Also, I feel like performers of color have been last hired and first fired, especially when there’s a regime change. Did Ji-Min get canned after Latham’s departure? New regimes also often love to clean house of any floating newbies associated with the previous one, and it’s a vicious cycle with many non-white characters who never get an opportunity (or the investment in their development) to build seniority that *might* protect them from the ax (like the Abe Carvers and Devon Hamiltons). Certainly didn’t protect Lillian Hayman and many others like her.

Just announced: she’s leaving. Lame that it was announced on a Friday night like a political scandal, but CAI probably just wants to put this show behind her. JMHO a co-ed panel is a smart move when there are so many View clones on daytime TV (and Kelly and Ryan is a great example of a female-male duo being successful—I think people like having the interplay of both genders represented and there are so many conversations on these shows where the absence of a male perspective is strongly felt). I just don’t have much faith in this particular show and these particular people.

I know people wanted LeVar, but I just don’t think he was good. But who was good was Bill Whitaker. He would be a great choice if he were open to it.

Indeed! And they don’t even have to be so explicit in their racist feelings. Watching the show is enough to show how they really feel. I remember Abhi Sinha flagging Mal Young for abuse. Just seems like a very toxic set. I know Y&R has a rep. I agree Steve Kent needs to go too. Speaking of Sony, Mike Richards is stepping down from Jeopardy (as new host but keeping his EP job).

I was just thinking JFP or JG double-fisting. Either would be no bueno. JFP would at least give it direction. A sh!tty direction, but a direction nonetheless. That Chia pet line is not surprising but still sickening. Alongside the potential sexual harassment and retribution. My god.

Yeah. They had to sentimentalize this story when it should have been more of a strategic alliance/cat-and-mouse game. But they just can’t let go of this characterization of Victoria as this tightly wound daddy’s girl heroine desperate for love and overwhelmed by the demands placed on her. With Ashley off canvas, Phyllis is the only female character they let really go toe to toe with dudes.

B&B is often a plot-driven show, but it’s felt veeeeeery plotty lately. I guess it’s paying off in the ratings according to Errol’s reports, but I find it very unsatisfying. And every character is an idiot.

At this point, I’m like sh!t or get off the pot. I’m tired of them talking about it. I guess finally they set a date.

It’s sad because Maura can play a bitch-on-wheels like nobody’s business. I can’t stomach the sniveling frightened little mouse. At least show her with *some* fight. The balance is way off with the character, and it has been for a while, but it’s worse than ever. Maybe because they’re focusing more on Nik’s dark Cassadine side.

Ava acting like a passive, fearful damsel in distress and not a freakin’ Jerome is so off-putting. I barely noticed Jason and Carly were on today.

I’m glad this Esme loon is the ostensible obstacle for Sprina and not Joss. And Trina can have an unhinged psycho to fight like a classic soap heroine.

Insulting on so many different levels. Ben responded by admitting to kissing Claire, and Ciara immediately forgave him. So it was totally unnecessary, other than making Ciara seem virginal and unspoiled for her serial killer-in-shining-armor. Meanwhile, Theo is a dumb eunuch who gets Claire as a consolation prize.
