  1. This is what happens when you either ignore burgeoning talent or fail to cultivate them. You end up giving hack producers yet another crack at destroying your favorite shows.
  2. In the beginning, SATC was about four professional women asserting their (sexual) independence and taking advantage of all the sexual opportunities available to them in one of the biggest cities in the world. It might not have been my cup of tea, but I thought the premise was fresh nonetheless. Then, MPK (and SJP) come in; and suddenly, it's a horrid soap opera about a narcissistic shoe freak and the big swinging d*ck she keeps going back to no matter how many times he treats like her s**t. So, AFAIC, I'm glad to see the whole thing die and die miserably, too, lol.
  3. I think it was @saynotoursoap who said, in so many words, not to believe the standard line that all the old soaps are gone forever and that it was very possible for other countries to have old episodes in their archives.
  4. IA. I applaud Loni for refusing to play Jennifer as a "dumb blonde." That [!@#$%^&*] would've gotten old fast (see Suzanne Somers).
  5. Oh, poor Loni. I still remember when the media tried to embarrass her during her nasty divorce battle with Burt, when Burt was clearly the "villain" in that situation. I'm just glad she was able to find lasting happiness in the end with Bob Flick, because she deserved that. May she RIP.
  6. IA. I mean, I liked a lot of Margaret DePriest's tenure, too, but I think it helped to have many longtime AMC writers, including Lorraine Broderick and Victor Miller, on staff.
  7. In Barbara Carrera's case, she's literally reprising her role as Fatima Blush in "Never Say Never Again," lol.
  8. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear Angelica Nero was supposed to be on FC, but either FC had already blown their budget for the season, or Denise in staff services accidentally mixed up some DALLAS script pages with some FC script pages and the producers just decided to go with it.
  9. Oh, Lord. Should I even ask, lol? (Seriously, it's been eons since I've kept up with all things Hulk.)
  10. In a way, they're like a lot of African-American men who also voted for Trump: they're attracted to his swagger and give-no-f**ks approach. They think that's the kind of approach that puts haters in their places and gets the job done. IOW, they think with their d*cks.
  11. Yep. That's why I'm warning folks - and have been warning them since the Inauguration - to be prepared for another pandemic. Because, between Trump and RFK Jr., I think it's a safe bet.
  12. This is where I'm at as well. I'm sorry that so many have had to suffer (and will continue to suffer) because they voted from a place of ignorance, but...shrug...y'all were warned!
  13. Translation: "Fasten your seat belts, Y&R fans, it's going to be a bumpy ride!"
  14. Oh my God!! This news is just too shocking to be believed. TCS played such an integral part in my childhood. Not a Thursday evening went by without me and my family tuning in to see the entire family. Jesus Christ, it's 2016 all over again. RIP MJW, you will be SORELY missed.
  15. It would serve CBS and Paramount right to do all this just to have the Trump administration nix the proposed merger with Skydance anyway.
  16. ICAM with you both. Frankly, I'm more upset about the news that CBS has cancelled "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" due to what they're calling "financial reasons." (Come on, CBS, who do you think you're fooling, lol?)
  17. And yet, more engaging and more informative than every episode of "Soap Talk."
  18. And then they mentioned Gary and the twins, lol.
  19. In a way, I miss that era of television. TV shows today don't tackle any issues, take any stands or challenge anyone's beliefs. They're just...there, lol. IA. The Shapiros had built DYNASTY on a solid foundation with the wealthy Carringtons vs. the blue-collar Blaisdels, and Krystle caught in the middle. ABC and Aaron Spelling just needed to exercise more patience and allow them to tweak the show a little bit (maybe recast Lindsay with Heather Locklear?). Oh, it definitely veered into camp, lol! To KL's credit, however, their camp wasn't as embarrassing, because they still included "everyday scenes" involving the residents of Seaview Circle.
  20. I don't think so either. At best, I see it as a companion of sorts to "Touched by an Angel" or "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." Something that might've worked best on Saturday nights, where expectations are low. I also agree that FC as it came to be was not what Hamner himself wanted at the start. If you'll notice, too, that although he was EP for several seasons, he wrote only two episodes. To me, that says he wasn't as comfortable with FC as David Jacobs was with KL.
