  1. Well, I had always enjoyed Firefly, so I considered that making it. LOL But you're right that Nathan Fillion didn't find his greatest success until Castle.
  2. Mr. Anderson, anyway. I get the feeling Mrs. Anderson doesn't fully believe everything that her husband does. They're probably Jehovah's Witnesses, though of course they'd never mention the religion on TV. Or is it the Christian Scientists who are fully against medical treatment? I know Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in blood transfusions, but about other medical care, I have no idea. As for Ed Stark, Matt is probably giving him chance after chance as a favor to Ed's father and hospital board member, Paul. That's my theory on that issue, anyway.
  3. It's a shame that Michelle Forbes didn't become a bigger star. She really was one of the biggest unsung talents to hit daytime in the mid/late 80s.
  4. I never knew that Darnell gave Debbi away at her wedding. How sweet!!
  5. What treasures!! Thank you for sharing them.
  6. Good for Kim - I've always liked her. I just wonder why she hasn't been given her own show by now.
  7. Episode 1 today marks Round 2 between Dr. Sour Kraut and Dr. Horndog. Steve knows EXACTLY what Karen's up to. I cracked up when she yelled at him to "JUST SHUT UP!!!" But she is not stupid, not by a long shot. Maggie finally gets her rival to move out, but Karen then enlists Matt to help her apartment hunt, hopefully to a place near him - or rather, the hospital. (Uh-huh.) And once again, the good chief of staff falls for it all hook, line and sinker. Matt, when will you wake up? Also, Dr. Matt, when are you going to take Dr. Aldrich to task for his, ahem, mixing business with pleasure? He apparently didn't learn from the last lecture. With Karen and several other staff members (extras) noticing he and Liz running around, it shouldn't be too long before Matt hears about Dr. Horndog's latest escapades. Of course, my money is on the Sour Kraut. LOL We get a reference to Bill, Ruth and Danny - apparently the new family is getting along just fine and everybody is happy. How nice to hear. Also, we get a reference per Steve of this being a "national election year", as indeed 1968 was - ushering in the soap opera that would be known as the Nixon administration. Episode 2 - Althea and Nick band together as dedicated doctors to help a certain patient in need. I melted toward the end of the episode when Nick called Althea "Tiger". I hope tomorrow's first episode picks right up from where they left off, with Carolee's urgent phone call to Althea in the clinic and Althea rushing out to catch the elevator to the third floor. Maybe we'll finally get the confrontation between two certain very stubborn men that I've been waiting for!! Great, great show. I love it - it's like comfort food.
  8. I'm surprised Maggie didn't start partying right then and there when Karen announced she was moving out. (For some reason, now I have Billy Joel's "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" running through my head now. If you also do now, I wash my hands of it. LOL) Maybe later on, she and Althea will celebrate with a bottle of champagne. LOL I bet Matt was just more relieved than anything else that Karen beat him to the punch about the issue. He may be a bull with the hospital board when the occasion calls for it, but in a lot of other ways, he is the typical guy who doesn't want to be stuck in the middle and deal with confrontations, etc. Jim Pritchett did an excellent job of keeping Matt human.
  9. That's an interesting thought, but then we never would have gotten Nathan Fillion. I love how he went back to OLTL for a few episodes after he had already "made it".
  10. He was so gleeful yanking her chain - and her slapping him was just about what we've come to expect, isn't it? I wonder where Karen will finally set up residence.
  11. Kevin Stapleton and Nathan Fillion are definitely at the top of my list, though Don Jeffcoat wasn't bad. Haven't seen enough of the others to comment one way or the other.
  12. That was 2006? Has it been that long already?
  13. That's great. It's always nice when a friendship has lasted 30+ years, as theirs has. I also share a birthday with Debbi Morgan, so that's part of the reason I've always had a soft spot for her.
  14. Episode 1 sees the return of the prodigal Dr. Ed Stark - and Matt, Althea and Nick mulling over Mrs. Anderson's case and what to do. I would love to see Nick confront Mr. Anderson. THAT would truly be must-see TV!!! However, episode 2 is absolutely golden when everyone's favorite Sour Kraut learns that someone else is on to her thing for the chief of staff - someone not named Maggie, Nick or Althea. This scene is absolutely priceless - and Karen's reaction is typical. HA!! Also, we got another reference to our "Little Boy Doctor". Per his cousin Steve, John and Bonnie are still having a "wonderful time" in Europe. Yay!!
  15. That was in early 1968.
  16. In hindsight, this little soap never stood a chance. Such a shame, with all the talent involved.
  17. This scene always gets me. Every time. BOTH actresses should have been awarded Emmys. End of story. (6:20 mark)
  18. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers!! I think they did that show in 2002, though it may have been a little later.
  19. No need to be sorry, Carl. I look forward to seeing them when you find them. All My Shadows, the source of Mr. Bunker's anger and bitterness is going to go a long way in learning who he is and what he does. It will mean EVERYTHING. I don't know if either Jim Pritchett or Liz Hubbard ever sang on the show. Did she ever sing on ATWT?
  20. It seems that SB was one of the few exceptions, as it debuted in 1984, got its first nominations in 1986 and then started winning the biggies a couple of years after that - including Best Show three years running. I am surprised, though, that Y&R took so long to get major Emmy attention with someone of Bill Bell's pedigree at the helm.
  21. Yes, he was. He even looked a little like Ted Bundy, years before he became infamous. No wonder she went out on that ledge - so she could get away from him!!
  22. Carl, I could not find any of the Lynn Benish (Meredith Lord) interviews you were mentioning on here. If you can find them, please let us know - and thanks!!
  23. I don't think I'd seen that clip before. Thank you!! Jim Pritchett was a North Carolina native, went to school there and never forgot his roots. Carl, I went to the OLTL tribute thread and went through all 158 pages (!!!) but did not find any of the Lynn Benish interviews you mentioned. If you find them, would you please let us know? Was Bonnie on TD her first TV role?
  24. They were both dark horses in the Emmy races for those years. What was the storyline that made Irene Dailey the winner? To me, Aunt Liz was a supporting character, and they did in fact debut the supporting actor/actress categories in 1979 - Suzanne Rogers (Maggie, DAYS) took home that trophy.
