  1. I was watching the live broadcast, and I didn't notice that the "currency" was fake play money because I was looking at everyone's faces. At first I wondered who was paying off June -- who is June really? and why isn't Naomi reacting to June's new apparent wealth? Then I wondered if Naomi had found some special social services funding for June, hence Naomi not being surprised? But even then, wouldn't Naomi protest June spending her funding on this? I went to twitter to scan reactions to this scene and saw everyone saying that it was Monopoly money! And then I commented here and quickly returned to watching the live broadcast. I rewatched the scene later on Paramount Plus knowing what to watch for. This is why I like the interactions online of group viewership, because I miss things on the first watching of the episodes. I learn from other viewers what I missed, and then I rewatch. Plus it's just fun to watch together online.
  2. Elsewhere online, I saw snarky/angry predictions that maybe Cricket will facetime the news of Chance's death to Nina, and Billy will facetime the news of Chance's death to Jill, and maybe we won't see either facetime, it will be offscreen and simply mentioned that it happened. And something similar with Nate and Amy regarding Damian's death. All of this was commented as snark and not intended to be a spoiler. But the replies were yeah that's likely.
  3. I didn't mention it but there was a long sequence in which Carter told Cane that he'd killed Damian to help Cane get Lily, and it was long and detailed about how he plotted it and executed his plan. When Carter realized that Cane was angry instead of happy about what Carter had done, then Carter was outraged and wanted Lily to suffer. This went on for most of the episode but MEANWHILE . . . I was too angry to mention that amidst everything happening in the Friday CDN/Monday US episode with Carter and Chance dying and the traintracks and phones working again ... there were *still* discussions amongst characters about who would take over which corporation! Amanda had a contract written up for Nikki to sign over control of Chancellor from Nikki to Chance, which Nikki was about to sign if Amanda would guarantee they release Nick from captivity. The only reason Nikki didn't sign was that she learned that Nick had escaped. Billy did try to talk Carter out of holding Lily/Cane at gunpoint. But then at the end, after Billy saw Chance die, Billy was still angling for control of Chancellor and wanting to negotiate a deal with Chance. After seeing the bodies, Phyllis, too, was still angling for control of anything. The characters of Billy and Phyllis have long been ruined. This made it even worse. The character of Amanda was ruined here. Mishael Morgan can act wonderfully with any script but. . . Amanda helping Cane with all of this nonsense was horrid, including knowing about the phone signal jammer, and knowing where Nick was being held captive, etc. Even though Amanda is Cane's paid attorney and is paid to stand by him, this was mobster-type lawyering. At the end, Cane was still trying to court Lily -- and she was having NONE of this, as he was responsible for the deaths because he engineered the entire situation. He wistfully told Amanda that he hadn't given up on Lily. The *SIDE PLOT* was that Sharon was caring for the injured Nick in the traincar, (Nick was injured in a prior episode while escaping from captivity) -- Sharon was caring for the injured Nick in the traincar while Sally went to check on the traintrack status. Nick and Sharon kissed briefly. I guess JG threw in one second of a Shick kiss -- with thoughts that people would want to watch the other 35 minutes of the horrors of this episode. NOPE NOPE NOPE. I'm not a Shick fan. But do understand and respect that there are many Shick fans out there, so if you are a Shick fan, just find a gif of the kiss and skip the rest of the episode. Nick was delirious from pain, so Josh Griffith might write the characters to be dismissive of the kiss later on. At the end, the sound of a helicopter arriving could be heard, as the Newmans prepared to bring Nick to a hospital.

  9. ----------------------------------------------------------- "Next week on BTG" for week of July 28 - August 1st" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1zVJl2AIUQ ^ on the CBS youtube channel so might be geo-blocked outside USA. Same preview on twitter and bsky: -----------------------------------------------------------
  10. What? You've posted something like that in the past. I don't know why you say that. The modern world is misogynist.
  11. Monday July 28 US (Friday July 25 Canada) Sally puts on hiking wardrobe and hikes down the mountain just far enough to check on the conditions of the roads/tracks/etc. She returns to say the train tracks have been repaired for two days and the workmen were busy removing their repair equipment. Meanwhile: Carter grabs Lily and holds her at gunpoint. Cane convinces Carter to aim the gun at Cane instead of at Lily. Carter is about to shoot Cane, and Chance tries to save Cane. Carter shoots Chance during the struggle. Carter runs off. Chance dies. Carter shoots himself offscreen and dies. Meanwhile, Amanda disables the signal jammer and all the phones start working. She calls the police. Victor phones Adam to ask him to send a helicopter. (A lot more happened (a lot!) with various characters, but I'm not up to posting it all) Source: Canadian recappers. 12. same preview via bsky (Youtube version is embedded within the list of daily spoilers downthread)
  13. I've seen suggestions on twitter: Have Eva and Kat team up to take down Tomas. I don't think it would happen (at least not yet), but I'd be here for that when/if it does.
  14. Tomas is trash. Kat's face in the closing shot, she doesn't look happy at all.
  15. Ah okay. That explains the expression on the waitress' face when she was looking at what Naomi handed her.
  16. June bought Naomi lunch at Orphey Gene's with . . . fake money?
  17. July 32? I assume that came from another site.
  18. Posting this here just because we're all curious what the musical style will be for The Articulettes reunion concert. (see the bolded). From the PaleyCenter panel interview Feb. 28, 2025 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cELK5aAMc8 starting around 36 minutes in . . . Tamara Tunie: She’s from the projects yes she grew up in the projects in Chicago, and she used her talents to lift her out of the projects. She's a singer; and she and her girlfriends used to sing in the bathroom in high school, you know, and harmonized. And they performed in a talent show, and an agent spotted them and actually launched their careers. And so she was with a very successful girl group called The Articulettes. Interviewer Vladimir Duthiers: Who came up with that name? Tamara Tunie: Michele. Sheila Ducksworth: It's a real group. Michele used to actually sing in a group called The Articulettes. Interviewer Vladimir Duthiers . . . Sheila Ducksworth: Yes it's real. Tamara Tunie: So Michele definitely pulls from her own experience. And so she [Anita] was with The Articulettes. And then, at a certain point, she left The Articulettes to pursue a solo career as a jazz artist. So she shifted from pop R&B into jazz, and she had a very successful run there. And at that time was when she met Vernon Dupree at a rally in Washington DC; and they fell in love and married, and then started a family. And so she chose to put her career on the side, and support his political aspirations, and raise their two daughters. And she, you know, was an actor as well. So she was a singer, she was an actor, she won some awards.
  19. I think the *characterization/history* of Anita and the Articulettes was based on Diana Ross and the Supremes, somewhat; but perhaps not the musical style? And yes Ms. Tunie said at the PaleyCenter panel that Anita's solo career was more in a jazz direction.
  20. I read Michele Val Jean's public posts on social media. Sometimes she posts about a song from the past that she likes. She seems interested in a variety of music, including rock, soul, blues, etc, so I'm not sure what she has planned for the Articulettes on BTG. FYI, it's interesting to note that in real life, Michele Val Jean has a musical background in her real life. MVJ herself was in a *real-life* group called "the Articulettes" --- but I don't know when this was or what type of music they sang. This was mentioned in more than one official BTG interview several months ago. MVJ co-wrote two songs for Deniece Williams. The song "Blind Dating" from the album "Let's Hear it for the Boy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg5rFNDyBHg The song "Hot On the Trail" from album of same name "Hot On the Trail" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvTuVPliz-Y MVJ posted on twitter/instagram a picture of herself with a band, and she said that this was back when she was known as "Shelly". Actor Ted King replied to her IG and asked her about it, and she replied to his comment "We were a bar band so we did a little bit of everything, from Steely Dan to Jefferson Airplane to Gladys Knight plus a few originals thrown in." From the hairstyles of the men in the photos, it looks like late 1960s or early-to-mid 1970s maybe, I don't know? (Link to post)
  21. (She posted the same on June 6 on both ig and twitter) https://x.com/MicheleValJean/status/1931218356595806337 Update: I see that Ted King commented on MVJ's ig and she replied. officialtedking Can we get the accompanying music to the photo? Was it Disco? R & B? What? michelevaljean @officialtedking We were a bar band so we did a little bit of everything, from Steely Dan to Jefferson Airplane to Gladys Knight plus a few originals thrown in.
