BTG: February 2026 Discussion Thread
Hey, new script writer, hey! Today is definitely a day for the supporting cast. Jan. Caroline (who I continue to like as Bill's henchwoman and we all know I LOVE a henchwoman to a powerful man). Lysnette. And even Pamela...who has been quite frequent as of late. Yay. Once we started discussing it this past weekend, I was hoping you would chime in. Cuz I was thinking about sets as I was rewatching the week. It's been a year so my mind is starting to 'twitch' lol.

A missed show.

Hehe...Not Miguel in Bad Bunny's halftime performance and no Blaze or Lois in sight. ;) But seriously Ricky Martin cameo-in.

Very stupid. Especially in light of the fact that at one point Dante and Lulu were THE young couple on this show getting story after story after story. BLQ been a rival in that story before as well. So there's enough history there to play with. As long as the writing doesn't slant. That we have. And still discussing. Should have never taken away his own Achilles heel.

Or perhaps once Lulu and Nathan happen (ick), Dante will start to have feelings for her. BLQ probably won't develop feelings for him though until after she finds out Chase slept with Willow. And by the time Dante and BLQ get together...'Nathan' is unmasked, bringing us back to the BLQ vs Lulu rivalry which has been too dormant.

And that would be an argument because I felt Drew's changes were gradual as well. I do take issue with the writers going too far by taking away the only redeeming factor he had as he was changing: Scout. Whether one loved the actress or not, if the writers were going to have Drew running around being this way rather than masking his villainy like a true politician...which he was doing cleverly at first. His courtroom meltdown could have been a way to pivot him, too, I felt. Because I knew Drew had jealousy issues with Jason...which is why him dropping Carly like a hot potato when Jason returned under PM...hilarious, BUT in character...but I never knew he had grown so much hatred at Michael's place in the Quartermaine family. It's something that could totally be his throughline going forward and something that is just itching to be explored. I was sad to see a rift between him and Dante, but I do love that the writers have kept that tension going throughout multiple stories. Chase has also been a hothead at times (and CS can play him like a kid having a tantrum). They just need to pick up the pace in growing a rift between him and BLQ so that that can happen.

I agree with you. It would be nice if the writing had more of a build to the incoming Chase/BLQ friction rather than having it come into story infrequently, but they have set it up perfectly how in character it has been for Chase to want to either solve a mystery or be Captain SaveAHo. Michael has called him out. Tracy has called him out. Dante has called him out. And finally (and a few times) BLQ has called him out. They see this as a character flaw with him so I don't see why other people would not. Unless they are bias to the Chase/BLQ relationship.

That's not negative. Like you said...credit where it's due. And trust that I don't even want to give him that, but that's a fact. I don't even want to say it that way. But when we got that lovely classic episode at the beginning of the year where you got to see the mansion at its best with all that space AND during a party with everyone mixing it up...it's very sad to see what it is now. And it also says a lot that they have that long hallway and no one really using it. The Newman ranch now has a hallway and they were using it right, left, and everywhere in-between when it was unveiled. And before I stopped watching, they still found ways to use all of that space. But I guess it's all about Cane and his train...which also has a hallway now I see.- DAYS: February 2026 Discussion Thread
I didn't even know that Stefano was alive yet again...I vaguely remember hints from when I last regularly viewed, but I can't remember if it was ever confirmed off the top of my head...until this week's promo. So it seems they did take that approach of him alive and off-screen. I do like with that mind, they are giving some form of closure to him to move on to the next generation. I know there are plenty of them on canvas.- DAYS: February 2026 Discussion Thread
I will take more Kate any way I can get her. That sounds really interesting. re: Marlena and the candles. Thank you for the tip. I think I will be diving in this weekend so looking forward to seeing it. Thank you for this. I had seen the promo and I admit that I was not sure what was going on since Stefano has been getting the Sally Spectra approach (character is alive while actor/actress passes in real life) for the last few years.- BTG: February 2026 Discussion Thread
Ooooo don't tell me that! re: DAYS. I think I'm caught up enough on shows (and have long since dropped Y&R enough) that I can finally add DAYS to my viewing list. I figured with the casting news over the last year that it was bad, but wooooowww. That is very sad to hear. You have been in the GH Thread enough to know that I have no problem reading Petty Frank down, but one thing I can never take away from him is his ability to have so many different sets in good rotation. And smart cameramen during the summer. ;) None of the soaps have the same budget as they used to so it's amazing what he can do with GH on so little. And we STILL get to see well-known sets that show very little signs of wear like the nurse hub, Bobbie's (Kelly's)...sidenote...good to see they remembered there are guest rooms above for story purposes, the Q mansion which looks and feels it, etc. No one is touching Frank Valentini when it comes to sets. At all. I just started my binge of this week's B&B so sets have been on my mind a lot today. I was worried about the studio move and I've liked it overall. I agree. It's been more spacious which I love. And I'm not bored with it as of yet. I was worried about the model room for example which was flashy short-term, but I couldn't help thinking about long-term what they would do with it. So I like they are finding ways to factor that room in...Carter and Daphne's dinner, finding ways to have work going on in that room, etc. Otherwise it is a waste of space. And while it's the same sets I am used to before the move, it does feel like they are rotated enough for me that it does not bother me if that makes sense. I'm sad to say this, but I couldn't care less about Y&R. I am grateful in the Y&R Thread someone mentioned the Chancellor Mansion made an appearance (finally) last Friday so I peeked in for a few minutes last weekend to see it. It just saddened me how very small and stage play-ish it looked now. Moreso thinking about the remodel that the Newman Ranch got before Ed Scott retired. They been wasting money ever since. ETA: Yeah now that we are approaching a year, yeah, I might be starting to get a bit picky about sets on BTG. But with it doing good in other areas, even competing with GH for my attention, it would nice to see it compete (friendly competition) with GH a little bit in terms of sets, but it really has a looooooong way to go to get there. GH truly is the standard for that now. And again...I'm so ready for that university set.- GH: February 2026 Discussion Thread
Ugh. Jacinda. Aww at Marco/Lucas discussing moving off the island. I have to say that I love that Willow is doing what we discussed last month for Drew. Being nice in public and to a lot of people's faces. But behind closed doors or alone, the mask slips. It's giving old school soap villainess/schemer and I don't at all hate that. It's been a minute since a lady has been so stealth on a soap.- B&B: February 2026 Discussion Thread
2-3 Well, it's off to a nice fluffy start. I was not expecting to see Ivy in the role of Ice Queen. AB is clearly having a ball, and she's never looked better as she was blackmailing Dylan out of town. And being so glee with it in front of Will and Electra is delicious. You really get to feel for Dylan over it all and it was giving me old school DAYS when Kate would be trying to push Sami around in the 90s before Sami got exposed at her first wedding. I like that. I should say this now. I don't hate NuRJ. I just really like looking at the oldRJ. Cuz that bubble...lol. That said...I liked his meet-cute with Dylan. And I could get behind them because so many people already seem set against Dylan as much as there are people for her. She is actually giving more young (and not boring) heroine than Electra now. Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. I did enjoy the showdown with Steffy. But I kinda want Taylor to put her foot down. Though I understand where Steffy is coming from because it's SHEILA. I really am invested and want to see where it will end up. Because I feel Taylor and Deacon are going to fall into bed before Sheila finds out. In other words...MESSY.
