  1. That is Maria Arena for you. Pure definition of her tenure.
  2. I wish it would return to streaming, along with the two-part reunion.
  3. Yes he did, but, when Charles Pratt, Jr. took helm as co-executive producer and head writer, he dropped the storyline, because he was uncomfortable with telling the story. And kind of the same with Nikki's M.S. diagnosis; it's not just mentioned as a trope if she's stressing out, etc. The potential this story had if only Adrienne Leon had not been fired from the role of Colleen.
  4. I know people herald the Dobsons, however, given what I've seen and read, they were not as well-off as they are made to be. That first year, a lot and I do mean A LOT of mistakes were made, in terms of story and casting, and they continued to happen. Now, whether it was the Dobsons, their co-executive producers, the production company or NBC making those shots, it seems like from the start, this soap was doomed. Ava Lazar, at the end of the day, was perfectly cast in the role of Santana, and she brought a depth and warmth to the role that each of her successors failed to bring.
  5. I know. But, for some reason, my streaming on my PS4 hates those kind of sites.
  6. Yet, despite this, they cast Margaret Michaels, who like her predecessor, also did not look or sound like a "stereotypical" Latina. By the time Gina Gallego was cast, this role was such a throw-away I am sure Gallego lasted as long as she did.
  7. The 1990s were such a great standing for this soap. Miss those times. This was fantastic, and I find it interesting that both Nicole Forester and Laura Wright were working at the same time in the same role.
  8. You are not in the minority. I know plenty who have applauded Tuesdays episode for the Jordan/Portia scenes, as well as Tina's own scenes, despite being with Cameron. It felt nice to see topical issues being tackled on American soap operas again, especially in the right way.
  9. Oh! This one is going to be FUN!
  10. Susan Banks and Susan Dansby would be a dream duo of head writers, and then bring on Wendy Riche as executive producer.
  11. Kind of sad the edge Emily had during Melanie Smith's portrayal was taken away with Kelly Menighan in the role.
  12. Oh boy did you miss out on a fantastic series!!!
  13. My thoughts are it might be Monica. Don't ask me why.
  14. The first part was quite good, but the second I did not enjoy as much.
  15. Dying to start watching this soap. Wish a platform other than BritBox would pick it up.
  16. I am hooked on this soap, and usually wait for 20 to 25 episodes to build up, and then do a binge watch.
  17. My dream Sarah Webber recast would be Bethany Joy Lenz.
  18. Considering getting into this series. Love David Boreanaz and Max Thieriot.
  19. This franchise needs a major break. There is nothing about it enticing to watch.
  20. It irks me how horribly Pamela was handled from the getgo. She was continually mentioned, and had some great material at the beginning. And while Shirley Anne Field did quite well, I do understand Bridget Dobson's desire to hire Marj Dusay for the role, and the idea of making Pamela a Lucinda Walsh-esque character could have been amazing. The character assassination of Santana Andrade, brought on by multiple misrecasts, is one of the worst things to happen to Santa Barbara. That first year a lot of mistakes were made, casting and story wise. Her response is kind of funny, because Bridget & Jerome Dobson were executive producers during her entire run. Only the co-executive producer changed, twice, during her duration in the role. When Lazar joined, Jeffrey Hayden was co-executive producer. When she left, Mary-Ellis Bunim was the co-executive producer. I think the fact they dyed her hair darker was another mistake, and it was clear they were trying to re-paint Santana into an anti-Eden and Kelly looking character (a.k.a. blonde). I feel like TPTB kept teasing pairings for Julia, and they just did not commit to any of them. Lazar was perfectly cast as Santana Andrade. Margaret Michaels got off rough, but, by the conclusion of her run she was beginning to embody the role.. and her fashion slowly began getting better. But, with recast, the role kept being destroyed. I could have seen Santana becoming somewhat of a Phyllis Summers-type character, where Brandon was concerned, and truly pushing her interior design company, which is only storyline I felt like was dropped.
