  1. So, someone has finally put a bullet in Drew Cain's smarmy game show host ass. 'Bout damn time.
  2. I've always suspected those (C-P's resistance and the lack of bigger studio space) were the reasons why TD never expanded as well.
  3. I can't speak for all fans, but I know I hated it, especially because it didn't make sense for Nola to become so obsessed over someone like Buzz. He wasn't her type. And even in her darkest moments, when she was messing with Morgan's head and letting Kelly and everyone else believe he was her baby daddy, she never crossed the line into outright stalking him.
  4. But I thought someone here had confirmed it years ago? Oh, well.
  5. Given his (alleged) adult film star past, I'd say "MEATY storyline" is an interesting choice of words, lol.
  6. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, sure, anything to replace GMA3; but, OTOH, I'm not a Marc Cherry fan, so I don't know whether I'd want to watch.
  7. Another daytime icon, gone forever. Oh God. This is all too much for this lifelong soap fan to bear. RIP.
  8. Did Gloria Monty destroy daytime? Frankly, I don't think so. All she was trying to do was save a dying show (GH). It's not her fault that TPTB at other shows decided to replicate her formula. In fact, I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read somewhere years ago a quote from Gloria Monty where she said it was never her intention for the rest of daytime to follow her lead, only to think outside the proverbial box, because audiences were savvier than in years past and didn't want to watch the same-old boring stuff.
  9. If only Susan Sullivan had had material that good on FALCON CREST.
  10. You kinda wish there had been a storyline between Kelly (and said speedos) and Lucille Wexler, lol.
  11. You know what I'll always remember about Loni (aside from her fantastic turn on "WKRP")? Many years ago, when "Live with Kelly & Mark" was still "Live with Regis & Kathie Lee," Loni, who was a guest host one day, talked enthusiastically about her grandchild, proudly referring to herself as "Grandma Loni." You don't see too many actresses on TV who are willing to admit they are grandmothers IRL, lol.
  12. Oh, look! It's the internet's favorite punching bag, Meghan Markle!
  13. It's still weird that AE is no longer with us. I agree.
  14. That IS sad news. Danielle Spencer, Mabel King and Shirley Hemphill were such integral parts to "What's Happening!!"'s success. Spencer, in particular, had extraordinary comedic timing for an actor of her age. Nobody, but nobody, could deliver a sarcastic retort better than she could. She will be missed.
  15. For some reason, I can picture PFS pulling an Abby Ewing on Bill Bell: "Oh, and one more thing: don't call me 'honey'."
  16. That makes perfect sense! In that case, I'd have to say it's a tie between "What You Don't Know Can Kill You" (s12, ep22) and "Mrs. Parker's Revenge" (s12, e23) for worst, non-bookend MSW episode, with "Parker" having the slight edge on account of the episode feeling like a recycled "Wonder Woman" or "Matlock," penned by someone (Anne C. Collins) who wasn't all that familiar with the show or with J.B. Fletcher.
  17. I'm surprised that MSW fans on Reddit would consider "When Thieves Fall Out" to be the series' worst episode. It's not a GREAT episode, but I label it as the worst. For me, that dishonor goes to "Goodbye Charlie," lol.
  18. Oh, Lord. What's happening now?
  19. This must be one of those "the cat is on the roof" situations. Disney doesn't want Hulu subscribers to freak out over Hulu going bye-bye forever all at once, so they're easing them into the transition instead.
  20. So, they're phasing out Hulu, but you'll still be able to purchase a stand-alone Hulu subscription? Please make that make sense for me, lol.
  21. I'll give you three guesses. Add me to the list of SON posters who appreciate @mikelyons's posts and consider his insider info to be bang-on.
  22. That's the grand irony in this situation, isn't it? For all their talk of rising food and gas prices and rounding up "illegals" and shipping them back where they (don't) belong, it never occurred to any of those morons who voted for Trump that all these ICE raids cost money.
  23. Well, I know of one soap opera/BDW fan who'd be thrilled about that...
  24. IA with both of you. To make matters worse, the media also raked her over the proverbial coals for joining the cast of "Nurses" around that time as well. Did Loni take the job just for the money (as well as to salvage what was left of her reputation)? Probably. Were Witt/Thomas/Harris attempting to cash in on Loni's notoriety and save their dying show? Probably. But, my God, a paycheck is still a paycheck; and even if "Nurses" was a crap show, I think Loni still gave the show all she had to give it. God knows she'd been in some real turkeys throughout her career, but I never, ever saw her phone in any performance.
