  1. Tanner Novlan is serving full Liberty Biberty with presenter delivery.
  2. Is the entire “audience” seat fillers with extra canned applause? They may as well have kept the ceremony remote…
  3. Happy for Marla. This is a very weird ceremony. No audience shots.
  4. This show needs to stop telling stories it can’t properly dramatize (Amanda’s father’s murder). There are a gazillion different ways they could have introduced her family. Seems like the Newman connection was a red herring.
  5. Oh they’d not likely ever do it: it just would be fantasy casting for people who are still nostalgic for a more Bell version of Y&R. CBS/Sony have no interest in writing Victoria in a way that would have made sense 20 years ago (as the true heiress to Victor). That ship has long sailed. But, in addition to the writing, I do think Heinle often falls flat in scenes where she’s asked to banter and stand her ground with Mark Grossman’s Adam or EB. (She’s much better in scenes with women.) HT, at her fiercest, can slice a man’s balls off. AH is better at tortured heroine.
  6. Just saw it was on TPIR and they were promoting tonight’s Daytime Emmys on CBS as the incumbent Best Actor and Actress winners. Still it is funny. As others have said over the years, I wouldn’t be against an actual swap (Katie feels more in AH’s wheelhouse anyway, even though B&B barely plays her), but they’d have to start writing Victoria a lot differently for it to matter. Then again, maybe HT’s presence would inspire them? (It’s all rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic—who are we kidding? 😂)
  7. Yeah, they bet on the wrong horse with Leah alone. Just shows how little they understand what makes NY work. And, yes, NY is absolutely a character on this show, but it’s only really started to recover in the past couple of months here. I went out a few times back in March on beautiful days, and it still felt eerily dead, even in Hell’s Kitchen. I wanted Dorinda gone at the end of last season, but I’ve really missed her this year. Still I think it’s probably in her best interests to rest a season. Carole would have been a good addition alongside Heather. And beyond the sweet scenes with Sonja, I feel like Eboni has been a miss so far. She’s also hitched her wagon to Leah, but she likely didn’t have a lot of options with this tiny cast with three older women. I have no doubt she’ll get a second season, as they’ll make damn sure the first black NY cast member isn’t deemed a failure (even if Bershan pops more, moving forward). I thought the small cast might have been a boon for Eboni, but with all the exposure, they’ve made her come across as incredibly one-dimensional. In a normal season, we might have had a better sense of her family, romantic, and work lives, beyond phone calls and glimpses of her recording her podcast. She’s clearly smart and funny, but I just don’t think this is the cast for her. Again, I could be wrong, but this is what happens when you have seven episodes go by with so little movement.

  9. I was over Leah halfway through last season, but I guess Bravo thought, wow, we have a young vibrant woman who’s connecting with the audience. Let’s make her the face of the show! And for me, that’s unappealing and not why I watch NY. Leah is so transparently thirsty in a way that has no finesse. (At least Bethenny was there from the beginning, with real and interesting relationships with the women, and has legit star quality, even if she eventually became too much as well.) And Ramona, Sonja, and Luann all feel like supporting characters to Leah and Eboni now. The Golden Girls have been sidelined for the young up-and-comers. But that goes back to the point of too much Hamptons. That was one moment in time, yet they stretched it out, so there’s a feeling like, this dynamic is the new RHONY. When you’re 7-8 episodes into a season, audiences should have a feel for where the show is going, and if this is it, God help them. We just needed different types of episodes by now, and perhaps the pandemic didn’t help, since daily life was on hold when they were filming.
  10. Halep out of Wimbledon too.
  11. From Indonesia 🇮🇩
  12. They were together years ago, right? She has definitely gotten some quality peen over the years but she’s also the mother of Sonny spawn, so it balances out.
  13. They just don’t have great adversarial chemistry anyway. I can see Sally resenting Summer for seemingly having everything handed to her, but their rivalry felt like playground stuff. Especially considering she has no interest in Kyle, and Y&R ditched her partner-in-crime Theo. Now Sally and Phyllis have a sizzle, but they’ve seemingly dropped that. I thought initially she’d vie for Chance against Abby, which I’m glad didn’t happen (because Boaz), but would have made more sense.
  14. So is Shawn gonna give Alexis the bang-down?
  15. I agree. The feud is dumb, especially now that Summer’s real enemy is Tara. And Sally seems to hate Tara as well, even though they’re scheming together.
  16. I’m cringing in advance. If they avoid the oversexed, predatory black woman stereotype, I’ll be very impressed.
  17. Summer also needs a friend or confidant who isn’t her mom. I saw they tried with Abby and Nina.
  18. It’s also funny that they’ve written this story expecting us to be Team $Bill.
  19. I might have missed it, but has Zoe left town without learning about Quinn and Carter? Aaron Spears has been utterly wasted by this show. Dude has easy charisma. Not to filter everything through the lens of race, but it’s funny, given what we’ve gone through in the country this past year, that Justin is the bad guy who holds the cards for two white men’s freedom and could be incriminated by the release of a cell phone video.
  20. This girl’s a Newman who has studied at the feet of one of the most demented master manipulators in Genoa City. Like grow a pair, girl. Or make her helplessness part of her character. Don’t try to sell her as this great strategic young executive who curls up into a ball.
  21. Hunter King is a strong, emotionally transparent actress, but Summer is just a mushy mess of a character who reads so much younger than late 20s (even considering our infantilized Millennial generation).
  22. Yes, the NY women deliver, but personally I feel like they spent too many episodes in the Hamptons. It got repetitive after a while, with Leah’s “grief-stricken” antics and the incessant dialogue about microaggressions.
  23. Has pulled out of Wimbledon, Hamburg, and Gstaad.
  24. From the Philippines 🇵🇭
  25. RC is pretty much writing a sitcom, which every now and then works due to some game actors (like PT and SSH) but often leads to some headscratchers. I suppose he got Jackée and said, let me lean into the wackiness.
