  1. That boggles my mind even more. If about three of them plan on retiring, why does it matter anyway? And I am NOT letting Schumer get off so easy as folks are saying he's tied into the negotiations (too), but voted "no" to keep appearance. AOC needs to go ahead and prep for that seat b/c it is hers for the taking if she plays her cards right. All the others who aren't retiring, I'd start a primary process NOW. Weak Dems needs to be eradicated from the party starting now. Tonight displays why we need to adapt to a multi-party system. The 2 party system is killing this country as you have a set of wimps on one side and a set of corrupt figures on another.
  2. Now I don't feel bad for having warmed up to Noelle's Lily. That aside, the eight Dems to cracked tonight to a CR are: Sen. Angus King (ME) Sen. Tim Kaine (VA) Sen. Maggie Hassan (NH) Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (NH) Sen. Dick Durbin (IL) Sen. John "Stroke" Fetterman (PA) Sen. Jacky Rosen (NV) Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) Primary them all NOW.
  3. IDK. I would not count Katie out just yet. Bravo acknowledged that the fandom was behind her at the reunion. And she has a firm ally in Tamra, too. Even though Andy was on Tamra, he knows that the OC cannot function without her there stirring the pot, as the seasons she wasn't present were received horribly. I don't think they'll do a shakeup just yet as it is the 20th season.
  4. Adding another one... making Henry James' insta-son was a lazy rewrite, too. Yes, James was a lothario, but after two insta-flop sons (David & Jordan), James didn't need anymore kids. Poor Lynn Herring being wasted in that crappy role Henry's mom, Audrey, made it no better. ATWT becoming GH-lite in casting that last year didn't make sense to me at all. Then putting them in roles that made no sense was even dumber. I still say they missed the boat by not making Stuart Damon a recasted Don or Grant for Lisa to get her happy ending. And Billy Warlock could've been Scott Elridge or Caleb Snyder along with Wally Kurth being a Seth Snyder recast. But another topic for another thread.
  5. This was a cute montage to Todd McKee/Ted. I never understood why they dropped the Ted/Laken "Romeo & Juliet" arc, which had tons of mileage had they stuck to some of the stories projected in the bible. Phasing out the Lockridges (minus Lionel) and other families who rivaled the Capwell along with being too Eden/Mason/Kelly heavy plays a pivotal role in why the show had a hard time past '88. From what I've seen, Ted always got the scraps. I wish that they would've used that had Ted become the jaded Capwell who Mason previously was. That might've enticed TM to say in the role longer.
  6. Katie did OK at the reunion, but she let Gina/Heather/Emily off too easily. Especially, Emily and Heather (as Heather was the one who provided the information to Emily about Katie losing custody of her kids last year). I am ready for Matt to come out there and ether Jen and Gretchen, as I feel he'll have no mercy on their asses. Kudos to Tamrat, who finally won me over. I enjoyed watching her poke holes and call out the hypocrisies in the group. When she mentioned Shannon recording people and Shannon instantly wanted to change the conversation, I gagged. I continue to hope Tamra runs them all ragged. Jen... ick. When the women get back on her flat ass next season, I hope Katie sits back and let them eat her alive.
  7. I need to go back and revisit the Cecile return arc back in 1995, but they didn't know each other prior to Bay City, did they? I always heard they didn't. I did like how they teased Cass being a surrogate parent for Maggie, but that's all he needed to be. But as you pointed out, Maggie was stupidly written off in that horrible trust fund/fake my death story. I was not critical of Maggie shift from sweet ingenue to vixen b/c if I am not mistaken, didn't Cecile make the shift when she first came on and was jilted at the altar? I didn't mind Maggie being a vixen like Cecile because she was peeved that Nick was fixated with Sofia. I do think it should've been paced better given how she and Tomas were built up to be the young supercouple prior. Yes, Josh Griffith was behind Theo (if I am not mistaken). He seems to have a knack for undoing history to meet his plot instead of using history logically. And the rewrite was pointless because Theo amounted to nothing was instantly ushered off. If you were going to undo history like that, they might as well had used Theo as a vessel to bring the Brooks back to the canvas. It still boggles my mind how Chuckie, Jennifer, and Brooks have not been brought back when they are a nod to old Y&R and literally blank canvases to do whatever.
  8. Agreed. But again, this show was determined to tie Dylan to the Newmans somehow. I feel like they are throwing Paul a bone by making it his, too, as Paul was all but irrelevant at this time. I just think it was lazy overall. If this thread does anything, it shows how plot trumps character to many of these "writers" (and I use the term lightly).
  9. Y&R: That Stuart (Brooks) and Dina had a secret child who then birthed Theo. I just felt that was stupid. After all the hell Dina put her family through from running off eons prior, she'd continue to lie and hide the fact that she had a secret child too? And with Stuart Brooks of all people? Had she had a child with a man abroad, OK, I'd buy that. But Stuart Brooks? C'mon... ATWT: Rewriting Larry McDermott and making him an embryo snatching creep. Larry was a decent, upstanding guy and having him steal Emily's embryo for some stupid, pointless character was stupid. Emily didn't need another child as she had Daniel, who could've provided tons of story. They should've just SORASed Daniel and called it a day. ATWT: Adam Munson. Another character who was re-written to fit the plot and given a whole personality transplant. I thought it was disgusting how they turned this once, beloved character (with tons of ties across the canvas--a writer's dream) into a deviant who attacks women. I am sorry but the son of Hal and Margo (Tom, too) would NEVER to do that. Just one of the many unforgivable acts Jean Passanantate stupidly penned. Y&R: The "conception" of Dylan. I know it is before my time, but I feel like this is a story that played a pivtol role in my mom shutting off Y&R for good. My mom remembers the cult arc with Nikki and Paul, and ain't no way in h*ll they had a child that Nikki gave it. It was a stupid plot in an attempt to latch Steve Burton's dopey character to the Newmans. The easiest way they could've done that was to either tie him to Matt or Casey. Y&R: Phillip being brought back from the dead. Anything consisting of this entire arc (starting with Cane coming to town) was stupid and destroyed decades worth of foundation of this show. Yet another blow to the Jill/Kay rivalry that kept the lights on at Y&R. And I don't believe that Phillip would've skipped town b/c he was gay. Jill would've been elated that Phillip was gay and not latched to Nina outside of Chance. And Kay had a semi-homoerotic relationship. I doubt either of them would've cared. Y&R/B&B: Anything involving Sheila post-1998. Her having a baby with Massimo was stupid. They seemed to fix it when she went back to Y&R on 2005, but it was quickly undone with the Pheila arc. And then bringing her back on B&B without addressing anything really from her past is boggling. It's like Sheila is zero focused on Finn or Deacon, and we supposed to forget about Mary, Diana, and the terror twins? Also, do we seriously believe Sheila would not be trying to get a hope to Lucy, her grandchild. All the layers that made Sheila "Sheila" are gone. AW: Maggie Cory's paternity. It was already a big arc back in the 80s that the father was either Jamie or Sandy before it was discovered that Sandy was the dad. Then Maggie comes back to the show and is on the show already for about 2-3 years and in pops Cecile who then decides that Cass was Maggie's dad. Meanwhile, wasn't Cass not even really Cecile's orbit until after Maggie had been conceived? It just made no sense along with Cecile didn't need to trap Cass via a child. Cecile's natural temptress ability would bag Cass. All they had to do was a simple seduction story where Cecile seduced Cass as he grew anxious and bored about the marital life. I feel like this arc ruined Cecile and later Maggie, who had a personality transplant for the worse.
  10. Meh. This trailer did nothing for me. I'll occassionally tune in, but I bet it'll be another season of 15 filler episodes and 3-4 episodes having actual content. It looks like to me, Amanda, will be the one to carry the season. It's sad when a newbie has to clock in and make folks work. It's giving Monica all over again. And I am not shocked about Jennifer growing tired of Sutton. Jennifer cared more for Garcelle than she did Sutton last year.
  11. Unfortunately, I think when Angel catches the hint, Bravo will have made their minds up and she won't be returning. She might get a second season, but I doubt it. Bravo tends to be unforgiving to duds on RHOA and RHOP. Meanwhile, you can be a dud on the other franchises and get multiple seasons.
  12. Garcelle sought advice from Nene and Cynthia prior to joining. But she should've listened to Nene more on how to read them heauxs down on BH b/c they needed a good tongue lashing after the Jax matter. That always irked me how Garcelle let Erika off so easily. In that moment, Garcelle should've peeled Erika's scalp from her skull. I think the picture filtering moment and her not accepting Gizelle's apology is going to be the downfall of Angel. Tia is a sure lock for a 2nd season. Angel, not so much. She is about to become a casualty.
  13. Angel is frustrating. I want to like her, but she gotta stop letting K dictate her mood. I will say though folks think K is done for but she isn't. She is well insulated in the group as all the women minus Wendy, Jassi, and Stacey love her down. And she has Karen. If anything, K is going to fall to the second season curse, but will still be invited back. Angel, on the the other hand, better get it together the second half of the season and show out at the reunion. Otherwise, her flute to be handed off to Monique. Karen already has a guaranteed flute.
  14. God, Alexia is dumb. But oh well. This'll just lead to them keeping Adriana's side and scrapping folks on Alexia's side. Good.
  15. And they used to laugh it off b/c the leak was always the same couple of people--Jill in the first 4 seasons, and Sonja up until the reboot.
  16. Bravo won't reveal it b/c it'll make production look incompetent and show the women's intention of trying to run Tamra off again. I better not hear another show making a storyline out of someone "leaking" to the press. They ALL do it. It comes with the territory.
  17. Nope. You're on point. It is time. I hate to say it. I think we've gotten all we can get from Y&R AND B&B. Honestly, I'd settle for 3 new, thirty minute soaps with BTG being the only hour soap.
  18. And that's where I feel the issue lies. The show has written itself into a corner when it comes to Nikki/Victor that people won't be able to imagine Y&R without either of them. I honestly think when they retire that Y&R might have a good year or 2 survival rate after that occurs. That's why I said earlier, CBS needs a backup soap(s) to fill that void.
  19. The leads on the show should literally be Noah, Fen, Theo, Summer, Kyle, Claire, Mariah, Tessa, Holden, Abby, Chance (if not killed off), Lily, Nate, and Devon. They should also be starting to build up the umpteen hundred Newman tweens, too. This issue with Y&R is that there TOO many veterans. A lot of them can go. Seriously. I mean the show was built premise of youth, and there is no youth really driving story on this show at all. It is just a mess. Again, I don't see how this show is going to survive once Eric Braden, Melody Thomas Scott, and Peter Bergman are gone. It's already running low on fumes since Jeanne Cooper passed and Jess Walton retired.
  20. I don't like that Katie didn't get a finale update card. I truly think that production and these women are trying to phase her out, but can't so easily because the fans are behind her. This is why I keep saying Bravo needs to implement a clause in all contracts that if any cast member tries to "ice out" or halt production of a show should be fined heavily initially before termination. If you can't film with someone, get off the show. It's that simple. The only instance I'd accept is Kandi's situation where Phelony needed to be put on pause.
  21. Someone suggested that he do some of the GL sets through AI. I don't think he got around to it.
  22. I do think Y&R missed the ship with bringing Mari Jo back twice. First and most obvious time would've been when Stacey Haiduk was on the show. Instead of making her Patty, they should've made her Mari Jo. The other obvious time would've been when Cynthia Watros and later Cady McClain played Kelly. I used to like Shick but at this point, I feel like that pairing (along with many others) are dead. Like the ships have sailed. Like I don't care to ever see Phick. Or Chadam. Or Shadam. Or Ally. Or Villy. Or Phack. Or Lane. I feel like b/c this show totally scrapped the business/work aspect all all these characters do is bed hop every damn episode, I can't invest in any couples. If the show was to end tomorrow, I'd want many people's happy endings to gain a form of content from being alone. But this goes back to why I say Y&R has done a horrible job of transitioning the show over to the younger generation. It is going to be so hard to keep the audience in the next 5 years when (being realistic) Eric, Melody, and Peter leave the show. Victoria and Nick are stale and can't carry the show. Phyllis is annoying and most want her to go away much like Chelsea. People love Sharon but they're sick of her torture stories. And the Noahs, Summers, and Claries are so underdeveloped along with others that they are not going to be able to maintain an audience. Dare I say it, but CBS might need to start developing another new soap. But let me get back on topic. An opinion for another thread...
  23. @Antoyne I found the post! Here you go, friend! The living room is supposed to be Kirakis Manor
