, I can't see her as Pamela Barnes Ewing either - it would be interesting to think of what direction Dallas would've taken with her in the role though. Angie Dickinson was originally the one they wanted for Krystle in Dynasty btw.
  23. I was wondering how Bellamy Young fit into this...
  24. This is just such soapy goodness. I was pissed that Eve's character was killed off. I lol'd at Lil Muffin suddenly deciding to become a lawyer (though they'll need one I guess).
