  1. My only complaint about the set is that it's a little cluttered and cliche. They also had to wedge a piano in there for Leslie. It would be nice to see a servant extra bringing in drinks etc, There is the terrace and several bedrooms. All this for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile back in GC the Not so Grand Pheonix has the identical tiny 'suite' used for several characters. So Noah arrives for the wedding but no Reed? Surely a mention-perhaps he's not happy and doesn't want to come?
  2. Sandy was brought back twice in the 80's but the actresses were bland and there never seem to be much interest in her, which was a pity. Perhaps if Tom Jr was back for a few appearances to establish her better. The show should have made the preservation of the Hortons a priority, not an afterthought. Compare her writing to the attention Marlena (a similar character) got a few years earlier. If only Deidre had come on as Sandy, the Horton's would be in a much better position today,
  3. David Hasselhoff (Snapper Y&R) had a #1 single in Austria, Germany and Switzerland with'Looking for Freedom' as a result of Knight Rider's success.
  4. Wow! Poignant in a way to see all these things that she collected and treasured over the years . I guess her daughter took some stuff and the rest is sold off. I'm sure there would have been ATWT scripts and tapes amongst that. Wonder what happened to them?
  5. Which supports my theory that a lot of actors are interested in getting screentime ,whether it makes sense for the character or the overall benefit of the show or not. Which is understandable,to a point.
  6. Guiding Light Mr. ___ Richards David Hooks 12/1975-76 Chad's father; supported by Hope Bauer while Chad was in the hospital
  7. The talk of James Douglas in the AW thread had me wondering if he was approached to play Steven Cord in RTPP. Pat Morrow,Evelyn Scott and Frank Ferguson returned which leads me to believe that others may have been approached. Obviously Ryan and Mia would not have been interested and I can't see Barbara Parkins agreeing, even though her career stalled after PP. Ed Nelson and Christopher Connelly were getting primetime gigs. Dorothy Malone seems to have pretty much retired and Tim O'Connor I don't think would be interested in daytime. Obviously Ruth Warrick wasn't available. So that pretty much leaves James. He agreed the following year to AW and then spent many years on ATWT. Maybe he wanted to be in New York? Or didn't want to be Steven Cord again? Or possibly when RTPP began in 72 he wasn't interested in daytime but a slow year could make a difference...by 73 a steady gig may have held more appeal?
  8. Early 80's Nikki on Y&R. She provided the bridge b/w old and new Y&R. The cult, the stripping, psychos -it was the Perils of Nikki.
  9. Poor Ashland now spends every episode unspooling another backstory and begging Victoria to believe him. He really has been weakened. I get that being ill and having secrets uncovered could do that but the old bravado has gone, I can't imagine Victor in his prime acting this way-he would have basically said 'screw you' to anyone that made judgement on his choices or circumstances. It's funny but after all this time I always think how Heather Tom's Victoria would have reacted. This should be two powerhouses grappling with betrayal and double crossing each other while still in love. Still think Tara should have been involved as she would have known or had inklings of her his personal and business dealings.
  10. Jennifer Ashe. Marland wrote the incest story on Loving that featured her and had to be cut short under network directive. She then turned up on ATWT as Meg and got meaty storylines.
  11. Jada Rowland was married for 4 years to writer Nicholas Hyams and then to Michael Grassly who was a California surfer who sold surfing goods. Her son sparks Blue was born Nov 1 1974. In 1978 Grassly was murdered. Slaying Victim Is Identified Santa Cruz sentinel Oct 15 1978 A young man killed during a tragic murder-suicide in Capitola Friday morning has been identified as Michael Grassly, a 28-year-old sales representative for a local wetsuit company. Meanwhile, a young woman who was stabbed by her estranged boyfriend during the same incident was in stable condition at Dominican Hospital's intensive care ward Saturday. Kristine Hofshieir was taken from her Capitola cottage with a single stab wound in her back after her ex-lover burst into her home and discovered she and Grassly together, said Capitola Police detectives. The estranged boyfriend John Leslie Buckley, 33, 2695 East Cliff Drive then apparently committed suicide by jumping off a 100-foot cliff following the stabbing of Hofshieir and Grassly. Detective Tom Hanna of the Capitola Police Department said Buckley apparently had a key to Hofshieir's small bungalow and had let himself inside the home early Friday. Once inside, Buckley discovered Hofshieir with Grassly and stabbed them both, he continued. Buckley, the manager for NHS Inc., a local skateboard manufacturing company, had apparently been estranged from Hofshieir for about four weeks. Detectives said Hofshieir had become acquainted with Grassly during the past week and had been warned by Buckley not to see him. Officers are still unable to determine exactly events of that morning. Grassly was an East Coast sales representative for O'Neill's a local wetsuit and surfboard manufacturing company. Buckley had worked for O'Neill's before joining NHS. Private family visitation services were held Saturday for Grassly, who lived in Florida. He is survived by his wife, Jada Grassly of New York; a son, Sparks Blue Grassly of New York; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Grassly of Malibu; two brothers, David Grassly of Ocean City, Md., and Don Grassly of Venice, Calif. Interment is under the direction of the IOOF Cemetery in Santa Cruz. Local arrangements were handled by Arnold's Funeral Home, 1902 Ocean St.

  22. I was excited for a minute but this is 79 not 76 and has been around for a while.
  23. Another sub par episode IMO this week. Are there new writers? The Darlene sober sex story was awful.
  24. Have to give kudos to the production team for the Italian set. A lot of space and detail. Recalls Y&R of the past.
  25. She mentioned that when Kim took off for Greece and slept with Nick without the sanctity of marriage she received disapproving letters about her behaviour and Nick himself.
