  1. Speaking of couples, I don't think GH remembers that Danny and Charlotte are cousins. They're totally going there. 😂 I don't want to pick on kids but neither really impresses me in the role, especially the actor who plays Danny. I can tell he's trying but he's no NAC who pulled you in right away despite his age. And the chemistry just isn't there to get over them being family. I have a tepid interest in Lulu and Nathan. But I must say that I expected more out of AH joining GH. I'm glad GH course corrected and tamed her shrill chest pumping but something about the character feels off. I want to take these Britt scenes seriously but she'll go back to yelling at Jason by tomorrow. And yeah, GH has shown Martin to be a complete jerk to Tracy but I love their chemistry and banter.
  2. I really hope Willow and Drew are on today. I need a fix of their toxic drama. I wouldn't mind if Drew is kept as a permanent villain, but the show needs to give him at least one Achilles heel. He's so one note. Entertaining in a paranoid way but that will reach its limit.
  3. I picked the right time to binge on Guiding Light. I'm looking forward to this, especially hearing their thoughts on how the San Cristobel story evolved and sputtered. It's never wise to split the show's central location. I never understood Cole leaving, only to return a year later as a new character. Jonathan was the true, lasting legacy anyway. I'd really love their thoughts on Colin. I had completely given up on GL that I didn't even know that the writers had a menopausal Reva give birth! WHY?! Seeing the clips on YouTube is a hard watch. I've really enjoyed reading the thread, and thanks to everyone who shared their analysis of Kim Zimmer's book, especially @alwaysAMC . I feel like I have the book in my hands and was almost there in real time for the shenanigans.
  4. It's my new favorite thread, and it's definitely more entertaining than anything happening at Y&R. It's a shame what JG has done to Bill Bell's beloved show.
  5. Oh yeah. Sam is Alexis's daughter, and Valentin is Charlotte's dad. They're cousins. Now, as a GL Jammy fan, I'm not one to judge. 😁 But the chemistry has to be there. I guess Danny is just helping her out if the writers have acknowledged their ties. I did like Jake and Charlotte from a few years ago. It's about time Trina (and the writers) recognize that Portia lied about Trina's paternity and that Taggert raised her. He's still her father.
  6. I wouldn't mind them as a couple. Beyond that, I just want Tracy and Jane front burner. I love the actor and character so much. Laura Wright's hair is gorgeous as usual. I think there's a chem test going on between Danny and Charlotte, but aren't they related? I feel like they are.
  7. Shanice looks pretty. I love the new style. The BTG writers have got to stop being so heavy-handed. It's obvious that Kat is going to need Eva's help. We didn't need June, who sounds like an extra from The Color Purple, to take another swing with the hammer. Speaking of Kat, she needs to let Nicole mind her own cat. The woman is grown. And Leslie is insufferable as always.
  8. They're making Camryn Grimes go through gunk for her guarantees. This nonsense makes the AI and Matt Clark drivel look like Shakespeare. There's not one good thing about the show. Not even the sets are nice anymore.
  9. Wow. I just checked my Audible, and I still haven't listened to Mo's book. But this makes me more interested in finally getting started. (Okay, I'm lying. I'm probably going to read Susan Lucci's new memoir, GL's Jonathan's Journey first). I feel for Tamara. She comes across as nice, considerate, and professional. And why shouldn't she have liked the Carly/Alcazar pairing? Those two were hot. MO is far too old, especially now, to be a grade-school bully, because another actor didn't think solely being in the Sonny/Jason orbit was the greatest gift. And screw Steve too. It makes more sense why she left GH and Alcazar's character was written out. I've been off the Mo train for a while. The ego on that man but being a jerk to his co-stars because the show dared not to be about him for once? Not cool.
  10. What's with the endless musical guests? I'd rather some good stories than these one-off performances that don't do much.
  11. Naomi is the worst. I don't know what Jacob sees in this shrew. And I'll be honest, I don't care anything about her current struggles. They lost me with the character. Now, it would be interesting if she secretly got pregnant and tried to abort because of the gene. 100%. But I don't think the writers remember this. Eva should be in the gray area, but acts as if she never did anything wrong.
  12. I feel like I heard that rumor too. I also think there was an issue between him and TB when she played Carly. I saw Maurice allude to it on State of Mind. If Steve did intervene, I'm not mad at it. Carly and Jason have a dysfunctional relationship but it's been platonic since Bush was in office and it should stay that way. GH needs to work on their other stories that don't involve Willow and Drew. I was so bored by today's episode. Britt being a raging b*tch every time she breathes is not compelling. Steve needs to say something here.
  13. All of this. I'm TeamKat too. Blood doesn't mean you have to put up with toxic people. I used to like Eva but she throws rocks and hides her hands all the time. She's not an underdog but a whiner who gives off "on sight" energy but wants to play victim. Although, the writers compromised Kat by making her take NoMas back in an hour after he cheated. More capable writers could thread the needle as to why Nicole seems all up in Eva's behind but constantly dismisses her own daughter. Nicole comes off frigid most of the time. She doesn't have to be Dani but dang, lighten her up a bit.
  14. What did Finola do to get stuck with the hammy Thespian? There's scenery chewing and gobbling everything in sight. As for the story, it's so dumb. But at least Emma is worried about her grandmother. Britt needs to go. She's a wooden, one note b*tch and it offends me that I have to root for Carly, but here we are. KT may not be munching the set like what's his name but a director really needs to tell her to find some ways to humanize Britt. GH does have a tendency to make the female characters shrill (Kristina, Lulu) but they're not being shoved down our throats currently. The actress who plays Joss also needs some direction about humanizing her character. She is smug all the time. I wouldn't mind if Joss were played like an heiress but she is insufferable all the time.
  15. Thanks. This sounds like my kind of book. A lot is said about Kim and Reva, but both tell it like it is.
  16. Willow needs to plug or stab Britt with a syringe next. I hate when I have to root for Carly but Britt is a one-note, obnoxious shrew. I know the show doesn't care about Liz, but the chemistry between her and Jason is still there. Britt and her Rocco obsession are not needed on the canvas, especially given all the reasons mentioned in other posts here. Liz, Robin, and Sam were more worthy rivals for Carly, and the connection was simply undeniable. I hope Kelly gets another itch to leave the show. Onto other things, I wish GH would drop the Joss-Alias story. Joss doesn't have IT. I can't name one decent story she has ever carried. And only in the soap world can Nathan, who has been "dead" for years, be promoted to lead detective. He can go too, if I'm being honest. I don't think Maxie's return can save him.
  17. You can't spin those BTG numbers. Winterfest was a missed opportunity to build momentum (nothing happened), and going all in on Anita's cancer as the umbrella story is a choice. GH's numbers look steady. There are some issues, but it's the best all-around soap right now.
  18. Alexis is a hypocritical POS at times. All the time. She has a rap sheet a mile long, but is always hyperventilating about Willow. I wish the show cared about Ric so that he could rub her nose in her crap.
  19. Beyond just bad writing, the constant telling and not showing is why it's hard to invest in this Matt Clark story. We never saw any of this mentorship. And Victor constantly being an overload is tiring. Respectfully, but Eric Braden can't even stand up in most of his scenes. Shoo in Adam into the big bad role. It's not as if he's doing anything meaningful. He and Chelsea are tired.
  20. Absolute worst. I can't believe Willow actually whacked Drew again. She's gone from a bore to my favorite hot mess.
  21. 😂😂 This is so true about Reva. Each story was more ridiculous than the last. It's been interesting and informative reading the posts about what others enjoyed about Guiding Light and how long they watched it for. I was too young for the Roger Thorpe era and Maureen Bauer stuff but I know it's lore that her being killed off set off the show going in a bad direction. I really became a regular viewer in 1997. I think Rebecca Budig was still Michelle and had gone blind but Cynthia Watros was IT for me. I loved every minute of Annie torturing Josh and Reva, the perfection of that scene in the courthouse and Laura Wright's Cassie being introduced. Danny/Michelle and the Santos saga hooked me even more but that waned after the Michelle recast. Nancy St. Alban was serviceable but she never captured the same spark as Bethany Joy Lenz. My peak viewing was Jonathan and Tammy. Their love story should not have worked. For some, it'll always be taboo and gross, but Tom Pelphrey was a force of nature, and his chemistry with Stephanie Gatschet was out of this world. It was ham-fisted that Reva was his mother but Kim Zimmer and Tom were magic together. The Jammy story jumped the shark with the Lizzie baby stuff, and once the actors left, I was gone as a regular viewer, too. I kept up with SOD and saw some episodes here and there, but I just never returned to it like I once did. Too many choices were made, and by the time the show ended, it felt merciful.
  22. Ugh. He's not rambling about anything that couldn't wait until the evening news or punted to cable. I saw a preview of a Kat/Ted scene that I really wanted to watch. Hopefully, Paramount uploads it later.
  23. I couldn't make it until the end. It felt like a humiliation ritual and the dragging of a dead, smelly body. I think they had Alan Spaulding die on a park bench! Thanks. Much appreciated. I'll look for those posts.
  24. Is he still talking? I couldn't change the channel fast enough.
  25. You're right. It's hard to blame any actor for checking out of this mess.
