Lulu is obnoxious. Not even AH can save the character for me. I don't even like Brook Lyn and think her frigid "romance" with Chase is a bore, but Lulu came out of a coma japping like some dog at her. And it's really none of her business why Brook Lyn gave up her child for adoption. I hate when Carly makes the most sense in a scenario. And this silliness with Joss becoming a WSB agent is what you line a bird cage with. Meanwhile, Trina is barely a day player.

It's nice to see Dani's unhinged side. But she's now also putting her future into being a momager. Chelsea still has to drop the bomb about her purse line. Before we get there, the Dupree ladies better werk! I think Eva is starting to soften when it comes to Ted and Nicole, the more she gets to know them. But certain moments trigger her and Kat being a snob isn't helping. Kat is right and wrong all at the same time. I'd love for this story to be about the two being switched at birth; that Eva is really Nicole and Ted's, since Kat's identity is focused so much on her wealth, while Eva had to get it out of the mud. I love Jon Lindstrom as a bad guy. Nurse Shanice remains perfection.

DAYS: March 2025 Discussion Thread
I tuned out after Doug's death and was on a hiatus before that. The stories were the typical Ron nonsensical fair, but the Body &Soul tripe broke me. I'll give the show a chance once the new writers come on board in April. I want to see how they handle John's goodbye. Still cant believe Drake is gone and the Jarlena love story is coming to an end.

Count me as another who just rolls their eyes at the characters' ages. It makes no sense. Or a simple timeline. Vernon keeps talking about the Civil Rights Movement, as though he were a contemporary of MLK. But he keeps insisting it was the 70s. Obviously, it wasn't peaches and roses then but it's not the era Vernon talks about. And I really wish that either Bill/Dani, Nicole/Ted, or Martin/Smitty had younger kids. I don't get why Martin (who I think is in his late 20s) has teenage kids! I know they were adopted, but still. Are Dani or Nicole about to be grandmoms? Naomi does hump like a bunny. Anyway... Kat is right about Eva but is so bitchy and a snob lol. Eva really stood out as a character. The actress comes across as very genuine and is a nice contrast to spoiled Kat. Looking forward to these two going up against each other.

Very true about Jane Elliot. It shouldn't rest on her shoulders. I think it's more her than the writing that makes Tracy one of the few standouts. Do you know if block taping is why JJ couldn't film the Lucky/Cyrus/Liz scenes? His return has been a total flop. But it would've been nice to see him in those confrontation scenes.

Agree. I'm proud of myself for limiting my rage posting on BlueSky. Just being frustrated with this show is too much energy. The last time I enjoyed it was when Tracy lit into Carly and Sonny a few weeks ago and got through to Jason. Bless the soap Gods for Jane Elliott. It didn't matter to me that Tracy kidnapping Willow's kids made no sense. Tracy and Ric are the few bright spots. Willow and Drew are dull as dishwater. If she had a spark of life, she could be karma against Carly in human form. Monica/Carly 2.0 before the writers worship at Carly's feet. The writers have gone out of their way to make the characters so hollow and generic; Trina has gotten it the worst. She's a ChatGPT of what some folks think a Black girl should be. Y'all won, GH. I stopped caring because the show clearly doesn't care. Kristina is badly miscast. She's a one note shrew always japping at Ava who shouldn't be begging for spare change. Lulu is a shrew too but AH gives her a certain charm and charisma. Jason is far too old to pretend to be someone's daddy. This story was fresh in 1997 when Michael was born, but it's buried in cobwebs now. They can't make fetch happen with Sasha. I don't think GH is suffering because of the Gates. It's just sterile to watch.

This is where I'm at. I mostly have the show on as background noise because I don't care enough to pay attention. I looked up, and Sharon and Phyllis were being held hostage, arguing about Nick but not telling anyone they'd been kidnapped. Every time I see Devon, I just shake my head. The character came alive with Hilary. I'm still bitter.

Thank you. Figured it was time to finally jump in. Also wanted to add that Anita's "Stephanie Forrester" side is coming out. I also think she's Hayley's long lost mother. I feel like there's been small anvils. But I'd really love for a male Dupree to come out of the shadows. They can retcon a Black sheep who got kicked out or chose to walk away.

Beyond the Gates has made me a faithful viewer of soaps, not just out of habit or to hate watch. I love that the characters range from grounded (Nicole, Naomi) to regal (Anita) to downright messy (Silk Press Sheila 😂⠀, Dani, and Bill). There are so many shades of Black POVs. That said, it's not perfect. I wish the show would pull back from Dani, who is exhausting. I actually like her and get why the writers have anchored the show around her. But every episode so far has been about her and everyone reacting to her stunt of the day. Today was no different, but the silly plot point of having the ex and her family show up at the wedding did make me feel bad for her. But I also see why Bill had enough of her. (Karla looked great tho). I wish one of the daughters was conflicted about Bill, torn between their parents. But lol at Chelsea's phone being perfectly positioned to catch her mom crashing out. Martin still doesn't do much for me as a character. He's just there. I love Black Amy Vining. She's my new fave, gossiping about everyone at the hospital. Derek does seem to have a hint of something being off about him. I'll take anything since he and Ashley are boring. I hope the Ted/Leslie story develops into a strong B story. I think he's been in three scenes so far. Also, wouldn't Ted have formed a friendship with Bill? That's an easy conflict with Nicole if he still wants to be cool with him.
