  1. I have said it before and I will say it again: replacing Chris Goutman with Frank Valentini as executive producer at As the World Turns would have been golden. Cast would have been respected (a.k.a. Martha Byrne's 2008 exit would not have happened) and I do think we could have kept some things about the soap that we loved (sets). Gary Tomlin, despite my actual not-to-favourable views on him, might have worked as executive producer as Guiding Light over Ellen Wheeler (who should never have been hired). Under Tomlin's production, One Life to Live did win Outstanding Daytime Drama in 2002, their only time winning the award. As @titan1978 posted, Wendy Riche would have done wonders at either P&G produced soap. Hell, she'd even be a shoe-in for The Young and the Restless in today's world. Ron Carlivati would absolutely TANK The Young and the Restless into oblivion, but he'll never get the chance to touch the soap. Sony/CBS don't want him there.
  2. I do. Especially a regime that would write for a streaming-only soap opera. But so long as Ken Corday, Albert Alarr and Ron Carlivati are involved, I don't see hope. I look at how Greg Meng handled the DOOL App exclusives and thought they were executed ten times better than Beyond Salem and even what we're getting on the main serial now. Meng is needed back, first and foremost. Snaps to you, Eroll, for having the balls to say that. I feel like [most] soap press would've stepped back and kept their mouth shut. It's refreshing to see someone in soap press still have the actual gumption to not kiss the backsides of others. 👌🏻
  3. Because she is a creation of Ron Carlivati, so he cares ten times more about her than anyone else. Female nudity has somewhat always been more acceptable than male nudity, which, to me, is a sexist double standard.
  4. 95% sure it's this, y'all.
  5. Selina Wu walking back into town on Thursday's episode was everything. I love it. If we're dishing out new home sets, can we please get Selina's home where she is surrounded by beautiful men and women!
  6. Is it that Albert Alarr is the PR person now?
  7. How fantastic for her!! Those who attend are going to be in for a real treat.
  8. Don't forget real estate agent thrown in there for 2.5 seconds!
  9. Same. If anything, maybe one or two shades darker for a lip gloss would be nicer, but I feel that way for most of the women on the soap. Everything is so light-washed with their production model. My exact thoughts. It does seem Kirsten Storms' influence over Maxie's wardrobe is happening. From the outfits to even her shoes. The boots? Those are completely Storms over Maxie. Maxie outfit vs. Storms outfit: What they need to do is fire the horse and the moss, and take Storms to an appropriate place to buy some staple pieces and some accessories that can change the outfit with the episode (jackets, bracelets, pants), and really re-focus the Maxie look. Everything is either too small or too oversized, and no one is stopping this. I genuinely believe TPTB at Disney-ABC look and go, "Eh. Let them do what they want. We aren't dressing them", and it shows. I recall, on The Young and the Restless, when it was clear Melody Thomas Scott had gained some weight (nothing wrong with that) they re-styled Nikki's wardrobe to still be in-character, but she wore clothing that flattered her. You sit the performer down, ask what they are and are not comfortable wearing and/or showing off, and you do your job to style them in-character that way. It's not a hard concept, but I guess TPTB simply do not care with certain actors (Storms, Genie Francis). I mean, Amanda Setton wore those damned jackets for months after she returned from maternity leave. I remember Jen Lilley recalling her time as Maxie and she kept remarking they pressured her to remain thin, and it soured the experience for her, which is unfortunate. I also have to empathize, because of all she's gone through in her personal health journey, and I am sure that's something she deals with. TPTB at the wardrobe department need to feel comfortable stepping in and doing their job. Some looks that would be amazing for either actor:
  10. I'm loving the darker hair on her; it does look like she went a level or two higher, and I like that. The eyebrows need to be filled out at the end, but, overall, I haven't been hating Kirsten Storms' look as Maxie the past few times we've seen her. I am sure the blonde will return eventually, but I am loving this new Maxie look.
  11. Shocking split? Nah... but it's hilarious how they used YR50 portrays for all but Michael Mealor!
  12. Given the changes behind-the-scenes and knowing Ron Carlivati's likeness for doing s**t like this, I'd say it's a mixture of the two. Greg Meng would have never allowed this.
  13. They definitely have; they're even filming things to insert into episodes to fill them out and make scripts last longer.
  14. Considering he is Bradley Bell's co-head writer it does not surprise me. He'll continue the s**tshow Bell has been spewing.
  15. Honestly, Kelly Monaco has been checked out since the D.U.D. storyline (Dud of Day). They probably are not commenting because they do not know. When Leslie Charleson made her surprise phone call during the Epiphany memorial, you could absolutely tell she was reading off the page as she spoke. Given her age and the fact she fell off of a horse, my guess is that she's likely not in shape to be on set or filming at this time.
  16. Same. I liked her in the role; I couldn't have imagined Morgan Fairchild long-term in the role. If anything, she would've been a limited pop-in every so often to stir things up for Bobby & Pam.
  17. Or, maybe, throw them some extra budget for a few months? LOL.
  18. The gays knew.
  19. If she is the replacement how do we make it PERMANENT! She can fix this soap in a hot-ass minute, and I hope she does. C'mon, keep her!
