  1. Yay. https://tvline.com/2019/04/22/law-order-svu-season-21-warren-leight-returning-showrunner/
  2. Earl Rowe played Evan Fleming. I too loved the moving into the new Aldrich house - painting, measuring, etc. Those scenes were fun - and true to life. I do love the kitchen set - especially the half-circular brick thing.
  3. Maybe not, but she has vocal and visual qualities that remind me of Marla Gibbs - and Florence was not a submissive maid!! Maybe if they remake 227 Wanda can play Mary (and Queen Latifah can play Rose).
  4. I had forgotten about Kelly's second pregnancy. Thanks for the reminder. When Kelly was in Europe, Eden did keep in touch with her via phone. Gina and Keith had bugged Cruz's phone and found out where Kelly was that way. Those scenes aired in September 1986.
  5. When Eden and Mason found out that Sophia was alive and in town, they warned her to stay away and mentioned that they were worried about the effect of her being around would have on Ted and Kelly. They had a scene with her and Lionel in the presidential suite of the Capwell Hotel, right after Joe had been killed, and Eden even asked Sophia, "Do you even realize what she's gone through?" Still, I doubt either Mason or Eden were being completely altruistic. Mason wanted to stick it to CC, and Eden didn't want to give up her position as Lady of the Capwell Manor - one of the reasons why she detested Gina so much. About Kimberly McArthur as Kelly - in retrospect, she really wasn't that bad. She just had the misfortune of replacing an original cast member who was hitting big in Hollywood at the same time the 1988 WGA strike was going on. I think any of us would have taken KM over ED as Kelly any day. Kelly was pregnant by Jeffrey but miscarried in 1988. That was one of Robin Wright's final stories on SB and I thought she played Kelly's grief very well. She was very somber and didn't resort to histrionics. Kelly was shown to have a gift for drawing - especially in early 1985 during the ghost town storyline. She could have headed up the art department of Capwell Enterprises. Even better, she and Eden could have formed a business of their own. Eden was shown to have a mind for figures and estimates (around the time she met with the workers constructing The Orient Express). Eden could have run the business half and Kelly the creative half. Who knows?
  6. Yes. Eden and Cruz's first doomed attempt at a wedding aired in May 1985. Mary died in July 1986. Buzz's Beach Bar was destroyed in an explosion that also killed Amy Perkins Wallace in September 1986. Brick, her widower, later bought the property and rebuilt on the site. He named the new restaurant Johnny's. Johnny was Amy's son (whom she named after her father, a casualty of the 1984 earthquake) and Brick had helped raise him from the very beginning.
  7. Yup, that was when Dr. Marcello Armonti, who had an ax to grind with CC, flipped out and set fire to the Capwell Hotel. The Orient Express was on the top floor of the hotel. It was really interesting how once the fire reached the top floor and disrupted the wedding, the fire trucks, Medevac helicopters and such started taking everyone out of the burning building one by one. It was like SB does The Towering Inferno. I thought they did rebuild the Orient Express later on, but I could be wrong.
  8. Well, I thought it was good. Mary was hardly a saint - she could often be very judgmental of others (like Ted) and not seeing that some people were wolves in sheep's clothing...until it was too late (like Mark). She had finally started to pull her life together when she went up to the roof of the Capwell Hotel that fateful night. I did, however, think it was poor taste that the Capwells put that same neon C back on after Mary met her end. They were rich - couldn't they have replaced the C???
  9. Yes, and Myra Sofronski (who had worked on Marland's team) was held over, at least at this point in the rerun cycle.
  10. That's a plot point that should never have worked...but it did. The acting was incredible. Harley Jane moved on to film and primetime success before giving up show biz to become a novelist. I have never read any of her books; I probably should.
  11. A friend of mine found this in his local paper. It says that Ken Kercheval (Cliff Barnes) passed on Easter Sunday, April 21. I have yet to find anywhere on the web that backs this up.
  12. Right now in the rerun cycle, Mel and Ethel Brez are the technical headwriters (though they are still credited as "story by" and "written by" goes to one of the subwriters - my guess is it was whoever wrote that particular episode's script). Elizabeth Levin came later on.
  13. I wonder why they just didn't choose the obvious route - Elizabeth being her mother.
  14. Hey, both of those dresses are eons better than her first wedding dress - when she wed D.L. Brock. Yikes!!
  15. Shawn Campbell (Ricky Donnelly) is now appearing as Billy Allison Aldrich #4 in Retro TV's rerun cycle of The Doctors.
  16. It's so great to see her out there. I hope we get to see her in a continuing primetime role soon.
  17. Check out the hideous get-up worn by Dr. Ann Larimer (Geraldine Court) for her nuptials to Dr. Steve Aldrich (David O'Brien) in 1977 on The Doctors:
  18. In the reruns of The Doctors, there are several subwriters I am totally unfamiliar with. Ever heard of Lin Cole or Frederick Fierstein?
  19. Maybe Henry Slesar was a prognosticator after all.
  20. Does anyone know why the truth of Victoria Winters' parentage was never revealed?
  21. It sounds like her, but I'm not positive.
