  1. Except Kimberlin Brown. But I'm death these days on Republicans, so don't mind me.
  2. Oh, c'mon. Everyone ends up at B&B eventually, lol.
  3. Words cannot express how thrilled I am for Cady McClain. She has more than earned the right to originate a character on daytime rather than be a recast, and I am so, so glad MVJ and the rest of the BTG team have handed her this opportunity.
  4. If I were writing this show, I'd go along with the idea of Johnny and Chanel getting a baby, but I'd show fairly quickly how ill-prepared and overwhelmed Johnny is by fatherhood - like, he'd want to go out and have fun, Chanel says they can't because the baby's sick or something, and Johnny doesn't understand why they can't just leave the baby with a nanny - with Chanel realizing she basically married a manchild who was never prepared to live in the real world.
  5. I am not here for Salem's answer to Scott Disick thinking he's mature enough to be a father.
  6. Obviously, I can speak only for myself, but a daytime soap just isn't a daytime soap to me if it doesn't runs five days a week, 50-52 weeks per year. I mean, I could go along with taping two episodes per day, so that the team has a six-month hiatus to rest and recharge, but I still would need to know it'll be there, every Monday through Friday, uninterrupted, with no hiatuses or breaks. Of course, YMMV.
  7. How are Johnny and Chanel ready to be parents? Johnny doesn't even have a job!
  8. I think John Loprieno had a point: there was only so many times you could watch Cord forgive Tina for her latest round of mistakes and lies before you started to wonder if Cord was a total moron.
  9. I wonder if that was the same Peter Andrews who had worked for years as a producer and director on GL.
  10. If KL had been about four young/newlywed couples living in the same cul-de-sac, Kenny and Ginger might've had more story. Unfortunately, as I've said in the past, the inclusion of Gary and Val made the Wards redundant.
  11. If nothing else, @Melroser's hypothetical production model would present the entire team - cast, crew and staff - the opportunity to recharge physically and mentally, and avoid the burnout that tends to happen when soaps are taped year-round. That, in turn, might lead to less cast/writer turnover. I think I've said this before, but bringing back the 15-minute soap would be a real "full circle" moment for the genre, allowing viewers once again to enjoy their stories in the time it takes them to eat lunch or have a "coffee break" from their jobs.
  12. Although I think a 15-minute show would be much more desirable for streaming purposes, I definitely think your production model is doable, @Melroser.
  13. Conversations you'd never, ever hear on any other soap!
  14. Honestly, I fear now, not just for Ukraine, but for Zelenskyy's own safety as well. The man could very well become a martyr for his people at the hands of Putin.
  15. I said the same thing when Ron Carlivati wrote that now-infamous scene with Monica and "Lester" sparring at the nurses' station. Granted, Lesley and Monica never were the best of friends, but I thought a lot of the animosity between them had dissipated by the time Denise Alexander left in '84. Plus, since when did people call Lesley "Lester"?
  16. God knows it ain't because of the writing (sorry, "Yellowstone" fans), lol. I, myself, have long advocated for a soap set in the Great Plains region: Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, etc. Frankly, I've seen enough soaps supposedly set in the Midwest to last me the rest of my days.
  17. I think @All My Shadows's idea for a rural-based soap has merit and potential as well. Such a show would offer viewers glimpses of a way of life that isn't often depicted on television, and certainly not on soaps.
  18. On the one hand, @All My Shadows, I agree with you. The genre needs fresh characters and storylines - and ones that are rooted in reality - if it wants to reclaim its' relevance. But, on the other hand, I think those who have argued that an EON reboot in particular could be successful today make a very good point. (As a matter of fact, I'd even go along with an EON reboot that starred an African-American male as Mike Karr!)
  19. Nah, for me, it's gotta end with Drew's lifeless body turning up at the grand opening of that esplanade, lol.
  20. And the world breathed a collective sigh of relief.
  21. I agree with Lauryn Hill and her assessment of Roberta Flack's rendition of "Ballad of the Sad Young Men." It has that end-of-movie quality that can really stir your soul.
  22. Needless to say, Josh Schriver's boyfriend is not thrilled about this news.
