  1. I'm more inclined to think CC had the "issue," or at least there was mutual resentment, especially after seeing how Chappell behaved on her way out the second time in 2011. In 1991, she was the hot thing, a newbie getting tons of airtime, and then the show brings back its tried and true diva with Deidre. Yes, CC and DH worked on the show at the same time for the next two years, but I'm guessing there were egos on both sides. Side note: I, too, have Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story somewhere in a box full of old VHS tapes, lol. @Franko who is Connie Ray supposed to be...?
  2. Yeah, I wonder how a new soap opera would've done, premiering in 1993-1994 (pre-OJ drama). That was the last era of ratings growth for the majority of soaps on the air.
  3. That was pretty much the highlight. Everything old is new again with 90's cues. Wish DAYS would revisit their old scores. How was Sheila written off last time? Did she literally just fade away as an eavesdropping waitress? The fact that she left with such a whimper shows that the Forresters, etc. should see her with a "meh" rather than horror. OooOOooohh she's got another mystery kid. Is she the female Stefano DiMera of breeding?
  4. I think La Dame would *love* for Gizelle to admit to the truths that Monique spilled and La Dame co-signed but without mentioning Monique's name since she's no longer on the show. So yeah, the "wishing death on Ray" spin is reminiscent of NYC's Kelly suddenly having an issue with Ramona during season 4 because of the Scary Island trip from Season 3, which also felt random AF. But love 'em or hate 'em, the core four - The Grande Dame/Gizelle/Robyn/Ashley - are still the main draw of this series which I love. After 6 seasons, they don't feel stale. I will FOREVER side-eye ANYTHING Candiace says or does, Dr. Wendy is a wannabe oaf, and Mia is okay but too plastic for me (not to mention the voice sounds like a Kardashian clone).
  5. Dr. Wendy is trying to play a new character and it is NOT working. Somewhere between a NeNe Leakes and a Jen Shah, she's putting on this persona that falls flat. Nah girl, I got @DaytimeFan in my corner, lol
  6. LOL! Love Garcelle and Sutton questioning that. Even as I watched and did the math... okay, 22 years ago it was 1999, and you were already in your late 20's. Gurl, come on... No ATM card? Never been inside a bank? NJ: I must be the only person who's still Team Marge. I appreciated Melissa's reunion comment about Jennifuh trying to get on RHONJ for the last 9 years. No surprise there. Wasn't she on another short-lived reality show where she claimed her money came from her own family's jewelry business or something, and not from hubby being a surgeon? Not that I don't like Jennifer, she just isn't the bee's knees in my eyes.
  7. Well damn! That article just kept going and going... I didn't realize just how bad it's gotten behind the scenes between the OG vets vs. Eboni. I'm glad to hear Bravo sees what an epic failure she's been and what a terrible season this has been. Add to that seeing the speedy downfall of Leah's "fame." If they're looking to save face in regards to race speculation, they can easily ditch Ebony and promote Bershan to full-time wife. We haven't bothered to watch RHONY this week, and quite honestly, my hubby kind of dreads it. He said, "as someone who is black, this constant schooling [!@#$%^&*] is too much for me." We'll get around to watching it, but we (he) has to be in the right mindset.
  8. My relatives lived in that area, and I seem to recall one summer when visiting (1996), I saw a commercial on this station for Bold & Beautiful airing at 11:30am. At the time, I didn't know if everything aired one hour earlier (as I wasn't sure it was on Mountain Time Zone or not) or if B&B just aired earlier than usual here.
  9. Boom. Exactly. A few episodes back, she said Tom hasn't reached out even once since she left. As if these women wouldn't compare stories (plus, you know, cameras are rolling sweetie).
  10. RHONY isn't appointment television this season, that's for sure, but like a soap opera slump, I'll stick with my show in hopes of it improving. If not this season, certainly next year. (But yeah, Olympics won last night for me, too)
  11. LOL that's funny. Rinna better be saging her house right about now...
  12. Good for DAYS/NBC/Universal/Corday etc. to bring Lisa Rinna back for the DAYS Peacock spinoff. It's not Depends Adult Diapers money, but she's still a hustler, and she's more recognized for Housewives these days, so it's a wise move for potential eyeballs. (Side note: I just hope she plays Billie Reed, and not Lisa Rinna on camera, ya know? It's been awhile since she's acted on camera... as a different character, that is)
  13. Wow, this is very encouraging to hear. I don't expect too much in terms of the quality (I'm guessing it'll be on par with the Chabby-in-Paris / Last Blast reunion, with more generous usage of sets), but it shows NBC and Corday are thinking long-range for the future of this show and its survival. And a very smart move to bring in Lisa Rinna, who's now better known for Real Housewives than DAYS.
  14. +1. The whole Eric/Ridge to Carter vibe was off-putting. Like a "yes masta, I promise to be good to you." Ick. Extremely tone-deaf.
  15. +1.... and Hence, the reason why RHONY is currently tanking. I mean hell, even Ramona and one-season-wonder Cindy Barshop had a real-life connection before Cindy joined.
  16. What I find funny is that she's spending all this time lying around in bed while a camera crew is there watching her. As tired and unmotivated as I may feel, if there are a bunch of people in my room (or in my house for that matter), that'll automatically snap me awake. But after 6 years I guess she's used to it? Love the mid-season trailer! Yes, Beverly Hills is better than it's been in years. This time, we cannot say the women are ganging up on one person, because Erotika and Tom literally brought this upon themselves. As we've seen in years past on shows like RHONY, Potomac, and New Jersey, the real-life drama is way more compelling than manufactured bickering.
  17. If nothing else, we can appreciate Luann's tone-deafness for inadvertently leading to NBC canning Megyn Kelly.
  18. Damn. This show's in trouble..
  19. Aw, fun! I'll be watching. I didn't even know they were rebooting this.
  20. I think of Potomac's Robyn as ATL's Cynthia. A constant supporting player that's needed to round out the cast. Although she's a gremlin, Gizelle softens in scenes with her bestie Robyn. The big difference, of course, between Cynthia and Robyn is that Cynthia has had her fairytale wedding happy ending (twice, technically!) while Robyn is still stringing hers along. But I'm down for exploring depression, especially for women of color.
  21. @DaytimeFan @Taoboi Oh for sure, I thought the same thing about that non-waterproof mascara. What a perfect picture of a woman down on her luck, utterly devastated by her duplicitous husband as she struggles to stay afloat amidst and messy divorce. Great performance, but: Rinna being her goofy self-deprecating Rinna self, alongside her bumbling hubby Harrry Hamlin, is what is endearing about her. It makes her fun and relatable again. Agreed with you guys and others saying it's Season Five throwback; the reason we fell in love with her in the first place. Keep this version.
  22. Yes to all. Re: Bershan's behavior. It felt very producer-coaxed. "You gotta get in there and mix it up!" Her remarks were getting a little too rude (and coincidentally, the reactions were also over-the-top, i.e. Luann's "then you should just leave."), and it was funny how no one had her back, not even Ramona who felt compelled to stick by her side because she brought her into the group (quote, un quote). Leah turning Eboni's grandmother's death into a moment of whiny crying was cringe. Shoot, I'd welcome Aviva or Crazy Kelly back at this point, too. Even Cindy Barshop and all her teeth would be better. Lordy, how desperate we've become to jolt some life into RHONY. Still holding out for a Jill Zarin full-time return. What sucks about this current cast is that it doesn't feel organic at. all. And that was always NYC's strongest selling point (other than the Season 5 reboot, and the awkward Season 6 that followed). NYC never felt like a bunch of random women cast to be on the same show and forced to hang out with one another. But now? Totally. And it's not gelling. YAY to Potomac's premiere live ratings! Well-deserved.
  23. I particularly enjoyed their strategic camera angles to prevent it from being too obvious that they're in the CBS parking lot. LOL
