  1. That was the big fail in the episode. Izaiah wore sneakers? Are you kidding me with this? He didn't fit in? We needed something much more dramatic and big to make this father-son rift believable. It's not.
  2. Good to see you guys copying me! I'm flattered!
  3. Glad to know I'm having an impact around here! It's good to be seen!
  4. I'll be honest. When I watched the last 25 minutes of the network broadcast, I was ok with it. When I watched the first 35 minutes online, I thought it was way too much Naomi and Jacob and tried way too hard. It's really ok to skip the entire episode.
  5. Boy, you nailed it with this post. I mean, that was not worth heading to the ABC website for. This Danny turn is a mess. That kid is not ready for that kind of story. Aunt Stella is the character writers continually throw in so we have someone to be annoyed with. DA lady and Jordan are blah, so why not put both of them in a scene together? And Carlos Rota is overacting SO much and chewing scenery in ALL the wrong ways. Get him off my screen.
  6. -- This entire episode was such a heavy anvil to tell us Jacob would be hurt or even killed. I hope they don't go for something so obvious and are really subverting expectations. -- The hair department worked overtime for Naomi's wigs alone. -- I'm glad the show is finally letting us see that Jacob and Naomi love each other. We got months and months where I wasn't really sure, which I think was a mistake. -- The Izaiah backstory was interesting, but I still don't think they've explained the distance between Izaiah and Elon. Not buying it. -- Just watched the first half of the show that was pre-empted. Jesus, they're REALLY laying it on thick about Jacob.
  7. Maurice never misses an opportunity to display that famous ego. I'm sure that made his week.
  8. The best part is that everything you've mentioned can be done at little or even no cost. That's what frustrates me. We get a new set and it's Joey's place. What??? With that ridiculous fireplace -- while looking like ANOTHER set furnished by Wayfair. That casino backroom? Maybe I was seeing things, but I swear one day last week they just dimmed the lighting in there to make the set look better. It's complete 🗑️ 🗑️ 🗑️
  9. I'll never stop complaining about the Joey role on this show. I hate it so much. TEMU Tony Soprano controls everyone and everything. Everyone goes to him for help and everyone is afraid of him. And have I mentioned that he's white? Meanwhile, listen to his dialogue -- it's every bad cliche we've ever heard from a mobster. I gave them a pass on this for awhile, thinking that pre-emptions wrecked the Friday cliffhanger. Can't do that any longer. I don't need a Friday cliffhanger to tune in on Monday, but I do enjoy them. I think a bigger problem is that daily episodes end on a scene that are just meh. Can't disagree about the crossover. I don't trust it'll do much. I do know Devon is one of the crossover characters, and if we're just going to get him talking to Anita about an Articulettes recording session....again, meh. Big agreement here. Y&R is an unmitigated disaster, to the point where it's impossible to get a discussion going on that thread. There's tons of talk here about BTG (and GH) because those are the soaps we care about most right now. B&B has picked up steam, but I don't trust Brad Bell to keep it up. I have NO faith -- none -- in a Y&RR led by Josh Griffith. Yep. Try to look at our posts differently. If we didn't care about this show, there wouldn't be dozens of pages with comments every month. Everything I and others offer as criticism is open for discussion, so if you disagree, go for it. And sorry, but as others have pointed out, sets are a problem -- one that I think has grown bigger. I think that's why so many here are saying Bill Bell didn't care about sweeps. It's because he was ALWAYS building story while something was supercharged. We didn't get weeks and months of lulls masquerading as "This is going to be something good when they get to it." And I'm just not a fan of story and characters that build and then disappear -- not for days, but for those weeks and months. BTG relies on this pacing far too often. Chelsea and Madison? Who are they? (I could do this for a half dozen stories). They need to give us something substantial with the Hayley/Bill/Lynette story. I don't want it to disappear again. Get somewhere with this plasma storyline. The cotillion? I'm worried about that one. We've had this buildup for MONTHS, and I think it's created this feeling that we're going to get a spectacular event. I think it's a mistake to feed the audience those expectations, and I blame the show for that. What's crazy is that they've built this expectation while giving us very few real details about the cotillion or scenes that cover it.
  10. Yep. Some people are happy only if you describe every element of the show as if it's rainbows shooting out of a unicorn's ass.
  11. I think it would be fun to post the ways we get DAYS ON A DIME 😁 I mentioned the diagonal hospital beds. Can we add the 6'x8' living room at Alex and Stephanie's?
  12. Not a bad week. For me, Leo ruined the Friday episode. I'm also sick of all these characters who get to meet with Owen alone. And Stephanie closes the blinds? Only on a soap. In a soap world with terrible police departments on every soap, the Salem Police Dept. is the worst. Jada and Rafe are awful.
  13. Agree with all that. I hope they're not doing any writing that awaits a renewal. That's a fail in my eyes. And Emmys are nice, but they don't mean much at all when it comes to ratings or jumps in viewership. GH has been running away with Best Drama Emmys for a decade, and it's never meant a thing.
  14. I want movement, too. My point is that it's a mistake to drag so many stories until this antiquated sweeps thing. My concern is that BTG is playing by those old sweeps rules. If they are, they need to stop. Maybe other boards and pages aren't mentioning this as a problem, but that doesn't mean it isn't one or that we're wrong.
  15. Yeah, I agree. Because these other characters do awful, offensive, and even immoral things doesn't mean a complete nutjob like Sheila should be defended. Sheila has rebuilt her life? Uh....ok. 😂
  16. 😂 They're doing a fine job on that front!
  17. I'm glad he's still there, too. "Set design" a la DAYS: "We have no money for sets, so in hospital rooms, we'll turn the beds diagonally to elevate the ambiance."
  18. I'm no Varni fan, but this is exactly what I meant when I said sweeps no longer matter. If they did, Josh Griffith would wait until May to being Malcolm back on Y&R. He didn't. The Marco murder on GH would have been held until May. On B&B, Sheila losing it would be stalled. We keep talking about this damn cotillion as if that's some grand sweeps moment, and it is not. I have no idea what we're going to get, frankly. I'm my mind, the streamers and their 8 and 10 episode series that completely ignore any sign of sweeps helped hasten the demise of the sweeps period we used to know.
  19. Don't know if it's true, but someone in Datalounge reported that new higher-ups at Disney balked at Kristen getting another lengthy time off. If it is true, I don't blame them. They cannot allow actors to call the shots like that. If Frank and Kristen knew from the beginning that her return would be this brief, I fault them for giving the audience false hopes. Most of us were really happy to have KS back and looking healthy -- and ready for a good story with her. Instead, we got a quick in-and-out that was really disappointing. The audience was really cheated.
  20. So if Hayley and Lynette plot and kill Tomas, what are the actual stakes? How does that put them on even ground? All that does is make both characters murderers written into a corner. They're already on even ground now -- they each have a lot of dirt on the other. Look, I'm hardly a Tomas fan, and I've been complaining about Alex Alegria from week one, but I don't see how offing him creates any decent story. We'll just end up with Hayley and Lynette arguing over drinks at Uptown. We already have that.
  21. That's exactly it. I have no problem with Nicole having sex all over the place. No sex shaming here at all. It's the way she's treating these guys that's a huge problem, and I wish both of them would tell her to eff off. I don't even like Carlton, but Nicole has made me sympathize with him, and I will never understand Kial giving Nicole a key to his place. That's just nuts when she's not exclusive.
  22. I'd rather recast and keep the Tomas character around. I think there's a lot he can do and interfere with. Killing him off? Aside from Kat, who would care? How would that impact story?
  23. I thought today's show was boring, too. WTF.
  24. -- The Best part of today's show was the production design in the country club and the wardrobe. Both were excellent. -- The Jennifer Holliday lip sync was a disaster. That does not work in an intimate setting, especially with that kind of singer. -- Is Lia supposed to be Cruella de Vil? -- Jacob is a terrible criminal/ undercover cop. My God, none of it is believable. -- And meeting up with Naomi AGAIN? They didn't have sex that much before the undercover started. -- Please spare me with the notion that the Naomi/Jacob sex scene was anything special. It was not. -- I agree with others that the writing for Nicole is bad. If a guy played two women like that, we'd be screaming. -- I think it's a big problem that Nicole thinks she needs to change and be different. What happened in her life was because of what TED did, not mistakes she made or could have avoided. She was perfectly fine being the Nicole she was. -- The Carlton and Ted scenes are pathetic. It is INSANE to me that these two can have bro discussions about dating Nicole. I don't buy any of it.
