Dark Shadows Discussion Thread
The 1897 week when Laura finally goes up in a blaze is something: Monday - Laura is about to kill Barnabus Tuesday - Laura's about to be killed Wednesday - Laura's magical fire powers kill "Angelique" Thursday - Angelique turns up again Friday - Laura dies by mystical Phoenix powers Too bad they didn't do the Angelique/Laura conflict earlier as I enjoyed their banter.

Yeah, the whole "Lucas kidnapped Sami to make her love him" doesn't really make sense - well, less sense than usual is maybe more correct.

Dynasty: Discussion Thread
I really enjoyed the "special" season premiere/holiday special episodes - too bad it's not back for another 11 weeks! It'll be... interesting to see how they handle the Rita storyline. By all accounts they seemingly know that the premise is a bit ridiculous so they're not spending a lot of time trying to explain it.

Days of Our Lives –Weekly Preview (12/20/21)
So I guess it's confirmed Lucas kidnapped Sami?

And Just Like That...
Honestly, this series works for me purely of the fact that I already thought these women were horrible human beings and seeing And Just Like That just cements that fact. Carrie is just a horrible selfish little bitch and the Natasha storyline cements that. I'm not sure this is what the writers intended me to feel, but I sort of enjoy it.

Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas’ Holiday Movie Discussion Thread
The only way the strip scene could've worked is if they actually broke the fourth wall and acknowledged that it's actors doing their parts. Now it's just... weird. Not a huge fan of the "breaking the fourth wall" as a story device, but if there ever was a scene that needed it, it was that.

It actually feels awful, but I think you put the finger on what bothered me with Carrie/Rafe. It was porn all along, god damnit!

You know Ron is dreadful enough to recycle old porn scripts.

If you're taking it personally, then maybe you should calm down with the "OMG dickz on DAYSz". But sure report it and make a poster of it.

Give me a guy with a personality any time of the day over abs. Especially if that personality involves not raping.

Lucas has enough scene partners too to bounce off (Kate, Phillip etc) and haven't really worked in any other pairings... so yeah, I'd say do Lumi and have Lucas on the cell/visiting Sami off screen while AS is doing movies.

100%. The drag on Beyond Salem was fun because it was a novel idea plus Sonny and Will can come across as quite the pair of squares at times, so seeing them loosen up a bit was fun. But don't overdo it (which they will, I'd assume Ron'll run this drag thing into the ground until we beg it to stop).

And Just Like That...
See, this is why it works for me - no, not the notion that Samantha was so offended by Carrie dropping her as her PR, but that Carrie is completely oblivious to Samantha's feelings and is all about how SHE is being SO nice and how SAMANTHA is being UNREASONABLE to HER, the GREAT Carrie Bradshaw. I'm sure that's not how SJP thinks it comes across, but that's exactly how it does to me. Carrie was always an adult brat and often lacked understanding of other people's point of view so it suits her character in a way.

B&B Major Character Recast!
I kind of assumed she had a pixie cut or something, not a cute bob.

I'd assume this is a way for them to check if it's possible to use DAYS as a way to drive more people to sign up for premium.

B&B Major Character Recast!
I'd assume they're using the wig so that people her alikeness is closer to Hunter Tylo. Hopefully they'll ditch it soon enough and just say Taylor had a haircut.

And Just Like That...
To be honest, I'm not sure if I would've done things much differently so far with what they've done with And Just Like That considering what they had to work with - but that's the issue when you're working with a property that was seen as progressive at its time, but probably not so much today. Having the ladies face some realities is to me a given - I mean, these women spent most of their 30s in bars wearing fabulous shoes while also having careers; then they progressed to marriages and moving in rather exclusive circles. That their reality is crashing with a new reality feels a bit right; if anything the main criticism of the Sex and the City movies were that they tried to relive their golden era and not pretend like anything has changed. Carrie making slightly snide comments about Samantha felt right - not that it means Carrie's in the right, but that Carrie's kind of selfish and usually tends to see things from her own perspective. If that was intentional or not is another matter, but it's also kind of what often gets brought up with Carrie's character and certainly at times in the OG series like when she's the other woman, but only really worrying how it affects her. I said it before, but the show does need to adress the fact that Carrie's an aging woman in a dying medium. She was in print media when they could probably afford having a well-paid columnist mostly lounge around in bars writing about her own life; these days, not so much. I assume that's why she'll end up moving into her old apartment; no way she can live the life she and Big lived together on her salary. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Carrie's work mostly brought in pocket money for them. (Also, I hope Aiden does not come back; Carrie does not need to get tied down to another ship-heavy coupling)
