  1. I couldn't begin to calculate the number of Black men who wish they were as rich and powerful as Victor Newman...or the number of Black women who wish he was their man.
  2. My advice to the undecided voters? Stop playing around and admit you're gonna vote for Trump anyway. Thanks, @Vee, for the recaps. Needless to say, I agree that Biden was on fire tonight.
  3. Agree. The GOP's shift to the far-right was, in many ways, inevitable. Just as this nation's overall demographic shift (toward non-Caucasians and POC becoming the majority) is inevitable -- which is why the GOP is working hard to consolidate power. Because, even if they never win another election, they still stand to shape and influence policy for generations to come. Pence could never win an election on his own. He's impossible to read and lacks the ability to do retail politics.
  4. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to learn Trump has put out a hit on Biden. His every word and movement now reeks of desperation. He's been busy appealing his loss in the Norm Peterson lookalike contest.
  5. I feel like the Trump family is trolling Mike Pence here. ;)
  6. Agree. There's a lot of early and absentee voting going on, but does that mean all or most of those votes are going to Biden?
  7. I don't know if this has been posted yet. But it does provide a stark contrast to how Trumpland has handled letting us know about Trump and others within his circle testing positive: https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/15/politics/kamala-harris-campaign-travel-coronavirus/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twCNN&utm_content=2020-10-15T14%3A08%3A03&utm_term=link

  9. I refuse to believe that Trump is no longer a "transmission risk," or that he has experienced only mild symptoms. That s.o.b. was on a respirator.

  11. An early example, I think, of DAYS bringing back actors in new and different roles.
  12. The thought of Trump passing himself off in any way as Superman rankles the [!@#$%^&*] out of me. And I'm not even a Superman fan.
  13. Thanks, @Vee. Again, I couldn't get excited about anything happening on DAYS (or on AMC) because both shows were so different from the shows I had loved in my childhood.
  14. No, you're not wrong. AMC was under a tremendous amount of pressure to emulate DAYS, due to the latter show (which aired opposite AMC in most major markets, IIRC) taking off in the ratings thanks to JER's outrageous stories. That's what I meant before. It just came out wrong. I thought Noah and Julia's wedding was ridiculous, too. But I chalked up my feelings to being lukewarm in general about those two.
  15. Right. AMC (and then-HW Lorraine Broderick) was accused of copying DAYS, which JER had turned into an utter camp-fest by that point. Agnes Nixon had always flirted with Gothic storylines on the show, but voodoo was just a bridge too far for many (myself included).
  16. That's probably because his lungs gave out. (Bless you, COVID-19.)
  17. Although she does look familiar, I don't think she was on GL -- at least, not in any prominent role. Meanwhile, I'm not sure how I feel about drinking a chocolate-flavored laxative.
  18. Oh, Lady G.'s secret Black boyfriend is gonna give him so much [!@#$%^&*] for that remark.
  19. Has anyone else heard about Mike Pompeo's vow to track down and release Hillary Clinton's emails from her private server? Man, those Republicans sure do love wasting our tax dollars.
  20. Again:
  21. Has Ellen Parker (ex-Maureen, GL) appeared on more than one soap?
  22. Jane Elliot, too -- and her role there (as Cynthia Preston Cortlandt) was nothing next to Tracy Quartermaine, Carrie Todd or even Anjelica Deveraux.
  23. I doubt Mitch McConnell believes pandemics are real things, even with his personal history. I just think he's distancing himself from Trump in order to save his Senate seat. Couldn't it be both? Bern Bennett: "Please join us again, for 'The COVID...and the Restless'." Macdonald Carey: "Like politicians with positive test results, so are the COVIDs of Our Lives."
  24. He's just afraid the fly will return to upstage him.
