  1. HBS tended to get on my nerves as Margo, so I can't recall ever reading any interview of hers. If that's the case, I wouldn't call casting her forte.
  2. I didn't particularly like Michelle's stories when Bethany Lenz played her either, but at least Bethany had some inner fire in her. *sigh* the challenge in watching episodes in German is you can't always discern the subtext. I'm in early '82, and can't decide if Josh is trying to tank Trish and Vanessa's friendship, just out to irritate Vanessa, or trying to undermine Tony. I think it's mostly undermining Tony (who's asking questions about Josh managing Floyd...rme) but there are moments when Vanessa seems to be poking into what Josh is up to at Spaulding and he doesn't like it.
  3. I just can't believe that from all the East Coast, that's the best Betty Rea could find. I really didn't feel he had romantic chemistry with anyone. Neither of Tom's parents were that boring either.
  4. I will never understand casting Scott Holmes as Tom. Never.
  5. I'm sure she's a nice person, but she ruined Michelle for me.
  6. That certainly sounds like Lisa.
  7. Lucinda may have had some kind of feud with Whit McColl. Anyway, it was Whit's death that set the Lucinda/Lisa feud in motion. Lisa actually discovered that Martin Guest had illegally adopted Lily, and I think threatened to go public with it.
  8. That's a lot of satin bridesmaids' dresses. And I don't like those colors.
  9. i never would have guessed that was Millette Alexander on the floor. It's a little weird thinking of Sarah having a sex life. I was shocked when I read she and Justin had a thing back in college. I just remember her as the sympathetic (if seemingly ineffective) psychiatrist listening to everyone's problems.
  10. To be fair, he did try and get them to discuss some of their disagreements with the suits, some of which they briefly and vaguely skimmed over. Sometimes he would come off a lot better if he would just ask a question and then let then just shut up.
  11. Watched Alan Locher's interview with Stephen and Nancy Demorest last night---and sweet Jesus, he really hasn't learned to interview any in the last three years. And of course, the one question I really needed him to ask when they got around to Roger/Holly --how/why could they not acknowledge Roger's rape of Rita, which in the recaps seems as brutal as Holly's---isn't asked. Or even hinted at.
  12. She reminds me of Sandra Smith (she played Dr. Janice Lester on Star Trek: TOS, and apparently was also Julie Conrad Bauer on GL), but I don't think that's her either.
  13. LOL...not by much. I remember Lucille scaring the bejeebers out of me as a kid. Her and Vanessa Prentiss on Y&R.
  14. The movie advertised, "A Perfect Match" with Colleen Dewhurst premiered 10/5/1980. So this has to be sometime the preceeding week.
  15. I agree there was plenty of story for Justin, but part of the reason why I didn't miss Justin is that GA kept leaving. It would've been very interesting though to see Bev McKinsey and Tom O'Rourke kind of fighting for Phillip's soul, so to speak.
  16. Does anyone know who what singers/groups appeared on GL in '82? I've caught the B-52's, Judy Collins, Jennifer Holliday, Ashford and Simpson and Bertie Higgins. (The cast seems to enjoy Jennifer Holliday the most, imo) I read somewhere that Huey Lewis and the News also appeared. Does anyone remember if they did? I love them.
  17. I can see that. I'd kind of expect Joan to have rolled up, expecting/suggesting that she needed a love interest, and "hey, my pal Michael's already done a NY soap."
  18. No...but given that it's Joan Collins, maybe Michael Nader? I can't really see her thinking fans would be excited unless it was someone previously connected to her.
  19. I'm sure RR would've been a decent new character. Recasts are so tricky and depend on so much. And with Ross stepping into the role of Phillip's father so early, I never really felt the need for Justin's return. Even though I would've always welcomed Tom O'Rourke back.
  20. I'll concede that the writing did RR no favors, but i don't think he had enough oomph to be a good recast anyone. As harsh as that sounds.
  21. OMG..,I'm blissfully immersed in 1982.
  22. Bill was born in November 1984. Michelle is born November 1985. Ben is born in 1986. The oddest thing about Alan-Michael and Sam they were virtually born at the same time in 81, and yet, Samantha was younger than him when she returned. Coop was born off screen in the mid 90's, and then dates a younger Lizzie in the '00's. Oh, and Marina, who was born on screen in '93, is somehow ends up older than Susan/Daisy, who was born on screen in '87.
  23. Good Lord, bite your tongue.
  24. Thank you! And I've got to ask, do you have the Nov 1983 episode where we find out Billy's alive? 1163 and 1164 are the same episode. In 1167, Vanessa and Billy show up at his apartment to tell Mindy, Trish and Josh he's alive. But we never see Billy reveal himself to Vanessa before that.
  25. See, it wasn't that hard. Of course, the obvious 1st choice would be Rita. FYI, I just saw Springfield Story has uploaded German episodes from August 1981. Holy schnikes---the thought of seeing the end of the Andy Norris saga again...*faints* I have been so jealous that Jim Muneco hasn't posted more GL episodes lately...and this falls in my lap!
