  1. They really should have decided on Greta's father but instead we had endless months of Greta thinking Jack was gay. And then she left as B&C were just getting started. Kind of waste looking back. I loved Julianne Morris. Greta was always OK. Potential that was never reached. If they made Stefano her father, she'd be too similar to Lexie's role at the time. Making John her father would have worked but even I'm not sure I'd pull the trigger on that one. I'd still go with Stefano. I'd like another DiMera daughter. Chloe could have been at one point too.
  2. Same. Gaston was instantly likeable and actually well cast in the role. I say that as someone who was happy he was let go from DAYS (though now we're stuck with Robert "Abs" Wilson forever) Yeah, Griffith has been on this bizarre 2013 kick since he came back. It ebbs and flows but like ... he's a mess. I don't get why he's still around. There literally seems to be no purpose to anyone and no real stories. The show feels aimless and directionless.
  3. Isn't that the truth? Watros has made Nina watchable. It's why I was happy to have her. I knew at least I'd be happy to see Watros. I don't love Nina either and she could easily go tomorrow (like several others) but like you said, I don't mind seeing her, and I like she's in the thick of it and keeping Sonny away from his family. Stafford and Mo? OMG. No. I could never sit through them. Lord. We are so lucky, truly, lol, to have Watros. And I echo others, I like Jason and Britt too. She's a taller Sam with a pulse and personality. I liked the Carly and Liz chat UNTIL it became the usual bizarre propping. Like, really? I see what you mean about Watros. I was meaning more romantic chemistry, but I guess the way I said it ... lol. She does have a good rapport with all of them. I'd like more with Stuart actually. Hopefully in the future. I know stans on social media are all for Valentin and Anna but why can't they just be friends? What would ya'll think of "Vanna"? LMAO ... And YES on Molly and TJ. She should have had the pregnancy by Brando. Though I guess Mattsson is preggers IRL? Am I wrong? Is that why they wrote it in? I like the soapy aspect of the Michael/Willow/Chase stuff. I wouldn't mind Chase manipulating things himself. I like them all being a bit more grey. Though I really am getting tired of seeing Michael and Willow. I just need a break. From them and Carly. Perfect GIF for Stafford and Mo in scenes together. And yeah, the Quartermaine set is strange. It did seem to get darker. Then you have the 'main' area which is all modern and blue/teal/green. I also dislike what they did to Sonny's house. I feel like they chopped up Carly's old house and cut Sonny's house to form a smaller set. And now we get stuck with their useless kitchen set and big green moss. It feels like they take a few steps forward in sets (the outdoor efforts, new restaurant, I didn't hate the Q re-do after I got used to it) but then backwards with the above and others. I miss soaps having a real budget. Siiiigh. And speaking of sets, it was nice to see Kelly's again. It feels like it's been a while.
  4. It sure is. I would love to never see Doug Davidson or Nellie's thirsty asses again.
  5. Ah I almost did forget about hospital HR. I liked her in that spot. I liked Jennifer there too (as much as I prefer her at the Spectator). Even though both were mostly plot points to pair them with Mike and Daniel, respectively. But it worked. She's had a lot of careers so I guess that's pretty relatable LOL. At least she settled on something lol. I'm patiently waiting for Carrie's return. Sigh. It feels like Ron likes writing for her and wants to. Shame too as other regimes didn't, hence her moving out of the country, etc and often being unavailable.
  6. I have to admit, not sure on Ingo. And it is disappointing. It's tough having fond memories of a character but battling the fact that their actor is ... to be nice ... problematic. Agreed on CW. I haven't seen chemistry with anyone either.
  7. lol Austin Reed "super accountant/teacher". I could never see Peck's Austin being an accountant OR teacher. LOL. It's hard to remember but Muldoon's Austin had a personality (and lots of man tears). He boxed, played piano ... I did enjoy Peck's Austin in his returns (2017/2019) as more of an overgrown fratboy with some sarcasm. That worked. LOL. And yeah, like I said, Carrie never seemed interested in really anything. I did like her with Hope, Billie, etc. at Titan in the 90s, but Carrie really never had a career path. Shame. I buy her as a lawyer now. I could have seen her becoming a lawyer to take down ruthless companies or something. It's plausible. But I wanted more for her I guess. I still want Christie to settle down and be on the show as Carrie permanently. LOL. Now is a good time.
  8. I agree. I had always wanted Jax to have a place on the show (for balance, as you said), but man his behavior off-screen has soured me entirely. I can't even look at him the same, really. He just screams douchebag too now regardless of politics. I'm struggling with Chad Duell too but he's also painfully checked out. I have to agree as well on Nina and Sonny/Mike. Are they doing it for plot purposes, or are they actually trying to build something? I give Watros and Benard the credit for trying to build something, really. Benard seems thrilled to be working with Watros LOL (and that's not sarcasm, he does seem very happy). I'm all for it for the chaos it will cause but there's likely no future for them as a couple. I mean, she kept him from his family, even if he may not have wanted to find out who he was. But it's a soap so who the hell knows? lol (But yeah, no real chemistry IMHO, though I also didn't see any with Laura Wright and lord knows they pushed them for years) And yep, Avery with Carly means it's not ending anytime soon. I also doubt he instantly gets his memory back. They should probably milk this. Yeah, he's a trash person. Apparently he threatened to sue in order to keep his job, allegedly, over the covid protocols. Nancy called him out without calling him out. It does seem like they're deliberately writing Jax into a corner.
  9. LOL lord WHHHHHHYYYYYY? Y&R has become a joke. Even more so than when Eddie Winslow masqueraded as Malcolm and Kevin was in a foam head costume. Why on earth is Griffith still employed? CBS is clearly checked out, for better and for worse. Sony? Are they even awake at the wheel? They clearly want the show to die.
  10. I have to agree on the GH sets. But they at least offer some diversity and attempt 'outdoor' sets. I give them credit for that, but a lot of the sets feel generic and lack depth. But that's a sad sign of the times and a minimal budget. Pretty much this. The last decade of ATWT was a hot mess. It had some decent/good (1999-2001-ish weren't terrible or bad in retrospect) some over the top (2002-2005) and then .... Jean Passanante just isn't a headwriter who has a vision. And so many casting mistakes. I will always be annoyed we lost Holroyd for Howarth. I'm still bitter. LOL. (It's easy to blame Goutman for castings, but I know it was an attempt to ABC-ify the soaps for some bizarre reason) I wonder what happened BTS around 2007/2008. Martha Byrne couldn't flee fast enough and Scott Bryce was treated like garbage. Not saying Goutman was great (he was also a douche) but I saw some decent potential in the beginning of his time (and even at AW) but then ... yikes. (I will also never forgive the sidelining of Lisa as a glorified dayplayer)
  11. lol So bad. Nothing says building up romance like a dead body (I assume he dies; I haven't watched) Excellent points. I would love Allie becoming a counselor. I agree with others that making both Belle and Carrie lawyers is a bit redudant. Belle makes more sense as an Elle Woods lawyer type who's actually good at it. Carrie would have made sense as a counselor but the character never seemed to have a solid career direction. Model, business, owning a business ... it never really seemed to work (Model was just a plot point of course).
  12. It does feel like his days are numbered. But who knows? The show could definitely continue to cut some dead weight and they have Mathison incoming ... Meanwhile, onto the show ... I like the Ava/Nikolas drama over this 'stalker'. Is it Hayden? Spencer? It does get tired seeing Ava in misery but I would probably do the same, lol. I also like the Portia/Jordan friendship. Wonder what happens when they start sleeping with Curtis and Taggert ... And speaking of Curtis, he even makes Jason somewhat likeable. The man is a treasure. I could be down for their 'friendship'. It could get interesting if they remember Drew was Curtis' BFF before he died and got a new face (allegedly) I like Brando and Sasha but they really don't need to be on contract. I'd much rather see TJ and Molly. Sigh. I appreciate the new directions they've taken characters in. Sonny/Nina (no chemistry but the drama potential is fun to think of), Carly/Jason/Britt, Sam/Dante, Maxie has her fire back (sort of) ... I also like the twist on the baby switch. And Finn killing Peter with Liz helping him cover it up. I just wish Liz still had more of a POV. The scenes with Jason helped a bit. More of that please ... I also like Shawn/Alexis. I know folks were annoyed he wasn't released from prison yet but they gotta build them up And Josslyn/Trina/Cameron have so much potential but all they seem to do is tread water. I love though that Trina has other connections like Ava and Laura. Cameron USED to have scenes with Laura ... I could use a break from Josslyn, truthfully, but now would be a good time to re-introduce Spencer ... The show has potential when it's not catering to Frank's pets or other agendas.
  13. LOL, but that is a shame. I'd like him back.
  14. LOL it sure is (and I'm sure several people are cringing LOL oh well! It's Sunday Funday ).
  15. LOL they do. We are triplets separated at birth
  16. Oh that's even better! lol Hellllllooooo there ....
  17. Was this the photo they gave Ron for inspiration? Jesus. I may become a Johnny stan Actually, his face in that photo reminds me of KJ Apa from Riverdale.
  18. He's good but no thanks LOL. And if Claire's out (so I've heard) why bother? lol
  19. Yeah, I had a feeling. It makes sense. I see more of a resemblance between Mathison and Burton than I did between Burton and Miller. I will say Miller had decent chemistry with the cast of GH. I liked him more on GH than I ever did on Y&R. I question how long Mathison will even stick around so why make him Drew? He has a career outside of daytime. I know Home and Family is dead but still. Yet, I still see a bunch of actors hogging contracts. I see another Howarth and I'm just so meh to it all. So many characters I'd rather have back and see yet nope. I still say they should have given everyone the finger and made Howarth Drew with Franco's face. LMAO. It's pure [!@#$%^&*] he has yet another role (though at least it's freeing without the Franco baggage, so I'll give them that) while others struggle to even get airtime. And I'd argue the general fans of ABC daytime are complicit in this stupid crap. They eat up having Howarth and Mathison. I just don't get it. I mean, you have "30 year fans" writing into SOD about how devastated they are about Franco being killed. Like ... seriously? It's almost cult like. When Franco becomes more important and "beloved" than AJ Quartermaine, we have a [!@#$%^&*] problem. Why on earth could I not be watching AJ these last few years? Duke? Steven Lars? Tom Hardy? To name just a few Valentini keeps getting a pass by some because he 'saved GH' but I'm tired of hearing that. He sucks and he has his favorites like they all do. It could always be worse but it's really time for a change. He went to to the School of Brian Frons and has some fetish with some hybrid soap. And of course gives preference to the men (where's Rebecca Budig?) ... and Laura Wright apparently. 19 times in May. Whooo boy. Remember when half the cast would get that much in the 80s/90s/00s? Meanwhile, Liz gets a church scene and is immediately interrupted by Anna. Liz "sees" Peter haunting her on the roof, but still has no POV about any of this. Make it make sense ... yet they make sure we see every second of Willow or Finn's "pain" ...
  20. Just expect nothing from him in regards to these things. I have. It is what it is. Just let it go LOL Trust me, I get it. But again, it is what it is. He worked there. He knows them as people, not always as their characters, etc. He worked in PR. Not everyone is crazy like us and knows every detail LOL
  21. LOL so true, but honestly, I believe him on this. Doug Davidson screams [!@#$%^&*] to me. I definitely also believe there's deeper reasons he isn't working on Y&R anymore.
  22. This. I absolutely agree with your take on this. He definitely deserves some heat, but at his core, he's a PR person and it shows. You're trained to prevent messes, not cause them. Even if deep down he probably loves the tea like we all do. I also understand the frustration of wanting to go deeper with the guests and get more tea spilled. I admit to being frustrated, but the reality is, they aren't interviews. They're hangouts he started during the pandemic so we could hang out with our favorite soap stars from the past. I appreciate the effort and his ability to get so many people I never thought I'd hear from (or SEE do an interview live on YouTube, LOL).
  23. It's the only soap attempting to be a soap and tell stories. It's far from great but it's the only one I watch every day, while I struggle through DAYS and barely watch Y&R (I try but I can never finish an episode!) or B&B at all anymore. DAYS is just too hard to invest in. The show is a hot mess all over the place. Ron needs a strong co-hw and the show was better with Meng around honestly. Alarr can't cut it. Shame. DAYS has the cast to easily turn it all around. I don't get it. One of the problems with DAYS is short term stories and planning. With a two year renewal, I better see an improvement as Corday alluded to, but he's checked out most of the time so ...
