  1. I stopped watching the show regularly in 2007, but Google says that they hooked up/or he was sexually harassing her and that the story wasn't any good. Not surprised. I actually just watched the episode when AM returns in 2005. He almost hits Marina with his car, and then it turns flirtatious. If I hadn't read here that he was once thought to be her dad, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. But it's so gross. I'm a hypocrite because I loved Jammy, but at least those two didn't grow up together.
  2. Ava was egregiously bad. Beyond. I've always felt she was a poor man's replacement and her intro to the show was just ridiculous. Why would Jonathan pay a $3K debt for a random girl he just met? Like, he just gave the loan shark all the cash. Then she was Sandy's secret wife, Olivia's daughter and then went into her bad girl era by hooking up with Bill. I don't remember if she made it to the end of the show. All I know is that she should've never been part of the show, but alas, she's also forgettable.
  3. That's a good point. GL kept taking Cassie's kids from her, but then you had Reva getting a new kid every few years. Her San Cristobel kid, Will, did return as a mini psycho. I think he was a 7-year-old terrorizing Springfield, and maybe killed Edmund. I saw some clips and lost interest. Laura Wright saw the writing on the wall and got out of there. Although, I wish she could've played the scenes of grieving Tammy's death. She was such a Momma bear in that role and that underdog heroine who had chemistry with almost everyone. I'm surprised Laura never won any Emmys for her role as Cassie.
  4. You're right. I'm anti-Trina these days (because she's such a drip), but Isaiah did show up to her place. I'd probably have an attitude too. I missed a few episodes but it seems like Isaiah and Portia patched things up since they found out Curtis is the baby's dad. Now he's trying to get her and Trina to reconcile. I wish there was some more tension with Isaiah or character development.
  5. I love that Drew, Willow, and Sidwell are all a**holes who have screwed each other over. And Sidwell was right---no one's coming to save you, Drew. Maybe Kai. Trina continues to be a downer. Portia is messy but Trina acts so personally offended. The writers make her so one note.
  6. I found the scene where Danny and Michelle agree to keep Hope's name as is. The explanation feels a bit flat. I actually felt more for Cassie. Starts at 30:04.
  7. It feels like a changing of the guard. 15 years too late, but I'll take it. GH is at its best when it is an ensemble show.
  8. I'm jealous of those who got to see the Karen Wolek trial and that testimony live. I get goosebumps every time I see the YouTube clip. History in the making. So much so that I went out of my way to find it, decades later. Judith Light, the talent that you are. She is simply amazing in these scenes and has so much range as an actress. I will never forgive OLTL for what they did to Marty's character toward the end of her run. She had so many layers, at first. I started watching OLTL after her gang rape, and I liked that she got to be raw, messy, complicated while still being a victim. In between my GL binge, I started a Todd Manning one, and I wasn't mad at Marty at all for not exonerating him of the hospital rapes. Why should she have helped him? But then it got weird after she and Todd became quasi-friends. The real insult is when they made her crazy over John McBain. Marty/Susan deserved so much better. But for a time, I really loved that Marty got to be more than just a paint-by-numbers heroine.
  9. I wouldn't mind this plot twist. The Liz/Dante chem testing scene was cute. Nothing special but cute. I still want LiRic, but I also like Liz having options. Gio and Emma are great together. I really love that she doesn't have to be dumbed down to be with him. It feels like they've abandoned Joss as Sydney Bristow. Or at the very least, she's not shoved down our throats every day. Carly's screentime is also scaled back, making her easier to like/tolerate.
  10. Agree. I do hope that once Liza's kids turn 18, they can make their own decisions if they want to know Susan as their grandmother. Or just to hear her side of things. Unless of course they are Scientologists and contact is forbidden even then. I do hope that everyone involved in this has some kind of peace. I fully believe in going no contact if it brings you peace but I also feel bad for Susan if she didn't initiate this which it doesn't sound like she did.
  11. Oh, how I love this movie. It's terrible in every camp way. @alwaysAMC Thank you for the chapter reviews so far. I was also nosy about the Susan/Liza feud. I also think Liza is the one going no contact, and that's her right. I say cut off anyone who interferes with your peace - family included. Liza regularly posts her kids on IG and shown love to a nanny, I believe, who she says was the one who raised her. I've never seen Liza mention/post any family outside of her nuclear one, which leads me to believe she's gone no contact with her brother, too. This feud has to be really bad if she didn't even go to her father's funeral and it's been 10 years since they spoke, according to Liza.
  12. Ross' mustache took me out. I thought he would start twirling it. I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out why Michelle and Danny named their son Robbie. I thought it was so random and I then I found out that everyone is basically named after someone lol I've seen clips of Bill and Lizzie and yes, she is the most likable in this pairing. Maybe they could've become the next young supercouple.
  13. I could see Willow doing that....and I'd be cheering her on lol. I don't care all that much about Maxie getting out of her coma. I didn't care that she was gone, and Nathan's return has been a bust. I think they're rushing the beats because the actress doesn't live in CA. Or it's just typical GH writing. Sonny romancing anyone these days is a hard pass for me.
  14. The Lily/Damian story in 1997 got me interested in ATWT. The Hogan Sheffer years hooked me. I wonder what Hogan could've done for GL as a head writer. Sadly, they're all being wasted on GH. Re: The Dinah/Billy sibling bond. During my 2005 binge, I felt so dumb at first for not realizing they were brother and sister. Dinah is usually in scenes with Jonathan, Edmund, Cassie, and her dad. I wondered why Bill was at her invention. This video was recommended to me yesterday. Wendy was soooooo good as Dinah. And Gina still made the role her own.
  15. Agree. The era of the star is over and everyone wants to be an influencer and star in their own reality TV show online. I cut off KT/MB after 20 minutes because she is somehow more exhausting than he is. I already know more than I need to about her at this point. Originally, I liked the premise of this show but it comes off more and more as a vehicle for Maurice to air every bit of his life and others. I feel like I'm sitting in on a real life therapy session without a licensed doctor to navigate the discussion. I don't think he's forcing anyone to be on SOM, but I do think there's some degree of not wanting to offend him.
  16. Erica's un-abortion on AMC comes to mind. Now, that was a first. Admittedly, I wasn't watching GL when Reva got pregnant. And even all these years later, I still don't want to watch full episodes of anything past Jan. 2007. So, maybe there was a meaningful story about Reva becoming a late-in-life mother again. But as @DRW50 noted, was the story told properly? Everything around Reva usually became a farce. Hey, I don't mind since it's a soap opera. But this random kid with Jeffrey is one of those stories I never could just roll with. The writers knew they were nearing cancellation and still chose this story. But again, if it was a meaningful story and not a Reva ego stroke, I'm happy to stand corrected. But you're 100% right that Reva having another baby is at the bottom of her other wild stories.
  17. AW is one of the few soaps that I never really got into. It got canceled as I really started watching soaps, and as a kid, I was super excited about Passions starting. But I do know that Frankie's death was too much for me to ever give it a chance. That was so graphic. I'll never understand how that got approved by the network.
  18. I love this for you. ❤️ Susan is really appreciative of her fans and never takes them for granted. The new crop of soap stars are the same way. Daphnée Duplaix is amazing and has liked a few of my comments. I can't wait to read your review of her memoir. I still need to get it.
  19. 😂😂😂 How was this pitch ever approved? I'd say someone should've lost their job, but Guiding Light was all but dead at this point. I really wish the show could've gone out with more dignity (and not just because of this foolish story).
  20. Nice interview. I like the respect shown to Zimmer's daytime roots. There are so many interviewers who can't even be bothered to know the names of the characters or their stories. This is so true. I thought GL had a hard on for Harley but now that I think about it, Reva and Josh (especially Reva), almost always had a front burner story. Amnesia, clones, princess, Jonathan, etc. Even the March 199 write up from @alwaysAMC made me snicker a bit. Why were Reva and Josh even thinking about another kid at that point? Unless this was the set up to San Cristobel and Jonathan reveals. Speaking of 1999, I've moved on to the origins of Manny, which started that year. The chemistry was just so perfect.
  21. Alexa Havins really shined in this episode. And that last shot of Luke's voice reminding Lulu that she'd always be a Spencer....😢 It's almost hard to believe that the two actors never shared scenes together. I felt every emotion as though they had. The flashbacks were a very nice touch. RIP Tony Geary.
  22. Re: Michelle/Jeffrey Marina suspected that Edmund did something to Michelle and started investigating. Jeffrey figured out that Edmund took her baby and then told Marina that Cassie was Hope's mom. He wanted to spare Cassie's feelings and not bring up the suspicions at the christening. At the hospital, he was hostile towards Danny, who is as soft as cotton mobster. Once there is rock solid DNA proof (for a soap that is) that Michelle and Danny are Hope's parents, he still tries to encourage Cassie to file for custody and has an oppo file on Danny. All of this is presented as though Jeffrey is a stand up guy and I just don't get it. Michelle had her baby stolen, and Jeffrey basically didn't care. The 80s version of Billy sounds like my kind of guy. He's easily entertaining from all that I've seen so far. And I did see the scene of Billy breaking Olivia out of the nut house. It stuck with me because a young Quinn from Scandal was the nurse lol.
  23. Laura was unwatchable when she was wailing over a dead body in her car. Like c'mon. You fought the Cassadines, but she's a shell of who she used to be. The writers have really ruined her over the years. My dislike really grew as she basically turned her back on Nikolas. I hate the writers for what they have done to the dark and brooding prince. I know the real life circumstances are what they are but they could at least give Nikolas closure and ship him off to Greece since no actor has ever been able to reconcile the brooding, pedigree, charm, sweetness and manipulation that Tyler Christopher gave Nikolas. I'm here for Liz and Dante. I really want Liz and Ric but I need Liz to be in a story finally. The more men thrown at her (with story), the better. The Lucas and Marco scenes were really good. They actually made me care for a few seconds about whatever is going on with Britt. Molly and this novel story is not it. It was less than two years ago that she became a breakthrough character with that horrid ADELA story. And now it's all about Cody's hurt feelings because of a novel.
  24. I'm here for Dante/Liz and, hopefully, not a rehash of whatever Dante and Sam were. The writers just put them together without much story. I also still like Ric/Liz. Liz needs to be wooed, flown out and put into a mattress by the silver foxes of Port Charles this year. As for the Luke tribute, I wonder if the show got Jonathan Jackson back for it. Even if it's just Lucky somewhere thinking of his dad. Lucky's character has become a disaster, but for a moment, he was so important to the canvas and the L&L legacy.
