The current angel screen records. A previous angel did a backend rip which extracted the upscaled 1080p file. The quality is still good nonetheless and we appreciate all angels (and their time) 🙏🏼 YouTube quality is rubbish, which I believe they are doing deliberately. I suspect they don’t want high quality episodes in circulation, for free.

Nobody was suggesting that. Upscale was the keyword used.

A HD broadcast (or stream) will upscale the original SD content to make it appear much sharper and crisper, colours will pop. But agreed, it’s still 480p.

They’ve reused that exterior night footage outside Bill’s house. It’s taken from the episode where Taylor (HT) went to Bill’s house in the middle of the night and shot him.

HD is fully supported on Videoland (both the app and web browser). HD playback however is dependent on your browser and internet speed. Additionally, the title itself will dictate SD or HD. Videoland have always up-scaled Bold into HD, unless they made a very recent change.

I think when you asked a few weeks ago, someone mentioned it’s already there (Cala Classics). It’s superior quality too.

Where are the recent episodes being sourced from? Not a complaint (I promise), but episodes appear to be SD 576p quality (I only had a quick look in the October 2022 folder). Would it be worthwhile sourcing the international distribution edit instead? For those that may not know, episodes distributed to international markets are 2.5 minutes longer - they contain a bonus scene not broadcast in the US/Canada (the scene is known as ‘Prologue C’, Brad Bell explains here). 10play (AU) and Videoland (NL) both carry the longer edit. 10play is same pace as the US, however the 10play video interface is a dismal SD 576p resolution. Videoland on the other hand is HD, albeit 3 weeks behind the US broadcast. I believe the CBS website is full HD 1080p, however episodes are the shorter 19 minute edit.

I agree with you. My thoughts… the 360p video resolution on YT is 100% deliberate. They don’t want HD episodes in circulation for free. Watch what happens after all seasons hit YT - they’ll appear on a streaming service (like Netflix) in glorious full HD quality, for a subscriber fee of course. B Bell is all the coin.

To the wonderful angel uploading the Videoland episodes, VL recently updated their player interface with a toggle allowing subtitles to be turned on/off. Not essential to turn off, but just thought I would mention. There is also a toggle to force 1080p HD playback (and Bold looks beautiful and crisp at full HD).

Yes, the screenshot earlier was from the Videoland iPhone app. The download feature (known as ‘Download to Go’) appears only in the app, not on the desktop website. Once downloaded to mobile, the file is encrypted within the VL app. I explored my iPhone after download and couldn’t locate the file. Some info on ‘Download to Go’ if anyone was curious - it basically allows you to watch content offline:

I have a feeling they deliberately upload to YT in bad quality. They must not want HD copies in circulation. Sad really.

Speaking of the YT episodes, while we are all very grateful for these early seasons, the quality of the episodes at 360p resolution is often difficult to watch, particularly on a large tv screen. When they began uploading season 1, the quality was excellent at 720p, sometimes even 1080p. Now it’s poor and often the left or right audio is sadly mute.

Thanks to those angels who uploaded the missing episodes, 5127 and 5128. The episodes on YouTube weren’t “cut”, they skipped uploading both presumably due to their content. The fact they skipped is odd given the rape is rehashed in a flashback in episode 5174 - this being the episode where Brooke confronts Stephanie.

Fully agree @divinemotion. When you say it works with VPN, do you mean when using the new mobile app, or via desktop website on PC? I have always used the mobile app on iPhone, then Airplayed to tv (with VPN active) - this always worked seamlessly. With the new V2 app, I get the geoblock error message (on iPhone). Appreciate any guidance anyone has. Thank you.

Do you have evidence re distributors? All Videoland content cannot be played on the new mobile app due to Geoblocking. It’s not just affecting B&B.

Videoland have now pushed everyone onto their new app “Videoland V2”. I can no longer stream as it geoblocks, even with VPN set to Netherlands. Anyone know a solution? Translation of error message: Unfortunately this video is not available at your location

Latest episode on Videoland is 1670. Storylines: - Lauren/Scott/Sheila/Eric on Catalina Island - Brooke/Ridge work on the men’s line - Taylor helping James Warwick with Sofia - Anthony Armando has joined Spectra, much to Macy’s annoyance. Side note, Kimberlin is very pregnant in these 1993 episodes. Sheila will disappear soon unfortunately. Does anyone remember how long KB was offscreen at that point?
