  1. I think the fact that there's a subsection of Passions' Wikipedia titled "Sexual violence" says it all. 💀
  2. I was referring to the role CC occupied in the press/media rather than on the show - she was fairly popular with the press and general public, so I think they brought on Eileen in hope that she would fill that void.
  3. I'd assume they knew Crystal Chappell was leaving at the time they were hiring Eileen, so they were probably hoping she would take off as a young female romantic lead since Carly had actually managed to become popular despite being an obvious Hope replacement. Of course, she really didn't become the popular female romantic lead they were hoping for which probably allowed JER to make her batshit crazy instead.
  4. I think the plan for The Salem Stalker storyline was very simple - first, do a shocking storyline to drive the ratings. Two, get rid of cast members/characters he felt he had no use for and free up characters that had been stuck in couples for decades. I think it's fairly obvious he did not originally plan for the Melaswen stuff, so I'd be curious as to how he was going to make Marlena innocent (no way he was going to write off his precious Marlena).
  5. I hope we go into February sweeps with Marlena being pregnant by her grandchildren's Satan babies, violently shooting them out in the middle of the Horton Square where the Satan Babies attack and eat various useless characters faces. In the aftermath, Kristen finally becomes the talk of the town when she opens Face-R-Us and sells masks to the Salemites who got their face eaten, while Marlena is cast out of town wearing a boulder around her neck. Go JER, or go home Ron.
  6. Indeed. I don't mind Stacey and if they want to make her a long-term viable character on the canvas then I say why not since Eileen isn't interested in doing it full time. Hell, I thought making her and Lani friends was a good idea to ground her character a bit, unfortunately it seems like Ron can only switch between two extremes with Kristen and it's not working. I think he (and the show) needs to decide if they want her long-term in Salem and be able to mix it up with others, or just have pop-in visits that Sheila usually is on B&B. If it's the later, then they might as well give the part back to Eileen because I feel like she can do more subtext with the character because of her long history with the show.
  7. I don't think it's Lindsey - I think you can sort of see an Adam's apple and the brow seems to pronounced for it to be a female.
  8. They actually made a christmas movie called "Middleton Christmas"?!
  9. To be fair... Bart is actually a memorable character and one of the more recognizable DiMera henchmen, so that's a no. I'd say Ron should go digging in the Anderson family tree for pure randomness.
  10. Good call - I'd say it's Justin Melvey - actor playing Ray - Sal - Chandler (not visible in the picture) Zach Tinker - Greg Rickart - Victoria Konefal.
  11. I'd guess Chandler is next to Sal, hence not pictured. Then followed by Zach and Greg in the bottom row. Can't really find a current head shot of Justin Melvey, but it could be him next to Marci, depending on what haircut he sports these days: http://www.justinmelvey.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Gallery17.png
  12. I think the issue is that Colin does sound more interesting and memorable on paper than he was on the show - so I guess this is a problem with Ron specifically; he likes to give nods to history (which is sometimes good), but since he's never been a fan of the show he can't really filter who is relevant and not. Oh well, I'm waiting on him to bring on Susan Martin as a rival to Julie. Geriatric love triangle ftw! You know... I wonder if this has anything to do with the whole "can't bring back Peter" thing the show has in place. Colin was involved with Jennifer, so it wouldn't surprise me if Ron went out looking for a Peter substitute in the story.
  13. Well, Ron supposedly posted #colinmurphylives so I'd assume that Justin Melvey could be one of the males on the third row.
  14. Yeah, I remembered him when I looked him up... but he just wasn't a memorable character overall. I think this shows the weakness of Ron if he's bringing him back - Ron seems to love to dig into history, but at the same time he hasn't got the history with the show to judge if someone's really relevant to bring back.
  15. I actually had to look up who the hell Colin Murphy is. I agree, but I was never a fan of the OG possession storyline either. But at least Deidre looked like she was having fun with it and Drake and his eyebrows were at least taking it seriously. With that said, they could've used it better so far - I feel like there's been so many storylines that are standstill and characters that are stuck in the same rut that they could've used "the devil" as an excuse to shake that up.
  16. The thing is, that the devil could've been an easy excuse to reconfigure the canvas and use the devil's influence as a tool to drive new plotlines and have people that you necessarily wouldn't expect in storylines together. I doubt it's over as of now, the devil hasn't done much. I guess he influenced Lucas to kidnap Sami? And the Jan thing, which might or might not have long-term consequences if she ends up pregnant. But most things the devil's done has been quickly wrapped and resolved within a week or so. I think they should've gone all out on the Charlie/Ava thing. Have Charlie murder that mob guy, nobody believes Ava that it was Charlie and she goes to trial. Use some of that Peacock money to invest in a proper courtroom set so that we can get out of the police station.
  17. 100%. And let's be real here, both Lani and Eli are supporting to other people's storylines right now, but not to the point where it would be impossible to write around them if they're not available on certain days. They're not driving any storyline on their own at the moment.
  18. I don't exactly blame him for prioritising All American since it's a prime time gig. Considering Victoria Konefal is "recurring" I'd assume we might barely notice he's only recurring - I'd just assume he wants to be available for AA and not have to turn them down due to commitments with DAYS.
  19. Could be. He recently appeared 2 episodes in a row (4.6-4.7) on All American, so maybe they're amping up his recurring role there a bit which takes him away from DAYS.
  20. Imagine if Mardevil and Eric have sex and Marlena becomes pregnant
  21. I'll assume Jan is pregnant and that it'll be her 100th "get-out-of-jail" free card.
  22. So, is Jen back for the time being or is it a pop-in visit?
  23. I wouldn't go as far as getting rid of the Horton's, but when they did the time jump I did think it would've been an ideal time to say goodbye to a bunch of characters, try to straighten up the family trees to make them less confusing and properly reboot the show. Corday would never ever allow it though.
  24. Wouldn't surprise me - Ashley Hamilton had the name recognition of being George Hamilton's son, who of course had played on previous Spelling productions like Dynasty. It might have been that Spelling pushed him as a favour for Hamilton plus the name recognition, but when it turned out he sort of stunk they went with Ciberian. He was recast after a month or so.
