HBO: Game of Thrones
Best episode of the season. I cracked up at the council musical chairs. Tyrion sitting opposite his father was a clever move. Ah, Podrick lost his virginity and very good. Kudos to Jamie for saving Brienne. He is a bastard, but he recognized that she is wonderful. Rob's uncle is played by the actor who played Brutus in Rome. It was fun how he kept missing the body with the arrow with fire. Ha, I see Dany using that slave army to take out those people in charge of that city and getting her dragon back. I also see the man insulting her dying. I thought it was sweet how Hot pie baked the wolf bread and ended up staying at the inn. It is his best chance to stay alive.

I agree. I think from Kirkman and the other producers' perspective, Andrea's actions were understandable, very human, and even heroic. I don't think that they expected so many of the fans to have such negative reactions to her. They clearly did not plan for her to die initially as I suspect they were following the comics in that regard and she was supposed to be Rick's love interest eventually. However, the negativity towards Andrea that they created from a poorly written story made it easier to sacrifice her. I think that this was unfortunate and they should have written back from the brink. Beth could have died at the prison which would have devastated Hershel and Maggie.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Larry Bryggman (John, ATWT) was on Person of Interest tonight. He played the bad guy. He looked odd. His face was discolored and his voice sounded weird. I think either he is or had been ill.

I cannot buy that as Martinez's reasoning. If it was, then he and the guy would have confidently jumped into the truck with Phillip. Instead, they both looked shocked, terrified, and apprehensive as they went with him into the truck. It made no sense. They could have taken out Phillip and still gone off together. All this said, I have no problem with Phillip living to fight another day, but there is no doubt that he will be back for his revenge.

Martinez and that guy could have gone off together and be tons safer than going with insane Phillip. They were dumb as hell for going off with Phillip who could turn on them at any time.

LOL! You missed Allen just standing there pointing the gun instead of shooting. Martinez and the other guy just standing there while Phillip shot all those people was ridiculous, but I could buy that they were in shock. It was them getting into the truck with Phillip that made me explode. WTF?! Who would go in the truck with that crazy-ass man? I would shoot his ass, drive off, and leave him.

Final ratings show that Talking Dead did beat Game of Thrones in the key 18 to 49 demo, not that it matters as much to HBO. The Walking Dead; 6.4, 18 to 49; 12,419,000 overall viewers Talking Dead: 2.6, 18 to 49; 5,158,000 overall viewers http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/04/02/sunday-cable-ratings-the-walking-dead-wins-night-game-of-thrones-the-bible-vikings-shameless-the-client-list-more/175901/

Damn, go TWD and TD! 6.4 in the 18 to 49 demo is crazy! I have to see the final numbers, but it looks like TD beat GOT in the 18 to 49 demo. TD was so good last night as well. I love Yvette and would love to see her four pages of notes. LOL! Wait, didn't Jack Peyton go to last night's TD? I cannot wait to hear what it is like being in the audience.

I would be surprised if they did not tell Laurie Holden until before they taped. If true, I think that was not cool. However, it does explain why she was not on Talking Dead. I don't agree that Andrea's death was a bleak message at all. It was tragic to be sure, but the group was saved and they took in the weaker residents of Woodbury which is a very human ending to the season, imo. I do agree that the writers were in a dilemma about how not to have our group slaughtered or decimated by Phillip's larger group. Quite a few people would be lost, much like in the comics so they decided avoid the problem by having Phillip kill all his people who were admittedly not battled trained, I do think that prison is much easier to protect than Woodbury which has all sorts of entry points when you only have a limited number of guards.

If Martinez does not get that Phillip is mad after he mowed down all those people, then he will. I don't think that Andrea was worthless and I still think that she could have been saved.

HBO: Game of Thrones
I did enjoy Tywin/Tyrion's conversation. Tywin is such a bastard. I felt for Tyrion. It is a miracle that he survived the cruelty of his father and sister, but then he did have Jamie. I read the NY Times' article on GOT. HBO's executives doe not sound as enthused about the show as I would expect and seem particularly embarrassed about its fantasy element. Very odd.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I have been thinking about the tragedy of Milton and Andrea's deaths. They were both decent people trying to hold onto their humanity. This is why Andrea did not kill Phillip in his sleep and Milton stopped her from killing him later in the torture chambers. Only for Phillip's cruelty, brutality, and madness to defeat them both. I was glad that Rick went to look for Andrea. It is what separates him and his people from Shane/Phillip. It was very sad when Andrea said that she was glad that Michonne found her people since people could not survive alone. If anything the Zombie Apocalypse has shown us anything, it is that we need one another. This is the lesson that Rick is going to have to teach Carl before he turns into Shane/Phillip. I am glad that both Tyreese and Sacha wised up to Phillip quickly and refused to be a part of his mob army. I hope that they get more to do next season.

I am glad that Martinez/Jose survived although I don't know why he and that guy did not kill Phillip. Yvette is right that the visions of Lori helped Rick and now that he can do it on his own. Was that a freak on the phone?

Yvette, well it was her time. LOL! There really are too many commercials. Right, I had forgotten that Maggie was not in the original group. I can see Phillip finding more people and attacking the prison again. I think that the comics are too different from the tv series to use them as a guide any more.

Andrea should have listened to Carl and killed Phillip, then she would have saved almost everyone. Maggie is still alive in the comic too.

You mean that Norman is not a Carol/Daryl fan? I did not pick that up. I have no problem with Beth. This show only has so much time. They need a background character to eventually kill off who is related to the main characters.

It is cool that Chad was the only choice for Tyreese. Kirkman has good taste. It is the perfect casting.

Andy! Yep, Rick is trying to bring humanity back to Carl and the group. Yep, all those old people dying will not be pretty.

I think that they went to the prison because it was more secure than Woodbury. It could be defended better with fewer people. Was the dark hair woman, Jody's mother? Jody is the kid that Carl killed.
